The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 2668: Chapter 2668: Guan Qingshu Arrives (4)

The Xu Family has suddenly become the subject of everyone’s envy, and Xu Huairui hasn’t come to find Yang Ruxin again.

Yang Ruxin didn’t care about this at all. After all, she had already predicted this outcome. Since she managed to keep Jiang Fangfei, her purpose was achieved, and she was busy packing her things. After the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, they would set off on their journey home, just in time for spring plowing.

”Madam, a scholar named Guan Qingshu is asking to see you.” That day, as Yang Ruxin was tidying up clothes, a young maid came in to report.

”Please let him in.” Yang Ruxin was slightly taken aback, then remembered that Guan Qingshu had come to Beijing to study long ago and was under the tutelage of Wang Yaze. But why was he visiting now?

Guan Qingshu seemed to have grown taller since the last time they met, and he looked sturdier, no longer as thin as before. His handsome face had lost some of its boyishness, now bearing the air of a mature man.

”Xinxin!” When he saw Yang Ruxin come out, Guan Qingshu’s eyes lit up with genuine joy.

”After a few months apart, you’ve become even more outstanding.” Yang Ruxin gave him a once-over and didn’t hesitate to praise him.

”Hehe.” Guan Qingshu appeared a bit shy, ”Can I see your triplets?”

Yang Ruxin nodded and got up, leading him to the nursery: ”They’re sleeping now.”

When Guan Qingshu walked into the room, he saw three exquisitely carved little toddlers lying side by side, snoozing like little pigs. One of them seemed to be dreaming, smiling broadly, while another smacked its tiny lips, but none opened their eyes.

”They’re really adorable.” Guan Qingshu glanced at Yang Ruxin.

”You’re not young anymore; you should start considering marriage.” Yang Ruxin nodded, pulling the small blanket up over her son, ”Surely your future children will be just as adorable.”

Guan Qingshu fell silent at once. Yes, he truly should consider marriage. But without the girl of his dreams, whom should he marry? However, he couldn’t say this, because the fate that was originally his, was pushed away by his own doing. Who could he blame? Maybe he was destined to be solitary for life.

But how should he explain this to his parents?

”Don’t be silent.” Yang Ruxin glanced at him, ”Do you want me to introduce you to a girl?”

Guan Qingshu looked up and met Yang Ruxin’s gaze: ”Sure.”

Yang Ruxin opened her mouth, surprised that he would agree, taken aback for a moment, but then she quickly laughed: ”You said it, don’t be unhappy then.”

”If it’s someone you introduce, I will definitely be happy.” Guan Qingshu averted his gaze. If he must marry, then it should be to a girl she thinks is good.

Yang Ruxin frowned slightly but ultimately said nothing more.

Guan Qingshu took out a box and handed it to Yang Ruxin: ”I don’t have much money right now, so I carved these myself for the triplets to play with.”

Yang Ruxin accepted it and opened the box to find three carved seals, made of ordinary stone but intricately detailed. The overall shape was of small snakes because the triplets were born in the year of the snake, and the names engraved were their nicknames: ”You have this skill?”

”My teacher enjoys carving, so I picked up a bit in my spare time.” Guan Qingshu chuckled, ”When I get better at it, I’ll carve them anew.”
