The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

85: Chapter 85 Save MeHan Jingyang hesitated for a few seconds, then looked up and said to Xu Xin, ”Boss Xu, this item is very dangerous, but it is indeed a good thing. Let’s put it this way: in my understanding, it is already a good item approaching a mid-level dharma instrument, and it is of great value.”

After saying this, he pushed it back in front of Xu Xin.

Xu Xin didn’t show any expression, just asked back, ”What do you mean by this, Mr. Han?”

”Let’s be friends. I didn’t know you before, but to be honest, I admire the brotherly bond you two have shown. Although it’s unlikely that I could become a brother to you, being friends is not a problem.”

Wang Zhiwei laughed, ”That’s a good thing! Who could refuse to be friends with someone like Mr. Han?”

”Just call me Xiao Han, like Old Zhou does.”

”Alright, I won’t stand on ceremony then. Xiao Han, from today on, you are a good friend of ours. If you need anything, just let us know. Of course, business is business, and friendship is friendship; these cannot be mixed up. We have the same arrangement with Old Deng.”

”Understood.”

Xu Xin revealed a faint smile, which flashed and vanished, then pushed the Arhat statue back to Han Jingyang, ”Little Brother, this Arhat statue is indeed a dharma instrument, but it is also truly an ominous object. It has been passed down in my family for four generations, and everyone died because of it. To use your words, it is an evil instrument. Only someone like you can suppress it. Take it.”

Han Jingyang nodded, ”It is indeed an evil instrument. It mainly targets one’s state of mind. It’s fine usually, but it can ruin important matters at critical moments.”

”Right. My father just couldn’t control his curiosity, took it out to fiddle with it for a little while, and then became restless and irritable, unable to sleep at night. The next morning, he rode his motorcycle to work and crashed into a tree, dying instantly.”

”How did you store it before?”

”There was a box made of golden nanmu wood. As long as it was put into that box, my mood would immediately calm down. It counts as a treasure itself, so I didn’t bring the box over.”

”It’s fine, I have a way. It doesn’t matter if I use a box or not.”

Han Jingyang certainly had a way.

He didn’t even need any props; he just needed to find a qi acupoint that could suppress its aura and energy, and place it there.

The core of the feng shui formation inside Jiguang Zhai is the Rank 3 Zhenwu Emperor, and there are other Rank 5 items assisting. Suppressing a Rank 5 Long-browed Arhat is easy.

Moreover, there are too many objects in reality that can constrain and suppress this kind of aura; even the glass counter in the shop has a certain binding power.

If this weren’t the case, the feng shui formation inside Jiguang Zhai would have exploded long ago.

This thing, if placed in the right position, can release its influence to the maximum extent.

But if placed in an unsuitable position, its influence is very limited.

For example, for the Rank 3 Zhenwu Emperor statue, one only needs to turn its orientation, letting the Zhenwu Emperor face inward and his back outward, and the aura and energy of the statue will instantly retract by more than half.

If Rank 3 items are like this, there is no need to mention Rank 5 or even lower-level items.

Therefore, this type of item is actually easy to handle.

You could even just find a brocade box to put it in and throw it in the storage room.

The only thing you cannot do is worship it.

The more spiritually potent an object is, the less you should mess around with it; the harm of messing around is far greater than not messing around at all.

If you don’t understand it, staying away is the correct answer.

Han Jingyang didn’t decline this time. He took the Long-browed Arhat statue, which was exuding green energy, and locked it in the safe in the back room.

After coming out, he asked, ”Deng Xingang is fine now, right?”

”He’s fine. He had a physical examination, and everything is normal. The doctors couldn’t say anything either, they could only tell him to rest well.”

”That’s good.”

Wang Zhiwei asked curiously, ”Little Brother, speaking of which, ahem, was that female ghost real?”

”Fake. It was something Deng Xingang imagined himself. The root cause was still the evil energy entering his body.”

”Is evil energy that scary?”

”Usually it’s not a big problem. Even if you occasionally come into contact with it, you’ll be fine after soaking up some sun. But Deng Xingang’s situation is a bit special; the evil energy invaded his brain. Well, in professional terms, it’s called damaging the primordial spirit, so it amplified the problem.”

Han Jingyang briefly explained Deng Xingang’s situation, using the same explanation he gave Liu Jing, just more concise, as long as they could understand.

Don’t understand?

It’s normal not to understand.

Metaphysics is not something ordinary people can touch.

As their relationship grew closer, Xu Xin talked more, chatting about many strange stories surrounding Deng Xingang’s situation.

There are too many such things among the folk.

Some are true.

Some are rumors passed down.

Some are made up on the spot by people to brag.

It is hard to distinguish the true from the false.

Only someone like me, who can see the essence of the world, can judge the truth of an event through fragments of information.

To put it bluntly, most of the stupidity in the world is caused by having too little information.

When a person can intuitively observe the operating essence of the world, no matter how unintelligent they are, they will appear very clever in front of those who cannot see anything.

People fear comparison the most.

It’s fine if there’s no comparison.

Once compared, the gap becomes apparent.

Isn’t that exactly me?

I haven’t learned anything about feng shui or metaphysics, yet in front of people like Zhou Yucheng, Wang Zhiwei, Xu Xin, Shen Yuhai, and even the monk Kongyun, I appear so unfathomable.

It’s not that I am inherently that powerful, but that I can easily access information that these people could never obtain in their entire lives.

Han Jingyang chatted with Wang Zhiwei and Xu Xin for over an hour, finishing just as it was getting dark.

He declined their invitation to eat barbecue, took Liu Jing home, agreed to meet at the airport tomorrow, and then headed home.

Just halfway home, his phone rang.

Seeing the caller ID, he immediately frowned.

Tongtong?

This woman calling at this hour, what does she want?

Treating him to a meal?

That would be fine at other times.

But now... it’s really inconvenient.

But he still had to answer the call; even if he refused, he should do it openly.

Just as he picked up and before he could speak, he heard Tongtong’s cry for help from the other side, ”Mr. Han, save me—”

”What’s the situation?”

”Save me, I, I am dying.”

”Where are you? Do you need an ambulance?”

”No, no ambulance, I, I’ve encountered a ghost...”

Encountered a ghost?

How did you encounter a ghost?

Why have there been so many strange things these past two days?

However, since she could make a phone call, it seemed the problem wasn’t too serious.

Han Jingyang pulled the car over to the side of the road and asked, ”What is your specific location?”

”I don’t know.”

”What about your approximate location?”

”It should be near my villa. I, I came out from the company, wanting to go see how the villa renovation was going, but after parking the car, I walked and walked and got lost. I have no idea where I am.”

”How long have you been lost?”

”I don’t know, one or two hours? My feet are blistered.”

”What time did you leave the company?”

”Around 5:30.”

”How long does it take to drive from the company to your villa?”

”Usually ten minutes, about forty minutes during evening rush hour.”

”It’s 6:50 now, and you’ve been walking for about half an hour, so it shouldn’t be a big problem. Listen, don’t walk anymore, squat down and rest to keep your energy up. Wait for me for twenty minutes, and I’ll go to your villa to check.”

”You, you come quickly, I, I think I heard the howling of something, and, and there are black shadows, ah—”
