The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1632: Chapter 1632: Misguided (3)

In the main courtyard of the Shen Family.

Shen Kun summoned Shen Wanyin to his side: ”Second son, your elder brother has sent a letter. He says that the illness young Bo is suffering from is extremely rare, even the Imperial Physicians in the palace find it unfathomable.”

Shen Wanyin couldn’t help but sigh: ”Then what about young Bo...”

”It’s not that I’m criticizing you.” Shen Kun sighed again, his expression grim, ”You’ve raised your children poorly...”

Shen Wanyin lowered his head.

Seeing his son’s distressed look, as if realizing his own mistakes, Shen Kun’s expression softened slightly: ”Second son, I’m not trying to rebuke you, but think about it. Originally, Lala and Zhenzhen, the two sisters, were both good-looking. The Crown Prince and the Third Prince could have been drawn closer through them, but what happened in the end?” He sighed deeply, ”Now even young Bo is practically ruined. Tell me, if this continues, how can your elder brother possibly support your branch of the family? On the other hand, if you perform poorly and drag your elder brother down, then our Shen Family will suffer as well...”

”Father, I understand.” Shen Wanyin nodded vigorously, ”I will definitely discipline them properly in the future... But Father, Lala is still young after all, and she’s good-looking. She was just misled earlier by her Aunt’s shortsighted meddling...” She can’t just stay at home forever; we must find a way to use her to gain some benefits.

”I’ll write to your elder brother again about this. If all else fails, send her to Beijing. Let her learn proper manners. Your sister-in-law can scrape around and maybe help find her a decent match...”

”I’ll leave it entirely to your discretion, Father. Thank you, Father.” Shen Wanyin felt relieved, having grown increasingly aggravated these past few days by the sight of Aunt Jiang’s tearful face. Now, this resolution was already the best possible outcome.

”Now let’s talk about young Bo. That Yang Ruxin is a disciple of Dao Xuzi from Yunmen Mountain.” Shen Kun waved his hand, ”What do you think caused young Bo’s illness?”

”Could it be...” Shen Wanyin’s eyes widened in an instant before nodding knowingly. He had been aware of the incident at the plum viewing banquet, and even punished his youngest daughter for it. Looking back now, it must have been Yang Ruxin’s handiwork. Why hadn’t he realized this earlier?

”Regardless, we don’t have any evidence. Besides, those two brats were in the wrong to begin with. So, let’s set this matter aside for now.” Shen Kun, ever the cunning old fox, immediately calculated the pros and cons.

”But...”

”But what?” Shen Kun suddenly slapped the table. ”Do you think you’re very capable? Don’t you know that Gu Qingheng has earned numerous battle merits at the frontlines? The Emperor even rewarded him with the Imperial Sword. I’m telling you, if you can’t manage your household and continue acting presumptuously, don’t blame me for turning against you. I’ll split the family right now...”

Shen Wanyin shivered in fear and hurriedly knelt down: ”Father, I don’t object, truly. Please don’t be upset; I will follow your orders.”

”Your elder brother mentioned in his letter that Dao Xuzi’s poisons are unmatched and that all poisons under heaven are solvable by Dao Xuzi alone.” Shen Kun’s breath was heavy, ”This is according to the Medical Officer from the Imperial Hospital.”

”Then what should we do?”

”Prepare abundant gifts immediately, then go personally to seek treatment.” Shen Kun looked at his younger son’s obedient demeanor, and his anger subsided a little. ”No matter the other party’s attitude, you must show them utmost respect. Even if it means groveling, it’s worth it. Do you understand?”
