Chapter 1499: Chapter 1498: Pinning Hopes on the Great-Grandson!

Old Patriarch of Lin Family looked towards him, at this moment she still did not know the events that had occurred at Lin Tiance’s evening banquet tonight.

Smilingly she said, ”Tiance, did Xiaoxue enjoy tonight’s banquet?”

Lin Tiance nodded, ”She was quite happy.”

”That’s good.” Old Patriarch of Lin Family laughingly said, ”I really like this girl Xiaoxue. Grandma asked you here today because I want you to turn rice into cooked rice with her as soon as possible.”

”Grandma, you want to hold a great-grandson, don’t you?”

”Moreover, the fact that you are not Master Lin has always been kept from her. Even though I personally ordered to block any news about this, allowing her to continue assuming that you are the real Master Lin, but we fear the unexpected could happen. If she learns about this matter beforehand, your wedding may face unforeseen troubles...”

She listed a whole bunch of reasons why Lin Tiance and Qiao Xue should turn rice into cooked rice.

This showed that she truly liked Qiao Xue.

She very much wanted her to be this grandson’s daughter-in-law, fearing she might run off.

Seeing this, Lin Tiance’s mother couldn’t help but say, ”It’s rare for the Old Patriarch to like a girl this much; Tiance, you should listen to Old Patriarch. You can’t miss out on this girl.”

Lin Tiance’s expression turned ugly, now unsure of how to explain the situation.

He too wanted to turn rice into cooked rice with Qiao Xue, but... he couldn’t.

He was hesitating, wondering whether to tell the Old Patriarch about it or not.

And just at this moment, Lin Zhankun suddenly received a message on his phone, and after reading it, his face was filled with rage.

”Tiance, what is this all about?” he asked, holding the phone up to Lin Tiance.

Both Old Patriarch and Lin Tiance’s mother Li Feng were curiously looking at him.

”Dear, what’s wrong?” asked Li Feng.

Lin Zhankun showed the phone to Old Patriarch and his wife Li Feng, who after seeing the message also frowned.

It turned out the message was about the incident at the banquet. The act of Lin Tiance kneeling to Lin Dong had already spread around the Capital City’s circle.

Even the scene had been caught in photos.

Now what Lin Zhankun and the others were looking at was this very message.

”Tiance, what’s going on? Why did you kneel and kowtow to someone else?” Lin Zhankun asked Lin Tiance.

This kind of thing had already sparked discussions within the Capital City’s circle and would cause huge damage to their family’s reputation.

Old Patriarch’s face also looked very bad; she had already recognized who the subject was.

”Tiance, why did you kneel to Lin Dong? Why did you invite Lin Dong to your banquet?”

Hearing the Old Patriarch’s tone, Lin Tiance knew even she was angry because of this incident, and he also felt panicky.

At this moment, he knew that some things could no longer be hidden.

So he frankly said, ”Grandma, that Lin Dong went too far. I invited him to my banquet, but I didn’t expect him to...he actually assaulted me, destroying my capability as a man.”

”He even said if I didn’t kowtow to him, he would make me an eunuch forever.”

”I had no choice but to kowtow to him!”

Hearing this, all three faces grew even uglier.

Li Feng urgently asked, ”So now, have you recovered yet?”

This was a matter concerning whether her son could continue the family line; naturally, as a mother, she was extremely nervous.

Lin Tiance shook his head.

Upon seeing this, Lin Zhankun flew into a rage, smashing the table and chairs in front of him and shouted loudly, ”How could Lin Dong be so excessively insolent? Old Ancestor, can you really stomach this?”

The face of the Old Patriarch of the Lin family was extremely gloomy. She looked at her grandson, Lin Tiance, and said, ”Tian Ce, I want the whole story, every single detail. No lying is allowed.”

Lin Tiance was momentarily startled before quickly responding, ”Yes, Grandma.”

He knew he couldn’t hide his intentions from the Old Patriarch, so he disclosed everything without any deception.

”Grandma, I invited Lin Dong to my evening banquet mainly because I couldn’t swallow my pride. Thus, I prepared to humiliate him.”

”I originally planned to use Qiao Xue to disgrace him, but who would have thought that it seemed like Qiao Xue and Lin Dong had been in cahoots behind my back? I even suspected that Lin Dong and Qiao Xue had an affair...”

When he reached this point, the Old Patriarch of the Lin family narrowed her eyes and coldly said:

”That’s impossible. I have always had someone secretly watching Qiao Xue. You don’t need to worry about that.”

”During your four months of seclusion, she had very few chances to meet Lin Dong, and even when they met, nothing happened. In fact, Qiao Xue’s attitude toward Lin Dong has always been rather poor...”

Upon hearing this, Lin Tiance nodded and also felt relieved.

He then continued, ”If that plan failed, I thought of another idea. I threatened him with his girlfriend Qiao Bing’s life, saying that after he died, I would go after Qiao Bing. If he didn’t kowtow and beg for mercy, I would take Qiao Bing’s life.”

”After hearing this, he became extremely angered and used an Ice Soul Silver Needle to destroy my ability as a man. He demanded that I kowtow and beg for mercy before he would heal me.”

”I had no choice but to kowtow and beg.”

”However, after I did all this, he told me that my male capabilities would recover on their own in three months...”

After hearing all this, a barely detectable hint of disappointment flickered through the eyes of the Old Patriarch of the Lin family.

Then she spoke in a heavy tone, ”Why did you have to provoke him? Wouldn’t it have been better just to wait for King Kunlun to kill him shortly afterward?”

”With your current level, how could you possibly fight against him?”

”You had a good beginning, yet you sought trouble on your own. With this behavior, how will you ever take over the entire Lin family? In your hands, can the Lin family maintain its momentum as one of the top martial arts families in Dragon Country?”

Such reprimand was, to be fair, quite rare. Lin Tiance hurriedly knelt down with a thump before the Old Patriarch of the Lin family.

”Grandma, Grandma, I know I was wrong. It’s just that I couldn’t hold back my anger before.”

”I promise, I won’t provoke him in the future. I’ll just wait for my master, King Kunlun, to kill him.”

The Old Patriarch of the Lin family tapped the floor with her dragon head walking stick and sighed.

”I originally wanted you and Xiaoxue to turn rice into cooked rice sooner, but now that you’ve become half a eunuch, it seems I can’t count on that.”

Lin Tiance bowed his head, his face flushing with shame.

”Grandma, after three months, once I restore my manhood and regain my strength, I will make sure you hold a great-grandson early, just as you wish,” Lin Tiance hurriedly said.

Upon hearing this, the expression on the face of the Old Patriarch of the Lin family softened a bit.

”Alright, all of you go out. I’m tired.” The Old Patriarch of the Lin family waved her walking stick, indicating for Lin Tiance and the others to leave.

Lin Tiance nodded, then left the ancestral home along with Lin Zhankun and Li Feng.

Before they even got outside, they could hear Lin Zhankun scolding angrily, ”Look at what you’ve done, stirring up such trouble, making your grandmother so unhappy.”

The face of the Old Patriarch of the Lin family looked extremely displeased.

”A son who’s no good, a grandson who’s useless. Lin Zhantian and Lin Dong are indeed formidable, but it’s a pity... ah, old man, I just can’t be as magnanimous as you were.”

”What am I supposed to do now? Perhaps, it’s all fate. An empire is crumbling, and I, an old woman, how can I support it?”

”All I can do now is pin my hopes on my great-grandson.”

”If I could have a sage great-grandson to prosper the Lin family for three hundred more years, then this old woman, even if after death I’m taken to Yincang hell to be crushed and scattered by your old man, how would that matter?”
