The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 83: Chapter 83: Silent Resentment_1

”This...” Yang Ruxin hesitated, since accepting someone’s hospitality could make one feel indebted, and no matter how thick-skinned she might be, she would feel uncomfortable.

”It’s just a bowl of noodles,” Gu Qingheng said with a smile.

”Okay then,” Yang Ruxin wasn’t fussy; after all, she had silver now but couldn’t spend it openly. The reason she dared to go in and have some noodles was that a bowl only cost five or six coins, an amount even the poorest family could afford.

The most expensive dish in the noodle shop was shredded pork noodles, at six coins a bowl, followed by vegetable noodles at four coins, and egg noodles at five coins.

Gu Qingheng ordered three bowls of shredded pork noodles.

Truth be told, for Yang Ruxin, who was accustomed to various modern delicacies, the taste of these noodles wasn’t so good, but she couldn’t bear the hunger—she hadn’t eaten her first meal of the day when she arrived in town. Although she had bought some food, she hadn’t had time to eat, so now she was extremely hungry.

Moreover, the food of this era was all-natural – even something boiled in plain water had a kind of natural fragrance, so she quickly finished off the bowl of noodles.

Not a drop of soup remained.

Gu Yao looked at the giant bowl of noodles that was emptied in the blink of an eye and couldn’t help but curl his lips. Was this hunger enough to resurrect a starving ghost?

”I haven’t eaten my fill like this in a long time.” Yang Ruxin ignored the disparaging look in Gu Yao’s eyes, satisfied as she patted her stomach, ”So comfortable...”

”Is that enough?” Although Gu Qingheng was blind, he still ate with elegance, clearly brought up with good manners from a young age, something intrinsic that couldn’t be faked. At the moment, he had only eaten half of his bowl of noodles.

”That’s enough,” Yang Ruxin replied with a smile. If she were the person from her past life, she could have had another bowl without a problem, but Yang Dani’s body couldn’t handle it. Having been starved previously, her stomach had shrunk to a point where her spirit was willing but her flesh was weak.

Gu Qingheng didn’t say anything further but bent his head and slowly finished the rest of his noodles. Then, taking out a handkerchief, he gracefully wiped the corner of his mouth, ”Let’s go then.”

Yang Ruxin couldn’t help but think of the phrase ”a feast for the eyes.”

People around had already noticed Gu Qingheng, but with a hint of sympathy, since such a pretty person was blind, and it seemed such a waste...

Yang Ruxin frowned slightly; she didn’t know why but she disliked others looking at him with pity. She glared back at them and then pushed Gu Qingheng towards the exit.

Gu Yao furrowed his brow. Wasn’t this his job?

As soon as they left the noodle shop, they saw Guan Qingshu standing not far away. His eyes were full of grievance as he stared at her.

Yang Ruxin felt annoyed. What was he implying? His look seemed like he had caught a cheating spouse, even though, as far as she was concerned, she had nothing to do with him.

Gu Yao glanced at Yang Ruxin: ”He’s looking for you...”

Gu Qingheng’s brow creased slightly.

Yang Ruxin didn’t want to deal with Guan Qingshu, so she turned around and walked towards the outskirts of town.

”Yang Dani, are you ignoring me because of him?” Guan Qingshu quickly walked a few steps and blocked Yang Ruxin’s path, pointing matter-of-factly at Gu Yao.

”Guan Qingshu, stop talking nonsense,” Gu Yao said anxiously. This was the woman his brother was interested in; how could he take her away? Moreover, he didn’t like the type that Yang Ruxin was—too fierce for his taste; he preferred gentle and delicate women.
