The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 2137: Chapter 2137: What Happened Back Then (3)

”Qianqian, please stop chasing me.” Zhang Changyang sighed, halted his steps, but didn’t turn around. His gaze fell on the endless mountains and rivers before him. ”So many years have passed, we’re no longer the reckless youths we once were. Back then, I wronged you. You should consider me a beast, you...”

”Brother Changyang, it’s been so many years. I’ve chased you from youth to old age, and do you still want to keep hiding from me?” Nian Qianqian’s tears never stopped. ”Look back at me. My hair that was once so beautiful is now white. Do you really want to let the rest of my days be spent exhausting myself in this pursuit?” She closed her eyes briefly. ”I’m tired...”

”Why do this?” Zhang Changyang’s voice carried a nasal tone, and if one could see his face, they would surely notice his reddened eyes. ”Someone like me, it’s not worth it.”

”Exactly, why do this?” Nian Qianqian sniffled. ”What happened back then wasn’t your fault. I was willing, I was the one who loved you, who wanted to become your woman...”

”Stop talking.” Zhang Changyang sighed. ”We’re of age now, and those feelings of love have long since faded. I just hope you live well, I hope you... I’m too ashamed to face you, but I’m also too ashamed to die and face him.”

”But I love you.” Nian Qianqian closed her eyes again. ”The way you treated me, I was happy... In this lifetime, no other man has ever made me as happy as you did...”

Zhang Changyang shook his head. ”Qianqian, you cannot understand the guilt and sorrow in my heart. If... if I hadn’t developed feelings for you back then, then he wouldn’t have died. If...”

”But I didn’t love him, I loved you.” Nian Qianqian looked at his back. ”Just because he saved your life, or because we were betrothed when we were kids, or because he loved me first, do I have to love him back? Do I not have the right to choose?”

Zhang Changyang was speechless.

”He died, do we have to suffer alongside him, do we no longer have the right to happiness?” Nian Qianqian continued questioning Zhang Changyang. After so many years, finally getting such a chance, how could she not speak the words she’d held in for so long?

Zhang Changyang remained silent.

”Brother Changyang, chasing you for all these years, I’m truly exhausted...” Nian Qianqian, seeing Zhang Changyang silent, suddenly sighed softly. ”These years of obsession have become a burden I can’t bear. So, seeing you this year, I’ve fulfilled a wish. At least, before I die, I can say the words I’ve held in for decades.”

Zhang Changyang’s figure trembled.

”The first time I saw you, I knew I was lost.” Nian Qianqian gave a bitter smile. ”My heart and eyes were full of you, I couldn’t control myself, so I approached you. But you were too proper, so I could only drug you...” She tilted her head back slightly. ”So you don’t need to blame yourself anymore. Back then, I schemed against you, and I was the reason Yao Guang died. Now that I’ve seen you and said everything I needed, I can repay with my life for his...”

”Qianqian?” Zhang Changyang suddenly turned around, only to see a white figure leaping towards the mountain chasm below.
