Urban Divine Doctor Descends the Mountain

Chapter 446: Chapter 446: Gu Fetus

A group of people soon arrived in the sickroom.

At the moment, a pregnant woman lay on the hospital bed, unconscious.

Her body was connected to many pieces of medical equipment.

The instruments displayed numerous data points, indicating that her condition was not optimistic.

There were many department heads present, some with decades of experience. Yet, as they looked at the troublesome data on the medical equipment, they all shook their heads.

”This patient is difficult to treat. It was optimistic to even consider surgery, given the three floors’ opinion.”

”Let me do it; I’m confident we won’t even need to go beyond one floor!”

”Can Doctor Lin Dong handle it?”

”...”

Many people had not personally seen Lin Dong in action, so they remained skeptical of his medical arts.

Vice President Huang Wende pointed at Lin Dong, saying, ”Lin Dong, if you can’t cure her, you will have to bear full responsibility for this matter!”

Lin Dong glared at him, ”Vice President Huang, please shut up!”

”You...” Huang Wende pointed at Lin Dong, fuming with anger.

”’You’ what? As the vice president of a hospital, you don’t prioritize the patients’ lives. When something goes wrong, all you think about is shirking responsibility. Are you even worthy of the title ’doctor’?”

”Do you even know what the word ’doctor’ means?”

”Born to practice medicine, to be a doctor!”

Huang Wende was left speechless by Lin Dong’s words.

He wanted to counter, but he didn’t know what to say.

”If I can’t cure her, I am willing to take the responsibility!” Lin Dong left these final words for Huang Wende and paid no further attention to him.

Instead, he turned to treat the patient.

At this moment, he activated his X-Ray ability and looked towards her stomach.

With this look, even Lin Dong was somewhat surprised.

”This... this child, is actually...”

Lin Dong didn’t finish his sentence, and the people nearby, seeing his surprised expression, quickly asked.

”What is it?”

”It’s a Gu Fetus!” Lin Dong slowly uttered this unfamiliar term.

Everyone looked at each other in confusion, not understanding.

Qiao Bing quickly asked, ”Lin Dong, what is a Gu Fetus? I’ve never heard of it before.”

The chief of obstetrics and gynecology also expressed curiosity, ”I’ve heard of stillbirths and deformed fetuses, but never a Gu Fetus. What is that?”

Lin Dong explained to everyone:

”A Gu Fetus is one that has been infested by a Gu. From the moment the Gu was implanted, the fetus becomes half-dead.”

”It becomes a vessel for raising Gu worms...”

Hearing Lin Dong’s explanation, everyone gasped.

Of course, the vast majority didn’t believe it.

”Raise Gu? What kind of thing is that? It’s too mystical, it belongs to the realm of feudal superstition!”

”Exactly, can this doctor even cure the disease? If not, is that why he’s coming up with all these things?”

Vice President Huang scoffed, ”Lin Dong, you really have a way with words. Why not say that she’s carrying a demon in her stomach?”

Lin Dong ignored Huang Wende and instead turned to look at the pregnant woman’s husband.

”I will first awaken your wife, then induce labor to deliver the Gu Fetus prematurely!”

”Your wife’s life can be saved, but the fetus has long been dead and can no longer survive.”

The man eagerly said, ”As long as my wife can survive, anything is fine! If you can really save my wife, please do so quickly.”

Lin Dong nodded.

At that moment, he took out the silver needles and used the Taiyi Yin-Yang Divine Needle to awaken the pregnant woman.

”Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh~~~”

After the silver needles pierced the acupoints on the pregnant woman’s body, the indicators on the medical equipment began to change at a visible rate.

The previously abnormal data all shifted back to the normal range.

”Cough cough~~”

And at that moment, the pregnant woman suddenly coughed a few times and woke up from her unconscious state.

Upon waking up, her husband couldn’t help but exclaim.

”Fantastic, my wife has woken up, my wife is awake!”

The others, seeing this scene, also had their expressions drastically change.

”This Doctor Lin Dong really has some skills!”

”Could what he said be true?”

”Is the fetus in this pregnant woman’s stomach really a Gu Fetus?”

”...”

Seeing this, Vice President Huang’s face also fluctuated between anger and uncertainty.

However, he still spoke coldly, ”Hmph, it doesn’t count as a complete cure yet, the fetus in the stomach hasn’t been dealt with.”

”Moreover, that pregnant woman looks like she’s still in a lot of pain!”

The pregnant woman was indeed in extreme pain at the moment.

It was even more intense than when she first arrived at the hospital.

She was covered in cold sweat, calling out, ”Dear, I... I’m in so much pain, my stomach hurts so much!”

The pain was almost unbearable for her.

Seeing this, her husband hurriedly asked, ”Doctor Lin Dong, what’s going on?”

Lin Dong explained, ”This is a normal reaction. The Gu Fetus in her stomach has sensed my acupuncture and has become agitated.”

”When the Gu Fetus stirs, it naturally causes her pain.”

”But she won’t be in pain for much longer, because next I will remove that Gu Fetus from inside her body!”

Having said this, Lin Dong quickly struck with ’swoosh, swoosh’ and plunged nine silver needles simultaneously.

This time, he used the ’Needle of Rebirth’ from the Taiyi Yin-Yang Divine Needle technique.

It is a method specifically designed to treat pregnant women and can also induce labor.

”Ah!!”

And just as Lin Dong’s silver needles were inserted, the pregnant woman let out a loud cry, followed by her swollen belly deflating like a balloon.

At the same moment, a horrifying baby was born.

Everyone watching the baby gasped in shock.
