The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

62: Chapter 62 is stupidHan Jingyang and Liu Jing had just returned to Jiguang Zhai when they saw He Zhifei, who had previously left, rushing back in like a madman.

He said bluntly, ”Second He, don’t waste your effort. Even if you were to give Dingshen Group to me, I wouldn’t help you with even a single thing. Go back to where you came from.”

However, He Zhifei said anxiously, ”The Dingshen Group building is on fire, and it’s a huge blaze. Did you do this?”

Han Jingyang raised an eyebrow, ”On fire?”

Then he sneered, ”Second He, you think too highly of me.”

”Feng shui, you understand feng shui.”

”Feng shui is metaphysics, not sorcery. It’s impossible to create something out of nothing, let alone ignite a fire from a distance. If feng shui and metaphysics were truly that powerful, perhaps we would still be under the rule of the Qing Dynasty.”

”Then why is it such a coincidence?”

”Who knows? Perhaps even the Heavens couldn’t stand it anymore,” Han Jingyang sneered. ”Second He, considering you were still somewhat polite, I’ll give you a reminder: you should be happy that I rejected you so directly, rather than coming here to hold me accountable. Because if I had pretended to agree and then taken the opportunity to cause trouble, you would only end up dying even more miserably.”

Having said this, he tapped the table, ”Since you know that feng shui practitioners are not to be trifled with, the best way is to stay away from them. Even Confucius said to respect spirits and gods but keep them at a distance, let alone ordinary people.”

This was a heartfelt piece of advice from Han Jingyang.

Ordinary people should have the self-awareness of ordinary people; do not try to come into contact with people and matters that you are unfamiliar with and that are dangerous.

But saying it at this moment was a bit cutting.

Oh, so He Dingkun could make contact, but He Dingkun’s son cannot?

Sure enough, He Zhifei’s expression changed slightly. He snorted, turned around, and walked away, but didn’t forget to look back and point at Han Jingyang, saying, ”Mr. Han, I will come to visit again.”

The words were polite, but his attitude was out of control; it was almost a blatant threat.

What was the point? Fighting like an elementary school student?

Is it satisfying to have to make a harsh threat before leaving?

Aside from making the enemy more vigilant, what practical significance does it have?

Truly, very stupid.

Han Jingyang shook his head slightly, watched He Zhifei leave, and then turned to Liu Jing, saying, ”You’ve worked hard these past few days. Go back and rest; I’ll give you some time off.”

”Boss, what about you?”

”I’ll do whatever I need to do.”

”No, I mean if I go back, who will protect you?”

”I’m not some big shot; I don’t need a bodyguard. The situation has been special these past two days. Now that He Dingkun’s life or death is unknown and the two He brothers have plenty of trouble, I couldn’t be safer.”

”Are you sure?”

”I’m sure. Go on back,” Han Jingyang patted the bronze dagger he kept by his side. ”Besides, it’s not like I don’t have the ability to protect myself.”

Only then did Liu Jing nod. ”I’ll go back to take a shower and change my clothes.”

Han Jingyang waited for Liu Jing to leave, closed the shop door, and prepared to catch up on sleep.

But before he could fall asleep, his phone rang. It was Liu Jing calling. ”Boss, there’s something I’d like to ask.”

”Go ahead and ask.”

”Um, someone wants to buy that fan face.”

”What kind of people?”

”A man and a woman. I don’t know their specific identities.”

”How much are they offering?”

”One million.”

”Sell it.”

”Huh?” Liu Jing was stunned. ”What about my grandmother?”

”The fan face has very little effect now. I’ll get you a better one later.”

”This…”

”Don’t dither, sell it quickly.”

Liu Jing still had concerns. ”What if it’s He Dingkun’s people?”

”Sell it all the same. That fan face is a low-level dharma instrument, practically disposable. It won’t be of much use even if He Dingkun buys it. If they don’t place it in the right position, it might even have a counterproductive effect.”

”Then I’ll agree to it.”

”Yes, hurry up. Don’t miss such a good opportunity. Buying it for three hundred thousand and selling it for one million after using it—you’ve made a killing, haven’t you?”

”Thank you, Boss.”

Han Jingyang hung up the phone and sighed.

Situations like this would definitely not be rare in the future—flipping items. Because those people don’t understand the true nature of these items, they always assume they are the dharma instruments they know of, thinking they can use them as soon as they buy them, unaware that there is such a thing as a skill cooldown.

Although he didn’t yet know the exact cooldown time for these skills, he could be certain that it was definitely not short.

Because the essence of these items is a cycle of releasing energy—accumulating energy—releasing energy.

For example, the fan face he sold to Liu Jing is a seventh-grade item, and its aura is white. After releasing its skill, the white aura is almost completely empty. To release the skill again, it needs to slowly absorb enough white aura, which is recharging.

However, he had observed carefully that the recharging speed of seventh-grade items is very slow—painfully slow.

Taking that fan face as an example again, under normal circumstances, it might not even be fully charged in ten years.

Sixth-grade ones aren’t much faster.

Fifth-grade ones are a little bit faster.

Third-grade ones are not bad; their recharging speed is quite fast. But correspondingly, the skill mana consumption of third-grade items is also high, so it’s not that easy to fully charge them either.

Regardless, for him, those seventh-grade or even sixth-grade items can almost be treated as disposable items.

What’s the difference between a skill that can only be used once every ten years and a disposable one?

Of course, for small households, having such a treasure in the family, using it once every ten years is also quite good. After all, a family only has one or two elderly people, so taking turns using it is enough. As long as normal people are in good health, they can live for many more years.

However, Liu Jing is now his capable assistant, and he certainly won’t treat this woman unfairly. He wouldn’t feel bad at all about giving her a seventh-grade or even sixth-grade item of the same type.

It’s just that he doesn’t have any suitable ones on hand right now.

...

Waking up, Han Jingyang saw a breaking news story on his phone.

A fire occurred at the Dingshen Group building in Quancheng. There were no deaths, dozens were injured, and two were seriously injured. The area affected by the fire was nearly a thousand square meters, with a full four or five floors impacted. The direct property damage is nearly one hundred million yuan, and the person in charge of the company has been detained.

Han Jingyang breathed a sigh of relief.

No lives were lost, which is good.

He Zhifei being detained is even better.

Nearly one hundred million yuan in direct property damage—this is the best news among all the good news.

That’s just the direct property damage; what about the indirect losses? Such as compensation, fines, lost work hours, renovations, and asset depreciation, among other losses.

This fire likely burned away one-third of Dingshen Group’s wealth.

It’s not an exaggeration at all, because the building was built by Dingshen Group itself. The land and the building are all counted as assets of Dingshen Group, and they are a very important part.

Thinking of this, Han Jingyang stretched, his mood as happy as it could possibly be; he almost wanted to sing a song of ”Today is a Good Day.”

However, before he could sing, his phone rang. This time, it was Zhou Yucheng calling.

On the phone, Zhou Yucheng’s voice was also very excited, ”Brother, have you seen the news?”

”Are you talking about the Dingshen Group building incident?”

”Hehe, yes. But I also heard some gossip—He Dingkun is about to kick the bucket.”

”Then I’ll congratulate you in advance.”

”It’s a bit too early to congratulate me now. He Dingkun still has two sons and a daughter, and Dingshen Group is still around; its strength should not be underestimated.”

Han Jingyang laughed, ”When bad luck hits a person, even the gods can’t stop it. Perhaps this big fire is just the beginning.”

Zhou Yucheng froze for a moment, then suddenly shivered and blurted out, ”Brother, was it you?”
