Urban Divine Doctor Descends the Mountain

Chapter 445: Chapter 445: Doctor-Patient Incident

Lin Dong and Qiao Bing are both head doctors at the hospital, and now that a medical dispute had occurred here, they naturally couldn’t stand idly by.

Soon, the two of them arrived at the scene.

They saw a middle-aged man in his thirties, holding a knife against the neck of a doctor wearing a white gown.

Lin Dong knew that doctor because he was Dr. Wang Changjun, the head of the emergency department.

At the moment, many people had gathered around.

There were doctors from the hospital, patients watching the excitement, and the hospital’s security guards.

Vice President Huang Wende was also there, holding the highest position in this area, and he pointed at the middle-aged man and said,

”Patient’s family member, please don’t be agitated. What you’re doing is against the law. Do you want to go to prison?”

However, these words only further enraged the man.

He bellowed, ”My damn wife and children are about to die, and I should care about that?”

After inquiring with the people nearby, Lin Dong learned the whole story.

It turned out that the family member of the patient holding the knife, had a pregnant wife.

Today, his wife, who was more than eight months pregnant, suddenly experienced severe stomach pain, so she was brought to the hospital.

After examination, the emergency department’s doctors, seeing how much pain his wife was in, gave her a shot of a painkiller.

However, after the injection, his wife directly fainted.

Moreover, an ultrasound revealed that the child in her stomach had no heartbeat.

The doctors then suggested that he immediately have surgery on his pregnant wife to remove the dead child, which might still be able to save his wife’s life.

Upon learning this, he was greatly shocked.

Finding out that the success rate of the surgery was only about 30 percent, and that his wife might also die, he refused to sign the surgical consent form.

Seeing this, the doctors said a few more provocative words.

Saying that if he was unwilling to sign the surgical consent form, then he should take the patient away and care or not care as he liked.

This infuriated the man even more.

After leaving the hospital, he went straight to buy a kitchen knife, leading to the current situation.

At this moment, he pressed the kitchen knife against Director Wang Changjun’s neck, shouting,

”My wife and child were fine, it was just because of your injection that things turned out like this.”

”And you want me to sign a surgical consent form? Do you mean that after I sign it, if my wife dies under your treatment, you won’t have to take responsibility?”

As he spoke, the knife against his neck made a cut, and blood seeped out instantly.

Seeing this, Wang Changjun trembled with fear.

He was about to cry.

He quickly said, ”Patient’s family member, please calm down. This is the procedure, we can’t help it.”

”Please don’t do anything foolish, with that knife of yours, you could directly ruin two families.”

”I’m already ruined by you, what more do I care?” The patient’s family member seemed to be on the verge of collapsing.

In his impulsivity, he really could do anything.

The hospital leaders were all anxiously pacing around, for if he actually killed Wang Changjun, that would be a huge blow to the hospital.

It was not just about the loss of a head doctor, but the impact on reputation was even greater.

Think about it, after this incident, would patients trust the doctors at Jianghai Renmin Hospital?

Would they still dare to come to their hospital for treatment?

And if patients all started following this example in the future, what would happen?

Therefore, this matter had to be handled carefully.

But for a while, everyone was at a loss for how to deal with it.

Then Huang Wende suddenly said, ”Patient’s family member, please calm down first. We are deeply sorry for what happened to your wife and child. How about this, our hospital will compensate you with money...”

”Go away! I don’t want your money. I just want my wife to survive!” It was evident that this man loved his wife dearly.

”Your wife’s situation is very serious right now, even if we have our best doctor to perform the surgery, there is still only about a 30 percent chance of success. We can’t guarantee that we’ll be able to save her...”

However, he hadn’t finished speaking when suddenly, a voice rang out,

”I can save your wife, with a hundred percent certainty!”

At this voice, everyone’s gaze turned toward the direction it came from.

Upon seeing, they realized it was a very young doctor.

The man, obviously not recognizing Lin Dong, asked, ”Who are you? You’re so young, you say you can cure my wife with a hundred percent certainty, do you think I would believe you?”

Huang Wende, who had a grudge against Lin Dong because of his daughter, frowned and said,

”Lin Dong, if you can’t deliver on what you’re promising, you will have to take responsibility!”

Lin Dong glanced at Huang Wende dismissively and ignored him.

Instead, he continued to address the frenzied man, saying gravely,

”Who am I? I am Lin Dong, the leader of the Southern Faction of Traditional Chinese Medicine. You can search my name online right now, and you’ll know who I am!”

As soon as he said this, many of the patients who followed Chinese medicine started to speak up,

”The leader of the Southern Faction of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Lin Dong, I know him! He beat Wang Taisui not long ago, and now he’s the number one in Traditional Chinese Medicine!”

”His medical arts are really good!”

”...”

Listening to the discussions of those around him, the man was surprised; he hadn’t expected Lin Dong to look so young yet have such a resounding reputation.

He took out his phone with his other hand and really did search for him.

He found that the internet was full of praise for Lin Dong’s medical skills.

And everyone was right, the Chinese medicine world did indeed recognize Lin Dong as the number one in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

”You can really cure my wife with absolute certainty?” The man seemed to calm down a bit, and asked.

Lin Dong nodded firmly, ”Not only can I cure your wife, but I will also investigate everything.”

”If it indeed turns out to be the responsibility of our hospital’s doctor, I will make him pay the price.”

”Of course, that premised on you not acting rashly.”

”Okay, I believe you. Hurry and treat my wife.” Finally, the man put down the knife, willing to trust Lin Dong.
