The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1608: Chapter 1608: Recruitment Part 1 (2)

”You two never stop, do you?” Sanni’s embarrassment from earlier had long disappeared, and she rolled her eyes in exasperation. ”So fake...”

”I’m telling the truth.” Zhou Xiao reiterated, ”You know me, I never lie.”

”I’m telling the truth too!” Yang Ruxin hurriedly chimed in, swearing earnestly. ”My word is as good as gold!”

Du Juan’s mouth twitched: ”Miss, you’re just pretending.”

Poof! Sanni couldn’t help but laugh out loud: ”See? Someone can’t take it anymore, huh? Du Juan is really straightforward after all.”

”This one seems to be asking for her monthly wages to be docked.” Yang Ruxin sighed helplessly.

”Miss, I was wrong...” Du Juan immediately pleaded for mercy and then looked toward Sanni. ”Third Miss, I’m just a servant; I have to listen to my mistress...”

”You... your stance is too weak...”

Just as everyone was casually bantering, Ye Zhou’s voice came from outside: ”Someone’s here to apply.”

The group immediately quieted down. Du Juan went to open the door and ushered the person inside.

The weather outside was quite cold, and a gust of chilly air rushed in, making everyone involuntarily shiver.

To Yang Ruxin’s surprise, the first person who came in turned out to be Yang Rusong.

Yang Rusong had actually circled around outside the school several times before finally gathering enough courage to enter. He had no choice—he had to find a way forward for himself.

The warmth inside the room made him sigh with relief.

”Cousin? Why is it you?” Sanni was the first to ask.

”I...” Yang Rusong’s face turned bright red.

Yang Ruxin didn’t speak; she simply looked at him calmly.

After a moment of awkwardness, Yang Rusong eventually raised his head: ”Cousin Ruxin, Mengmeng, I... I’m here to apply for the position of tutor.”

”Have a seat.” Yang Ruxin gestured.

Yang Rusong sat down in the chair.

”The tutors we’re hiring here need to have real knowledge and skills. Otherwise, you’d be misleading the students.” Yang Ruxin gave a slight smile. ”So, what do you think you can teach the children?”

”I can offer elementary education. I think I’ve learned the Four Books and Five Classics quite well...”

Yang Ruxin nodded and gestured: ”Then recite a passage you like the most.”

Yang Rusong stood up, walked over to the nearby desk, picked up the brush, and wrote down a passage: ”Confucius said, ’When three people walk together, there’s always something to learn from others. Choose the good and follow it; if it’s not good, then change oneself accordingly.’”

Yang Ruxin glanced at Sanni.

”For tutors here, the monthly wages are one tael of silver, and we provide clothing, shoes, and socks for all four seasons, plus food and accommodation...” Sanni began counting on her fingers as she explained the school’s benefits and rules to Yang Rusong. ”Here’s our employment contract; all the reward and punishment terms, as well as the rules, are written in it. If you decide to stay, you’ll need to fill in the necessary details and sign your name. Afterward, we’ll also register it at the Governor’s Office.”

Yang Rusong was momentarily stunned but quickly lit up with excitement, though he still looked toward Yang Ruxin.

”Any other questions?” Yang Ruxin raised her eyebrow slightly.

Yang Rusong shook his head hurriedly.

At this moment, someone else arrived.

”You can go to the room next door to read the contract.” Yang Ruxin gestured to Chun Hua.

Chun Hua politely guided Yang Rusong to the adjacent room.

The next person to enter was a lean middle-aged man with a mustache that resembled the character ”八” (eight). Strangely enough, he was carrying an abacus in his hand.
