The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 292: Chapter 292: Teacher (Part 2)_1

The people who inquired about it were all shocked, ”A dose of medicine cost one silver? And the medicine needs to be taken daily? That’s thirty silvers a month? Goodness, isn’t that like throwing money into a pit?”

”Fortunately, Dani was lucky to have received some silver from Black Bear, but,” Li Yi sighed and shook his head, ”after getting through this month, I’m afraid there won’t be much left. If she doesn’t wake up soon, I’m afraid...” He paused, ”We’re all neighbors here, we’ve watched that child grow up, but even if we’re willing to help, how much can we actually help? So, the child is still pitiable...”

The inquirers all nodded in agreement and once again began to sympathize with the Yang Ruxin family.

Many people think this way, always liking to compare themselves with others. When the formerly pitiable kid suddenly surpassed them, they naturally felt resentment and dissatisfaction. But once that kid remained the same pitiable figure from before, they immediately felt compassion.

Therefore, those who had previously envied them also lost interest.

Doctor Wang also sighed and nodded, ”Yes, we’re all from the same village. Although our abilities are limited, we can still help a little, can’t we? That child is also very devoted to her filial duties. If it were someone else, they might have already abandoned their mother...”

The visitor was just someone who loved to snoop around. Hearing that help was needed, where would they be willing? They quickly found an excuse to leave, naturally going out to spread the news they had heard.

Yang Ruxin, of course, was unaware of the villagers’ concern for her family. At home, she happily made a rabbit hutch with her younger siblings, and after a lively dinner, she went next door. She had decided that, in addition to practicing martial arts with Gu Yao, she would also start learning with Gu Qingheng.

She had mentioned several times before about learning from Gu Qingheng, but nothing came of it, so on the day Zhou Xiao and his sister arrived, after coming down from the mountain, she was ready to start her first lesson.

Gu Qingheng was naturally delighted and after briefly inquiring about Zhou Xiao and his sister’s situation, he took out the priming text ”Three-Character Classic” that he had prepared: ”Let’s begin with this.”

The corner of Yang Ruxin’s mouth twitched. She could recite this text when she was three years old, but of course, she couldn’t say that now. She even needed to hide her knowledge, and so she bowed earnestly to Gu Qingheng, ”Thank you, teacher. I will make sure to study hard and strive for progress every day.”

”You’re calling me ’teacher’?” Gu Qingheng raised an eyebrow slightly, as he had no desire to become her teacher.

”Yes, should I call you ’master’ instead? Or ’sir’?” Yang Ruxin frowned, could it be that ’teacher’ wasn’t a common term in this era?

”Teacher’ is fine, but there’s no need to say it,” Gu Qingheng shook his head. ’Teacher’ was a term of high respect. Once someone is called ’teacher’, it’s akin to being family, especially in the court, where being part of a sect is essentially a guise for forming factions.

”Why not say it? If you’re teaching me to read, aren’t you my teacher?” Yang Ruxin laughed, ”Heihei. Besides, isn’t there a saying that ’once a teacher, always a father’? Don’t worry, from now on, I’ll respect you just like a father...”

”Cough, cough...” Gu Qingheng choked on his own saliva. Is that really how the saying was supposed to be interpreted?

Gu Yao, on the other hand, laughed without any sense of propriety. He wondered if Yang Ruxin’s mind was alright. At the same time, he felt some sympathy for his big brother – the girl he had his eye on seemed a bit... simple.
