The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 2233: Chapter 2233: The Object of Gossip (3)

”Our family already has Shu Yang, that little rascal, so naturally the second child should be a daughter, right, Grandpa?” Shu Zhe looked at Shu Xing.

”Daughters or sons are the future of our Shu Family.” Shu Xing made no comment, just lowered his head to eat the stuffed dumplings. Hmm, must have the chef at home learn this, so we can make it whenever we want.

”Hurry up and speak.” Shu Huai was getting impatient.

”Alright.” Shu Luo began to explain with great enthusiasm, mimicking the reactions of passersby in an incredibly vivid manner, provoking loud laughter from everyone.

”Serves them right.” Shu Niushi chuckled and then pouted, ”That’s karma.”

”That’s the cycle of cause and effect.” Madam Shu Lishi nodded in agreement, ”Just watch, an even bigger show is coming up next.”

”Don’t worry, I’ve arranged for people to keep an eye on the Gu Family.” Shu Luo finally got the steamed dumplings he had been dreaming of, and ate them joyfully, one after another. ”They want to contain the news but can’t. Watch and see, soon the whole Shu Land will be spreading the sensational tales about the Gu Family.”

Yang Ruxin’s eyes lit up: ”We can even hire storytellers to turn these events into tales and spread them.”

”Great idea.” Shu Luo slapped his thigh, ”Tomorrow I’ll arrange for someone to do it.”

”But doing this will also make the Shu Family a topic of gossip.”

”Let them gossip.” Shu Xing sneered, ”Do you really think people wouldn’t talk about us if we hadn’t fallen out with the Gu Family? People say the Shu Family is weak, that my daughter truly did something disgraceful and was despised by her husband, and that my grandson is unscrupulous, which is why...” He choked up at the end, not knowing if it was out of anger or sadness.

”Some even say the Shu Family is trying to curry favor with the Gu Family.” Shu Tongzhi picked up the conversation, ”So Xinxin, the Shu Family has always been a subject of gossip.”

Yang Ruxin nodded, ”Well, since that’s the case, leave the storytelling to me. Once it’s written, you all can spread it.”

”Cousin-in-law, that would be splendid.” Shu Luo had heard the stories Yang Ruxin told to the younger siblings, and they were absolutely brilliant. If she could personally write them, the effect would surely be outstanding.

That night, it was a sleepless night for some, while others slept even more sweetly.

On the third morning at the Shu Family, Yang Ruxin and Gu Qingheng got up and, after a simple breakfast, set out with prepared offerings. They were going to formally pay respects to Shu Manzhi.

Gu Qingheng declined the Shu Family’s offer to accompany them, stating he wanted to meet mother-in-law alone with his wife.

The Shu Family didn’t object, and two aunts diligently prepared offerings for them, then arranged for a carriage and capable servants to accompany them.

Manzhi Villa was located on the outskirts of Tongcheng, just about an hour’s journey, some ten miles away.

A married woman cannot return to her family’s ancestral tombs, and since Shu Manzhi left behind a separation letter when she passed, she couldn’t be placed in the Gu Family’s ancestral tomb to provoke them.

Of course, at that time, the Gu Family also didn’t want Shu Manzhi to enter their ancestral tomb to take up space. After all, Zou Qiuyue was the apple of Gu Sheng’s eye, and if the spot for Madam Gu in the family tomb was taken, where would she be buried a hundred years later? So, when the Shu Family requested her return, she instigated Gu Sheng to agree.

Yet when she returned, where would she be buried?

Old Man Shu couldn’t bear to see his daughter buried alone outside, so he built this Manzhi Villa solely for her.
