The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

100: Chapter 100 Absolutely MiraculousHan Jingyang actually felt a bit of regret.

He regretted performing the appraisal in advance.

If this older woman refused to sell even if it killed her, he would be at a massive loss.

Although the appraisal didn’t cost anything, who wouldn’t feel heartache watching such a treasure slip through their fingers?

But then again, without the appraisal, it would have been almost impossible to spend so much money on a statue of guan gong like this.

One could only say it was too coincidental; in a moment of excitement, he had clicked appraisal before it was even in his hands.

Now, he could only try his best to haggle.

Every little bit he could knock off the price counted, but if he couldn’t lower it at all, he would still have to pay those six hundred thousand yuan.

Forget six hundred thousand—even for six million, he would be willing to pay.

A skill like ”Guan Gong Manifestation” was a rare find.

Similarly, Grade Four items were also rare.

Buying it for six million wouldn’t even be a loss.

However, if he could spend less, he naturally wanted to spend less.

Business was not charity.

As for the older woman’s claim that she bought it for six hundred thousand, that was just her side of the story; who knew if it was true or false?

Even if it were true, Han Jingyang wouldn’t budge.

Just as Wang Zhiwei and Xu Xin had said, business was business.

The curly-haired woman hesitated for a moment and held up five fingers: ”Five hundred thousand. I’ll take a hundred thousand loss, what do you think?”

Han Jingyang shook his head without a second thought: ”Auntie, that’s not how business works. How much you lose is your own business; I can’t do a loss-making deal. I’m offering three hundred thousand, which is already very generous. I’m buying it for my own collection because I like the art style, but you can’t treat me like a pushover, right?”

”But...”

”How about this, I’ll add another twenty thousand. Three hundred and twenty thousand. If you’re still not satisfied, go look elsewhere and see if anyone can offer a higher price.”

As Han Jingyang spoke, he checked his phone: ”Auntie, it’s late at night and I have things to do. By the way, why are you out selling things so late?”

”I... I’ve been out since this morning.”

”Oh, so you’ve been wandering around all day and haven’t sold it.”

”Yes, I saw your lights were still on when I was getting ready to head back...”

”Auntie, you’re in urgent need of money, aren’t you?”

”Sigh, yes. My child is getting ready to buy a house for marriage and is still short on the down payment. Plus the car, the betrothal gifts, and all sorts of other expenses, it’ll take at least five hundred thousand.”

”...”

Han Jingyang didn’t know what to say for a moment.

No wonder she hadn’t gone home so late.

However, it was almost impossible to sell this item for five hundred thousand unless she met someone who truly knew its worth.

One could only say that parents’ devotion is truly pitiful; they wish they could handle everything for their children, and for their sake, they are willing to pour out their hearts and drain themselves dry.

He wondered if this woman’s son even knew about this.

Should he...?

Han Jingyang sighed: ”It’s not easy for you. How about this, I’ll make one more concession. Four hundred thousand. You’ll have to figure out the rest yourself, or let your child figure it out. Someone who is about to start a family and get married should have some responsibility. A mother shouldn’t just blindly spoil her child. You can sell a decoration now, but what about later? Right?”

”Can’t you add a little more?”

”I really can’t, Auntie. I’ve already conceded a lot.”

While they were talking, Wang Zhiwei called: ”Brother, I’m at the hospital entrance. Where are you?”

”Preparing to head out, I’ll be there soon.”

”Alright.”

Hanging up the phone, he gestured with it toward the curly-haired woman: ”Auntie, if you’re really not satisfied, then go look elsewhere? I really have something to do; I’m going to the hospital to visit a patient.”

The curly-haired woman hesitated for a moment, then nodded heavily.

Han Jingyang quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

He finally got it.

Although it was a hundred thousand more expensive than expected, compared to this statue, it was simply not worth mentioning.

He saw the woman out.

Han Jingyang quickly packed up to head out.

Before leaving, he thought about it and decided to bring the jade guan gong statue he had just acquired.

Better safe than sorry, just in case.

At the hospital entrance.

He met up with Wang Zhiwei and didn’t waste any words, asking directly about the situation.

Wang Zhiwei was even more blunt: ”Still no results. The whole family is at their wits’ end and is looking everywhere for folk remedies.”

”Oh? They haven’t already invited someone else, have they?”

”No, no. It’s not like I don’t know your rules; I explained it to them long ago. They just want to have a backup plan in case you’re also powerless, so they can quickly have someone else step in. It’s only human.”

That was understandable.

It was normal to have a backup.

If this hospital couldn’t cure my illness, I’d go to another one; no one could say anything about that.

As long as the doctors from the two hospitals didn’t meet, there wouldn’t be a problem.

He followed Wang Zhiwei into the ward.

The quiet ward immediately became noisy.

It wasn’t a private room, but a four-person ward.

Makes sense.

Medical resources are very tight nowadays; often, even if you have money, you might not necessarily find a good room.

Besides, having money isn’t the same as having connections. Without connections in the hospital, finding a private room is truly not easy, because there are far too many wealthy people in Quancheng. A businessman of Wang Zhiwei’s level really didn’t count for much.

Han Jingyang ignored the chaos and glanced at the crowd: ”Which one is the patient?”

”Over here, over here.”

”Name?”

”Wang Qiang.”

”Age?”

”Forty-nine.”

”Birth date?”

”...”

As Han Jingyang asked, he set up a makeshift altar by the bedside.

In reality, he just placed a Buddha statue, an incense burner, and offerings on a chair, lit some sandalwood incense, held the compass in his left hand and the sanqing bell in his right, and softly chanted Wang Qiang’s name while ringing the bell.

After about three minutes, he picked up the Buddha statue with both hands and placed it at the head of Wang Qiang’s bed.

Only then did he turn back and say: ”It’s done. He should wake up by tomorrow night at the latest. Do not move the Buddha statue before he wakes up.”

When he finished, he saw everyone staring dumbfounded, as if they had seen an alien.

What happened?

Han Jingyang was suspicious, but he didn’t want to lose his air of mystery, so he just gave a faint ”cough.”

Everyone, including Liu Jing, suddenly snapped out of it.

Wang Zhiwei sincerely gave a thumbs up: ”Mr. Han truly lives up to his reputation.”

Wang Qiang’s family also nodded repeatedly: ”Mr. Han is amazing.”

”Impressive.”

”This move is miraculous.”

”If I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn’t have believed such a thing could exist in this world.”

”This is a true master of the occult.”

”The way of Feng Shui is indeed unfathomable.”

Liu Jing was also very excited: ”Boss, your strength is getting greater and greater.”

Han Jingyang was even more confused.

The patient hasn’t even woken up yet, why are they starting to flatter me?

Even Wang Zhiwei and Liu Jing were flattering him so intensely.

What on earth did they see?

However, at this moment, in front of the patient’s family and other patients and their families, it wasn’t easy to ask clearly. He could only nod slightly: ”A small trick, not worth mentioning. If there’s a chance in the future, I’ll show you a grander scene.” After saying that, he spoke to Wang Qiang’s wife: ”Is there anything else you need?”

”Yes, yes, Master, can you make him wake up as soon as possible?”

”I can, but it will cost more money.”

”How much more?”

”A lot. I suggest you be patient. There’s no difference between waking up early or late, but it can save a lot of money.”

”What about that Buddha statue?”
