The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

54: Chapter 54 Qing Dynasty Kangxi Bronze Incense BurnerWhile Han Jingyang was hesitating, the man in camouflage, who was carefully taking small sips from a water glass, spoke up: ”Boss, I definitely can’t take this back with me. Just give me whatever you can.”

Han Jingyang nodded slightly. ”Have you asked at other shops?”

”No, the fewer people who know about this stuff, the better.”

”How did you find your way here?”

”I originally planned to just find any shop to sell it, but as I walked past, your place looked pleasing to the eye, so I turned in. Turns out I wasn’t wrong; both you and this young lady are good people.”

”Good people?”

The man in camouflage bared his yellow-black teeth and smiled. ”People like me usually don’t dare enter places like this. We get looked down on. Although most people don’t say it, their eyes and movements... but you didn’t show any disdain at all. You even poured me water, and you didn’t use a disposable paper cup, but a crystal one.”

”What crystal cup? It’s just a regular glass cup.”

”Little boss, don’t joke with me. I have a set of these at home too. They aren’t expensive, but I’ve worked on construction sites for years—what kind of glass haven’t I seen?” The man laughed. ”We might be filthy, but that doesn’t necessarily mean we’re poor. I earn a hundred and forty or fifty thousand a year on the site, and my son and daughter are both successful; they can earn over a hundred thousand too.”

When mentioning his children, a happy smile appeared on the man’s face.

Han Jingyang raised an eyebrow. This man in camouflage was truly... different.

At least, he was different from the migrant workers in his memory.

But he also felt something wasn’t quite right.

At this moment, the man continued, ”Little boss, give me a price. If it’s fair, I’ll leave it here.”

Han Jingyang asked in return, ”How much do you want for it?”

”This vase... is eighty thousand okay?”

Han Jingyang shook his head. ”How about this: let me look at the other items first, and I’ll give you a total at the end. I’ll take them all, good or bad, so you don’t have to run around carrying all this. it’s too eye-catching.”

”Good, good. Thank you.”

Han Jingyang took the items out of the basket one by one and placed them on the coffee table.

There were eleven items in total.

Five pieces of porcelain.

Two jade pieces.

A gilt-bronze Tibetan Bodhisattva statue.

A bronze incense burner.

A dagger.

A silver bracelet.

They were all freshly unearthed items. This kind of patina couldn’t be faked; the patina formed by being buried in the earth for one or two hundred years cannot be imitated no matter what. Those fakes made with high-tech methods can only look as similar as possible, and can only fool laymen and amateurs. Someone who truly knows the trade can tell at a glance.

Han Jingyang had seen plenty of freshly unearthed items during his school days. He was spot on when looking at these things; he didn’t even need to use theoretical knowledge, he could tell by intuition.

Furthermore, after looking them over, he could confirm the origin of these items. If nothing was amiss, these things came from the grave of some minor landlord from the late Qing or early Republican period.

The risk for such items was relatively small. After all, no matter how much free time the authorities had, they wouldn’t relentlessly pursue the burial goods of a minor landlord.

They couldn’t even keep up with the tombs of princes and nobles.

Thinking of this, Han Jingyang said to the man, ”The items are fine, but they are indeed a bit ’hot.’ They’ll be troublesome to handle. I can only offer six hundred thousand. Do you accept?”

”How... how much?”

The man was stunned. He stood up abruptly, not even noticing that he had spilled water all over himself.

Han Jingyang gestured a ’six’. ”Six hundred thousand. This price isn’t extremely high, but you won’t find a higher price in the entire market. If you don’t believe me, you can go try.”

”I believe you, I believe you! Sold, I’ll sell them all to you.”

”Bank transfer?”

”Bank transfer.”

Han Jingyang didn’t dawdle and transferred the money directly to the man.

Six hundred thousand, not a penny more, not a penny less.

When the man checked his bank balance, he was so excited he didn’t know where to put his hands, repeatedly thanking Han Jingyang.

As he was about to leave, he hesitated for a long time before whispering, ”Actually, there are some other items in that pit that look even more valuable, but they were taken by our team leader. If you’re interested, you can look for him.”

After saying this, he left a phone number and dashed away.

Only then did Liu Jing approach the table. ”Boss, are they good items?”

”Yes, good items.”

”Are there any that can be Consecrated?”

”More than one,” Han Jingyang gestured over the coffee table. ”At least half have the potential to become dharma instruments.”

”Really?” Liu Jing was also overjoyed. ”I thought you were just taking pity on that migrant worker.”

”There has to be a limit to charity. Six hundred thousand is no small amount.”

”True,” Liu Jing said happily. ”Then how much can we make from this batch?”

”I’m not sure yet, but over a million is definitely no problem.”

It was far more than just over a million.

Over ten million would be no problem.

Even if all the items identified were the lowest Grade 7 items without skills, six pieces added up would be a significant sum.

As long as one of them unlocked a skill, the total value of this batch would steadily exceed ten million.

What did this mean?

A tenfold profit.

Of course, they were only this valuable in his hands.

In other antique shops, the total value of this batch would probably be around two million. After deducting taxes and other expenses, the final net profit would be about five or six hundred thousand.

But there was no need to tell Liu Jing this, no matter how much he trusted this gutsy and hardworking woman.

However, Liu Jing was also very happy. ”Boss, you have to treat me!”

”Sure, after this busy period, I’ll treat you to a tour around the country.”

”Paid leave?”

”Paid leave!”

”It’s a deal!”

Han Jingyang finished dealing with Liu Jing and then began his identification in a formal manner.

”Name: Qing Qianlong Blue and White Sea Water Cloud Dragon Pattern Plum Vase.”

”Grade: 6.”

”Attribute: Wealth +5.”

”Skill: None.”

The grade and attribute were good; it was a bit of a pity there was no skill.

But it was still a quite good Feng Shui display piece, whether sold to someone else or kept for personal use.

”Name: Qing Daoguang Gilt-Bronze Standing Guanyin Statue.”

”Grade: 6.”

”Attribute: Serenity +4.”

”Skill: Buddhas Light Illuminating All.”

Grade 6, with a skill.

Although he didn’t know the specific effect, as the name suggested, it should be quite good.

And even without the skill, the ’Serenity +4’ attribute alone could make this guanyin statue an excellent Feng Shui piece.

Who wouldn’t want their home to be filled with a serene atmosphere?

”Name: Qing Kangxi Bronze Incense Burner.”

”Grade: 5.”

”Attribute: Mind-Clearing +7.”

”Skill: Spirit Binding and General Summoning.”

Seeing the attributes of this bronze incense burner, Han Jingyang was first delighted and then shocked, because the attributes of this incense burner gave him a bold idea.

If used well, perhaps he could deal another heavy blow to He Dingkun.

It might even be possible to take He Dingkun down directly.

After running through his idea in his mind, he could hardly wait to take action.

But he still held back and went through the remaining items.

Unfortunately, the remaining three were all the lowest Grade 7 items, which could only be used as consumables and wouldn’t be of much use.

After tidying up, he continued to study He Dingkun’s personal information to prepare for the next move.

But just before finishing work, he received a message from an unknown number: ”Boss, I’m Yang Jinhu’s foreman. I have a batch of good stuff to sell. Are you interested?”
