Chapter 1456: Chapter 1455 You Guys Have Let Me Down!

Lin Dong had already led the Piranha Special Operations Team back to Base Number Five.

Once they were back, he turned to Tang Jun and the other team members and asked, ”You guys just witnessed the strength of the Nanyang Jade Country’s White Elephant Special Forces. Do you feel confident about winning against them?”

Tang Jun laughingly said, ”Instructor, with the White Elephant Special Forces’ strength, we don’t even need to use our full capabilities to crush them with a three to zero score.”

”Good,” Lin Dong nodded, ”But still, don’t be careless, and for the first match, try to win more impressively.”

”The Dragon Country War Department, after today, also needs an impressive external victory to boost our soldiers’ morale.”

”Yes!” Tang Jun replied firmly, immediately turning to the Special Combat Team members behind him, ”Did everyone hear the instructor’s words?”

Everyone responded, ”Understood!”

Lin Dong nodded, ”Okay, then I’ll take my leave first. I’ll come over early tomorrow.”

Since there were no competitions tonight, Lin Dong planned to leave the War Department early.

He was thinking of alchemizing some Resuscitating Pills that night!

Simultaneously, to concoct some Nine Rebirth Pills and other Dan medicines for healing wounds.

Today, there were only five matches, but during the battles, many were injured, some even losing an arm outright.

Lin Dong thought if he could concoct more Dan medicines, he could also help in their recovery and treatment.

Though the War Department had its military doctors for treatment, none was as effective as his Dan medicines.

Leaving Base Number Five, Lin Dong coincidentally ran into the returning Qilin Special Forces.

At the moment, each member of the Qilin Special Forces was hanging their head low, their faces devoid of light.

Originally, they had hoped to make a startling statement today, but to their surprise, the result was not only far from shocking but had also resulted in a complete loss of dignity.

The Qilin Special Forces vs. the Black Elephant Special Forces Team had been a match everyone felt they had a seventy percent chance of winning.

Yet, they ended up losing.

And it was a clean sweep loss by three to zero.

Right after the match, they were mocked by the Black Elephant Special Forces, saying they were nothing special.

On their way back, they also encountered many other special forces members from Dragon Country who looked at them with weird gazes.

Though nothing was explicitly said, it left a bitter taste in their mouths, feeling like everyone they encountered was ridiculing them.

When they saw Lin Dong coming their way, all turned their gaze towards him.

And Lin Dong, in turn, looked at them and then said, ”Your pride is too high. Losing a match in the competition might be a good thing.”

”After all, the most you suffer on the competition field is injury.”

”If you were to lose on a real battlefield, what you’d lose would be your life.”

Hearing these words, some members of the Qilin Special Forces shamefully hung their heads, but others, at that moment, felt that Lin Dong was mocking them.

For instance, Captain Xiao Long of the Qilin Special Combat Force said to Lin Dong:

”War God Lin, there’s no need for your cold remarks here.”

”We’ve lost, and indeed, we’ve lost face. But if you are speaking to us as the instructor of the Piranha Special Operations Team, you don’t seem to have the position to do so.”

”After all, the performance of your Piranha Special Operations Team is definitely not better than ours. You yourselves are facing off against the White Elephant Special Forces tomorrow, and who knows how badly you might lose.”

Lin Dong heard Captain Xiao Long remain so proud, even at such a time, still unwilling to accept defeat.

He shook his head, disappointed, ”Xiao Long, and all other members of the Qilin Special Combat Force, do you think the words I spoke just now were meant to mock you?”

”Then you greatly underestimate my magnanimity.”

”Likewise, you really have no idea what makes a true warrior. A true warrior never feels that, after giving their all and losing to their opponent, their comrades would mock them behind their backs.”

”As long as you’re not deserters, as long as you give everything you have, then what is there to feel humiliated about in losing?”

”Moreover, if you truly lost on the battlefield, that would equate to sacrifice. Who would mock a comrade for their sacrifice?”

At this point, he shook his head with great disappointment. At such a moment, Xiao Long and his Qilin Special Combat Force still did not understand what true warriors were.

”Xiao Long, you all have disappointed me greatly.” Having left this remark behind, Lin Dong turned his head and walked away.

After he left, the members of the Qilin Special Combat Force looked at each other in dismay.

Someone said:

”Why do I feel like War God Lin didn’t mean to mock us at all? There’s actually some truth to what he said.”

”We really did give it our all; it’s just that the Black Elephant Special Forces Team was indeed stronger than us. Who could have expected that they would actually have 29 martial arts masters? And each of them had taken a ’Qi-Boosting Pill.’”

”If this competition had been a battlefield, then our Qilin Special Forces, even if not completely annihilated, would have at least suffered half in casualties.”

”Under such circumstances, how could our comrades mock us?”

Hearing this, Xiao Long looked at the person who spoke and sneered,

”He talks a good talk. If he really had that broad-minded nature, would he have forced our Qilin War God to resign?”

”He got his position as War God by pulling strings, didn’t he?”

Yan Qing wasn’t here at the moment, but if Yan Qing heard these words, even he would probably feel so ashamed that he couldn’t bear it.

And he’d probably slap Xiao Long right across the face!

What does it mean to suggest that Lin Dong’s status as a War God was achieved through connections?

What does it mean to say that Lin Dong pressured the Qilin War God into resigning?

Lin Dong came to the War Department as the War God because the War Department invited him. To put it bluntly, they pleaded with him to come!

As for the Qilin War God’s resignation, he resigned due to his own mistakes. His brother committed treason; how could he, as the older brother, have the face to continue in the position of War God?

Furthermore, in Lin Dong’s eyes, the War Gods they considered unattainable weren’t much at all.

Lin Dong would never stoop to the dirty tricks they imagined to obtain the position of War God.

He scorned such actions!

But how could the members of the Qilin Special Forces understand this? They all unanimously believed that Lin Dong’s position as War God was obtained through backdoor means.

And they also believed that their Qilin War God resigning was all because of Lin Dong.

”Although we lost the first competition, where did the Piranha get off to?”

”We might not be a match for the Black Elephant Special Forces, and most likely not for the Snow Wolf Special Forces either, but against the other two special forces from Dragon Country’s Battle Area, we have no problem. No matter how bad we perform, we will at least rank third in our group.”

”And what about the Piranha Special Operations Team led by War God Lin Zhan? Heh, who could they possibly defeat?”

”Tomorrow, our Qilin Special Forces don’t have a match scheduled, so let’s all go see how War God Lin Zhan’s Piranha team gets brutally beaten by the White Elephant Special Forces.”

”After they get beat down, let’s see if he can still utter the cool words he did just now!”
