The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 2660: Chapter 2660: A Word in Private (Part 4)

”Don’t.” Madam Shu’s eyes went wide and she waved her hand in a hurry. ”Then twenty thousand.” She let out a breath as she spoke, pressing down the stabbing pain in her heart. ”I’ll get you the Silver in a bit.”

”In a few days.” Yang Ruxin, however, looked troubled. ”I’m still missing one medicinal ingredient. I’ll make it once I’ve gathered everything.”

”Then you must let me know the moment it’s ready.” Madam Shu looked full of anticipation, then suddenly thought of something. ”How many can you make at one time?”

”At most two pills.”

”Then I’ll take them both.”

”Madam Shu.” Yang Ruxin frowned. ”Do you know what that Medicine Pill is for?”

”I...” Madam Shu was choked for a moment, but quickly smiled. ”Of course I know. Isn’t that relative of mine running around the jianghu? This Medicine Pill can save a life.”

”You’re really good to that relative of yours.” Yang Ruxin said, neither agreeing nor disagreeing.

”Heh heh.” Madam Shu chuckled twice, then let out a small sigh. ”Can’t be helped. In these deep palace walls, we don’t get to see family often. The only thing I can do is satisfy some of their requests, as long as it’s within my power. Otherwise, there’s nothing I can do even if I want to.”

Yang Ruxin smiled a little. After all, the other woman’s expression and tone were just right; she really couldn’t find a flaw. In the end she could only sigh. ”I can only sell one pill to you, Madam Shu. If Your Ladyship thinks that’s too few, then...”

”It’s not few.” Madam Shu hurriedly waved her hand. ”One pill it is, then.”

Yang Ruxin said nothing more, and by this time they had already entered Kangshou Palace.

The concubines had all arrived, and a few madams with Imperial Edicts were also coming in one after another to offer New Year’s greetings.

After Yang Ruxin followed protocol to pay her respects for the New Year, she quickly used the excuse that the child needed to be nursed to take her leave.

The Empress Dowager did not keep her, and even deliberately or otherwise added, ”Give her my regards.” Others might not know who ”her” was, but Yang Ruxin did: the Empress Dowager was sending greetings to Nian Qianqian.

Not long after leaving Kangshou Palace, she saw Wanyan Liang coming over from a side path. She had intended to ignore him, but he quickly strode up in front of her. ”Madam Ruyi.”

”Crown Prince Wanyan, Happy New Year.” Yang Ruxin lifted her face in a smile.

”May I borrow a step to speak with you?” Wanyan Liang looked at her with knitted brows.

”There are no outsiders here. If Crown Prince Wanyan has something to say, just say it. I’m in a hurry to go home and feed the child.” Yang Ruxin did not move.

Wanyan Liang glanced around, and after making sure no one was coming over, he nodded. ”I want to know what is really wrong with the Princess of Pingning’s health.”

”Huh?” Yang Ruxin instantly showed a stunned expression. ”The Princess of Pingning is in excellent health, truly. She’ll definitely live a long life in the future, and she’ll certainly be able to bear you sons.”

”Then does madam know that she fainted yesterday?”

”Impossible, my medicine...” Yang Ruxin blurted out, then realized she was too anxious and hurriedly gave an awkward laugh. ”I mean...” The rest came out somewhat embarrassed, as if she wasn’t sure how to explain. ”People eat grain and drink water; there’s always a chance of getting sick. Girls being a bit more delicate is normal...”

Wanyan Liang’s face turned extremely ugly. ”Madam, you are a smart person. By concealing the truth like this, are you hoping for Daxuan and Jin Country to fall out with each other?”

”Crown Prince Wanyan, that’s far too serious.” Yang Ruxin’s face sank. ”If you think the Princess of Pingning is unwell, the person you should be looking for is the Imperial Physician, not blocking me here and ignoring decorum. Step aside!”
