Yang Ruxin didn’t pay attention to Guan Qingshu, but Erni kept an eye on him and even nudged her at this moment, “Big sister, Guan Qingshu fell down and seems to be hurt.”

“I’m talking to you, Yang Erni.” It was then that Yang Ruxin finally glanced over and couldn’t help but sigh, “What exactly is going on with you and Sanni?”

Erni frowned, not understanding her elder sister’s meaning.

“When I paid attention to him, you all resented it, and now that I’ve let go and lost interest, why do you seem still dissatisfied?”

“I’m not,” Erni hastily waved her hands in protest when she heard this, “I was just…

I just mentioned it.” She didn’t have Sanni’s eloquence, and faced with such a question from her elder sister, she suddenly felt embarrassed, quickly lowering her head to work, but in her heart, she truly believed that what her big sister had said before was true, that she had indeed stopped focusing all her thoughts on Guan Qingshu.

The work of four people was fast, but as the sun rose higher, the temperature became hotter and hotter.

And there were always people passing by the roadside.

“Uncle, why are only a few of you working here?

Where are the second and the fourth brothers?

Didn’t they come back yesterday?” A dark-faced man carrying a hoe passed by the edge of the field, asking loudly.

It was the neighbor, Li Zhong.

“Haha, they’re on their way…” Yang Peili had an uncomfortable look on his face.

“That’s good, otherwise you few couldn’t finish the work,” Li Zhong said as he walked away.

Yang Ruxin wiped the sweat from her forehead and stood up to look over at Yang Peili, noticing that the old man looked rather unwell.

Indeed, Yang Family’s second and fourth brothers had been gone for two hours now, with no chance of returning, obviously shirking their duties.

As for the few at home, no one had come to bring them any water yet.

“Grandpa,” Yang Ruxin threw the wheat she was holding onto the ridge and then walked up to Yang Peili, “You just raise two sons, right?”

Yang Peili stood up frowning, looking at Yang Ruxin.

“Uncle Two and Uncle Four have been gone a long enough time to take a dump; I guess they can’t make it back, huh?” Yang Ruxin said mockingly, curling her lips.

“They…” Yang Peili’s face turned even more unsightly.

“Exactly, Dad, it’s too much for Second Brother and Fourth Brother to act like this,” Yang Baixiang also grew angry, for although he was honest, it didn’t mean he was stupid, “They just eat and laze around…”

“Let’s finish the work before we talk,” Yang Peili knew this wasn’t right but could only coax his son and granddaughter to complete the task before addressing the issue.

“We’re always the ones working, finishing everything; what do they do?

If that’s the case, we should rest too,” Yang Ruxin said, glancing at Yang Baixiang with a smile, “In such hot weather, if we get heatstroke, we’ll be the ones suffering.” She then called out to Erni, “Let’s go, if the adults won’t work, neither will we.”

“Big sister?” Erni looked at Yang Peili hesitantly.

“What’s the matter?” Yang Ruxin frowned, “The ones who don’t work get to enjoy their lives, while we who work have to endure beatings and hunger; we shouldn’t bother then, of course, if you want to continue working, you stay.”

Hearing this, Erni quickly ran to Yang Ruxin’s side.

“Dad, I’m not working either,” Yang Baixiang also mumbled discontentedly.

“You dare!” Yang Peili glared at him.

Yang Baixiang immediately shrank back a little.

“If Uncle Two and Uncle Four dare, why can’t we?” Yang Ruxin sneered coldly, “It goes top down, it’s not right to bully us like this.”

“You…” Yang Peili was infuriated.

Yang Ruxin, however, didn’t even look back and strode away.
