The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1610: Chapter 1610: Jieyuan (4)

”Xinxin, is it alright if I call you that?” Chu An smiled warmly as he looked at Yang Ruxin.

Yang Ruxin nodded, ”Whatever suits you, old sir.”

”What’s the plan for dinner tonight?”

Yang Ruxin blinked and hesitated slightly, ”I’ll have someone send it over to you.”

”That sounds like such a hassle,” Chu An waved his hand dismissively. ”Besides, it would be cold by the time it arrived. So, how about we come over and eat at your place tonight instead?” He certainly hadn’t forgotten about Luo Wanli.

”But in this cold weather, making the trip back and forth...”

”It’s fine—it’s just a few steps away. Plus, Luo will accompany me. We’re just an old man and an older guy; no one’s going to rob us...”

Yang Ruxin’s lips twitched slightly. She couldn’t exactly refuse, so she nodded, ”Alright.” She thought to herself, is this another foodie I’ve run into?

The old man’s smile broadened in satisfaction.

Leaving the school with a stack of contract documents, Yang Ruxin had Miao Jian hitch the carriage and take Du Juan to the county for registration. She also used the opportunity to investigate the backgrounds of these individuals. After all, if the information they provided was accurate, there should be records filed in the County Governor’s Office for their registered domiciles.

After leaving the school, Yang Ruxin headed to the village chief’s home. Now that the school had teachers lined up, it was time to start enrolling students. Since the renovation rules had been clearly explained, it was now a matter of waiting for families to come and register. Of course, very young children were temporarily excluded; they had to be at least five years old.

In the future, if the school expanded, she might consider establishing a preschool class someday.

”Big cousin,” Yang Ruxin had just stepped out of the village chief’s home when she spotted Yang Rusong standing by the roadside, clearly waiting for her.

”What is it?” Yang Ruxin raised her brows slightly.

”I’m wondering if I could move into the school as well?” Yang Rusong looked a little embarrassed but didn’t stammer or hesitate. ”I can help clean up and also...”

”That’s a school, so as a teacher, you’re allowed to live there. But let me be clear—I won’t tolerate anyone causing trouble at the school,” Yang Ruxin’s gaze sharpened slightly. ”Do you understand?”

”I won’t,” Yang Rusong shook his head firmly. ”I promise, no one will dare cause trouble at the school. Besides, it’s the school for the whole village—who would even think of doing that?” He smiled bitterly as he spoke.

”Alright,” Yang Ruxin nodded. ”Since you’ve made your decision, go ahead. When do you plan to move in?”

”Right now,” Yang Rusong grinned.

Yang Ruxin didn’t ask any further questions; she simply instructed Chun Hua to accompany Yang Rusong and help him settle in at the school.

To be honest, Yang Rusong’s decision didn’t surprise her at all. With the people living in the old house, it was obvious—if Yang Rusong could distance himself from them, he might have a chance at standing tall again.

Of course, she didn’t intend to play the role of savior. It was simply his own awakening, and since it was within her means, she figured she may as well lend a helping hand. It didn’t take much effort, after all.

Watching the pair walk away, Yang Ruxin adjusted the cloak around her shoulders. Feeling rather cold, she decided she should hurry back home.

But after only taking two steps forward, she suddenly stopped, instinctively turning her head back. Her gaze met another pair of eyes that had yet to hide themselves. She furrowed her brows slightly, then calmly withdrew her gaze and continued walking.

”Xinxin...” That person had originally intended to secretly watch her from afar but hadn’t expected Yang Ruxin to be so alert. Since he’d been noticed, he figured he may as well step out.

”Guan Scholar,” Yang Ruxin smiled faintly, bending her knees slightly in a graceful gesture, ”No, I should address you as Guan Jieyuan. What brings you here?”
