The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

86: Chapter 86 Ghostly EncounterHan Jingyang was startled by Tongtong’s scream.

But there was no response from the other end of the phone.

The call hadn’t been hung up.

Yet, there was no sound at all.

Interesting.

However, it certainly wasn’t a ghostly encounter.

Because, in this world, there really is no such existence that can think, reason, feel emotions, and possess special abilities like a human.

So Han Jingyang wasn’t worried; he hung up the phone, turned around, and headed toward Tongtong’s villa.

When he arrived, everything looked normal.

He parked the car, walked near Tongtong’s villa, and from a distance, he saw Tongtong lying motionless at the villa’s main entrance.

Unconscious?

Did she run straight into it?

Did she encounter the legendary Ghost Wall?

Worried that something might have happened to Tongtong, Han Jingyang quickened his pace and ran toward her.

After running a dozen steps, he suddenly froze in place.

The hair on his body stood on end.

A chill pierced straight through his pores.

Why is it still so far away?

Based on my stride, I should have reached Tongtong by now.

Did I get hit?

Such a powerful Ghost Wall?

And wearing two protective items is useless?

Or is it that... protective items are ineffective against the Ghost Wall?

That makes sense; the Ghost Wall is similar to an illusion and doesn’t cause direct harm, so it’s normal that it wouldn’t trigger the defensive mechanisms of the two protective items.

So, what I need to do now is actually stay calm?

Tongtong has been running for over half an hour and is still wandering around the villa entrance, which shows that the coverage of this Ghost Wall isn’t large.

I should be able to feel my way along the tiled path leading to the entrance.

Full of confidence, Han Jingyang got down and felt his way along the stone-tiled path toward the direction where Tongtong was.

One meter.

Two meters.

Five meters.

Seven or eight meters.

Ten meters...

Something’s not right. Why does it feel like I’m getting further away?

Wait, where’s Tongtong?

How did she disappear in the time it took to lower and raise my head?

Has my vision been tampered with?

No, it’s not just my vision that’s been tampered with; it’s also my sense of touch. Otherwise, I would have been able to move across by feeling the stone path.

The sensation is correct; it feels like a stone path, but I’m still lost, which only proves that my sense of touch is also compromised.

Realizing this, Han Jingyang panicked slightly and hurriedly took out his phone to open the map. Hmm, the map still works.

This time, if I follow the map, I should be able to walk out, right?

If I can’t move forward, then I’ll move backward; I need to get out of this damn place first.

If I had known it would be like this, I would have brought my compass. The compass specializes in countering these fancy tricks. The magnetic needle in the compass’s celestial pool is no mere decoration. Moreover, the compass naturally possesses navigational functions, corresponding to celestial stars above and mountains and waters below, and it can align with the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches, the Five Elements, the Eight Trigrams, and Yin and Yang. Its positioning function wouldn’t easily get disrupted.

Besides, my compass is a fifth-grade item. With the compass in hand, its powerful aura and energy might be enough to break this so-called Ghost Wall.

I underestimated the enemy.

From now on, I must bring the compass wherever I go.

Perhaps by using the Qi Observation attribute attached to the compass, I can see through the operating mechanism of this Ghost Wall directly.

If I can see through it, I can break it.

If I can break it, I have a chance to replicate it.

Thinking of this, Han Jingyang wasn’t so afraid anymore.

He followed the direction indicated by the phone map and retreated toward the perimeter of the villa.

One step, two steps, three steps...

Han Jingyang kept his eyes fixed on the phone map.

The pointer direction was correct.

It also showed that he was constantly moving toward the perimeter.

But after retreating dozens of steps, he still hadn’t exited.

This is a bit bad.

This Ghost Wall... is a bit strong.

Han Jingyang closed his eyes to calm himself for a while, then took off the dragon plaque from his neck.

With the dragon plaque in hand, he let out a sigh of relief.

He could clearly feel the carvings on the dragon plaque, see its attributes, and even see the green energy radiating from it.

This is also a fifth-grade item.

However, the green energy contained within the dragon plaque seemed to be suppressed by something, capable of radiating less than an inch.

A fifth-grade dragon plaque is like this.

The sixth-grade peace buckle is naturally useless as well.

As expected, Feng Shui metaphysics is the same as medicine; treating the root cause is most important.

If I had any item with the Evil-Warding attribute on me, this mere Ghost Wall would have already been reduced to ashes.

Han Jingyang put the dragon plaque back around his neck, took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and began to walk forward.

Walking one step at a time, leaving footprints.

Anyway, the open space at the villa entrance is only this big. As long as this Ghost Wall isn’t being controlled by someone, there’s a certain probability of walking out, and also a probability of finding Tongtong first.

Then, when the two of us think of a solution together, the probability of getting out will be higher.

Actually, Han Jingyang also knew that calling for help loudly was the most correct method. This Ghost Wall couldn’t block sight, and naturally, it couldn’t block sound either. Only the people within the covered range were affected; people outside the covered range were not affected.

Therefore, as long as he made some strange movements or emitted strange sounds, it would naturally attract passersby.

But he wasn’t willing to do that.

Because it was embarrassing.

A dignified master of metaphysics who could break the Feng Shui formation of the Dingshen Group building with a wave of his hand, could bring the dead back to life, and could catch ghosts and eliminate demons, yet he ended up being trapped by a mere Ghost Wall.

After being rescued, how would others view me?

How would Tongtong, my client, view me?

Even if she still employed me, she would definitely become suspicious.

It’s bad for my reputation.

Unless there was really no other way, he wouldn’t easily call for help.

Han Jingyang stopped with every step, and only after making sure there were no obstacles in front would he take the second step.

From time to time, he would also change his walking style, walking sideways, crawling, or even doing forward rolls or side rolls, trying as much as possible to break his behavioral habits.

When a person doesn’t even know how they will take their next step, even a god would have a headache, right?

Sure enough.

After walking for who knows how long, Han Jingyang suddenly stepped on something soft. He crouched down and felt it with his hand—it was a person!

Tongtong!

He even felt along Tongtong’s body to the white crystal bracelet he had sold to her.

However, the white crystal bracelet that was originally supposed to last a month had already changed color, having absorbed too much malevolent energy. The transparent crystal beads had turned a hazy gray; wearing it now would do more harm than good.

He tore off the bracelet and threw it far away, then pinched Tongtong’s philtrum.

A few seconds later.

Tongtong groaned, slowly opened her eyes, and upon seeing Han Jingyang, she wept with joy, threw herself into his arms, and began to wail loudly.

Han Jingyang took a deep breath, forcing himself to forget the warm and soft sensation coming from his arms, and patted Tongtong’s back: ”Don’t cry, calm down. We haven’t escaped the danger yet.”

”Ah?” Tongtong was greatly alarmed: ”Then, then how did you get in?”

”I saw you unconscious at the entrance, and afraid you were hurt, I rushed in. It took a lot of effort to feel my way here.”

”Could it be that even you are helpless against the situation here?”

Han Jingyang shook his head: ”All my skills reside in those dharma instruments. I forgot to bring my gear when I came. If I had my gear, breaking this formation would be effortless. Without my gear, I’m not much stronger than an ordinary person.”

As he said this, he felt somewhat ashamed inside.

Without my gear, I’m not just not much stronger than an ordinary person; I am an ordinary person.

Liu Jing personally certified that.

It’s just that I need to save some face in front of a beauty.

To avoid damaging my reputation.

Tongtong then asked in a panic: ”Then what should we do now? Is there any way to call for help?”
