Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

After all, they should be friends who have spent many years with you, right? If you have a chat with them…”

Just ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍as Yue was about to offer some persuasion, Shi Ruizhi’s bedroom door was lightly knocked upon.

At ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍this moment, aside from Shi Ruizhi and Yue, there was only one other roommate in the dorm.

Although ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍nominally there were two other people in this dorm, one basically never returned during the day, or simply stayed out all night.

“Coming.”

Shi ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍Ruizhi rose and opened the door.

Standing outside was precisely the roommate Shi Ruizhi had seen the moment she first entered the dorm.

After introductions, she called herself Fang Zhi, Shi Ruizhi’s best friend.

However… Shi Ruizhi didn’t have a deep impression of this.

It seemed this ”bestie” relationship… actually had quite a bit of fluff in it.

“My dear Ruizhi, you finally opened the door. You’ve been shut in your bedroom for so long, it’s about time you came out for some fresh air, isn’t it?”

“Sorry… I still find it a bit hard to recall my past relationship with you. If possible… I’d still prefer if we started over. I might not be able to handle overly enthusiastic actions.”

“Ah? You still haven’t remembered?”

Fang Zhi acted as if she had been dealt a blow.

“Don’t! My good sister! In this dorm, you and I are the closest! They’ve all left one by one, and only you were still willing to stay with me. Now you’ve even lost your memory… wow… my life is so bitter!”

“This Senior what Senior Shi Ruizhi needs now is gentle guidance. Forcing things like this will instead decrease Senior Shi Ruizhi’s favorable impression of you, you know.”

“Eh? For real? Don’t people in TV dramas always recover after receiving a stimulus when they have amnesia? As her best friend, of course I have an unshakable duty!”

“Senior, even a junior like me knows the plots in TV dramas are just for the sake of the story. In reality, that’s absolutely impossible!”

Yue spoke helplessly.

“I think Yue makes a lot of sense.”

Shi Ruizhi also took the opportunity of the topic to push Fang Zhi away from her.

She still felt the other party was a bit too enthusiastic.

She couldn’t quite handle it.

“You! You, you! You actually really pushed me away!”

Fang Zhi looked at Shi Ruizhi with a face of disbelief, then wanted to cry out in grief.

“No, it’s just that right now I can’t quite handle this kind of enthusiasm. Can you give me some time to adjust?”

“Of course you can! Then shall we go out and watch a drama? Or… a movie? I know exactly what you like to watch! If we get into the mood while watching, we can even have an ’exchange’ on the sofa…”

“Shut up!”

Shi Ruizhi instinctively reached out and pinched Fang Zhi’s lips shut, fearing she would say something terrifying next.

After all, there was still a lower-grade junior on the side!

“Mmph… pah! As expected! It’s still that familiar feeling!”

Fang Zhi shook her head but spoke very excitedly.

“Let’s go, let’s go, we’re going out. What’s the fun in staying in the bedroom? If you don’t want to watch TV, then I’ll accompany you to go shopping!”

Under Fang Zhi’s repeated pestering, Shi Ruizhi had no choice but to leave her bedroom first.

However… She did not choose to go shopping.

After all, she had just checked her balance and found she didn’t have much money left.

She didn’t know what her source of income was.

Perhaps she had a part-time job, but clearly, after being ”absent” for so long, she likely couldn’t continue it.

But at the thought that she still had compensation to receive, her mood improved a lot.

Let those part-time jobs go where they may!

Aside from this good news… she cared more about the messages on her phone.

During this period, her phone had received text messages from many people.

Some were concerned about her, and some were looking to confirm the situation with her.

Although she had notes for the contacts, some notes were things even she couldn’t understand.

There were also many group chats like that.

For example… the dorm group chat.

Just from what she could distinguish, there were at least three groups.

It truly made her a bit dazed.

If she remembered correctly, there were at most six people in this dorm, right?

How was this achieved?

Now that she had amnesia and her head was empty, looking back at her life from this third-party perspective, she suddenly found that such a life was truly a mess…

Had she previously been constantly consuming her life in these matters?

Shi Ruizhi looked at the massive TV screen in the living room.

The content playing on it… to be honest, she felt she didn’t really like watching it.

But according to Fang Zhi’s description, she seemingly used to love watching it.

For a moment, she didn’t know if Fang Zhi didn’t understand her well enough, or if her own aesthetic had changed.

Amidst this idling of time, the villa’s front door was opened.

Shi Ruizhi turned her head curiously toward the entryway around the corner, and subsequently, a figure appeared in her sight.

Shi Ruizhi looked at this figure; it was very foreign.

In fact, this tall woman with a strong sense of maturity didn’t even leave as deep an impression on her as Fang Zhi did.

At least she didn’t give Shi Ruizhi the kind of feeling where she couldn’t remember but had some impression.

“Shi Ruizhi, you’re back at the dorm and didn’t even tell me? I sent you messages and you didn’t even reply?”

“You are…”

“Ha?”

The figure before her frowned as she looked at Shi Ruizhi, letting out a somewhat impatient sound.

“Playing the amnesia card with me? Still asking who I am?”

“Ji An! Shi Ruizhi truly does have amnesia. Can you stop throwing that foul temper of yours the moment you get back!”

“Amnesia? You’re playing this boring trick with her too?”

The student called Ji An spoke quite indifferently, her tone somewhat aggressive.

“I am talking to you properly! Ruizhi was hospitalized for so many days and only just got back. Is this necessary!”

“Isn’t this fine? She doesn’t look like a patient who lay in the infirmary for so long.”

Ji An glanced at Shi Ruizhi, still unable to put down her airs.

“This Senior, Senior Shi Ruizhi truly does have amnesia…”

“And who are you? Why are you in our dorm!”

Ji An directly interrupted Yue’s interjection, as if she gave no face to anyone here.

However, when she saw Yue’s head of white hair, she still frowned with some disgust.

“I am responsible for taking care of Senior Shi Ruizhi. Senior has only just been discharged and has amnesia. I am a volunteer here to take care of Senior Shi Ruizhi and help look after her daily life.”

“Then you can leave. Shi Ruizhi doesn’t need you to take care of her. She’s a grown person; even with amnesia, can’t she live on her own?”

“Sorry, I probably can’t do that. I’ve already moved in for now specifically to take care of Senior Shi Ruizhi. I heard Senior Ji An usually doesn’t return to the dorm much, so I assume you shouldn’t mind.”

“I mind a lot! Get lost immediately! This isn’t a place where just anyone is qualified to live!”

“I have a room card, you know.”

Yue was clearly not afraid of the girl before her.

The reason she chose to be tough was naturally because she could see there was a problem with the girl before her.

Whether it was simple poor manners and a bad temper, or some hidden reason, regardless, the girl’s attitude toward Shi Ruizhi was not good.

And… more importantly, through the Seed of Great Knowledge, Yue learned that Ji An used to be Dainiel’s student!

It was just that in her final two years at the academy, she no longer needed a mentor to lead her.

But as for whether there was still a connection between the two… that was unclear.

“Ji An! Why are you losing your temper at a little junior! She didn’t provoke you!”

Fang Zhi spoke a word of ”justice” from the side.

“Fine then. You wait. When the time comes, I’ll let you see the methods of a high-year senior. Sooner or later, you’ll regret this.”

After leaving this harsh word, Ji An stopped staying in this dorm and left directly.

In total, she hadn’t even stayed in the dorm for five minutes.

“Wait! Sigh…”

Fang Zhi originally wanted to stop her, but Ji An slammed the door and left.

The commotion of the door closing was very massive, causing the entire villa to vibrate slightly.

It had to be said that the quality of the dorm villa’s front door was truly good.

“Junior Yue… I’ll just call you Little Yue… you shouldn’t have done that… Ji An is actually just like that.”

“Sorry for causing trouble for the Seniors…”

Yue also hurriedly apologized.

But apologies aside, she had driven the person away anyway.

There was truly no need to expend much effort to please someone who couldn’t communicate properly.

Doing so might even end up positioning oneself as a servant.

“That’s not it but Little Yue you should still avoid her for a bit later, okay? Although Ji An is okay as a person, she’s actually a bit… like that.”

“I understand. But there’s no need for Senior to look down on me either, my strength is nothing to be scoffed at!”

“Sigh… fine. Then usually you follow Ruizhi. Although she has amnesia now, her strength is very great!”

“Is that so?”

The one who said this was Shi Ruizhi herself.

Even she didn’t know that in the mouths of others, she could be evaluated as ”very strong.”

She didn’t feel anything herself.

“It’s fine Even if my strength isn’t high, my connections are through the roof. I can call Big Sis Xiao Han over at any moment, you know.”

Yue spoke quite nonchalantly.

“Ah? Big Sis Xiao Han? That legend? Little Yue, don’t talk big. Although I can guess you’re from the Little Han Support Group, I reckon in that Support Group, probably no one except that Millian has the qualification to call over that legendary Teaching Assistant.”

“Alright, it seems Senior Fang Zhi knows quite a lot.”

“Not at all haha, it’s just hearsay!”

Laboratory.

After sending off the Academy Head, I also focused my energy on the experiment.

As for Yue, placed by Shi Ruizhi’s side, I only paid attention occasionally and then stopped managing it.

After all, Shi Ruizhi was the first and only person I had sublimated into a soul using Soul Depiction.

I was naturally very concerned about her changes.

As for those things like helping her familiarize herself with daily life and looking for others who contacted her, those were just incidental.

However, what I hadn’t expected was that my experiment with the Primal Dream State over here, even across the barrier of the experimental area, could be felt by Shi Ruizhi over there.

It looked like the gap between a Soul and soul-substance was quite large; at least in terms of sensitivity toward the Primal Dream State, they weren’t on the same level.

I wondered if she could give me some other surprises.

After all, as one of the only two non-Transcendent soul essence lives in the current Main World, I was also thinking if she would become similar to me?

Of course, the ”similarity” I spoke of referred to talent.

From the current perspective, the changes in Shi Ruizhi before and after waking up in a soul posture were massive, to the point that the way she interacted with her roommates had changed.

This point could be contrasted through her roommate and the historical records of the earth vein information.

Actually, I also wanted to cultivate Shi Ruizhi into a Transcendent, because her life tier, after nine years of accumulation, was almost enough to touch True Time.

This wasn’t an exaggeration.

After all, out of the hundred-plus people Millian chose, who wasn’t a genius?

The Witch Academy never lacked geniuses, only geniuses who yearned for advancement to Transcendent.

Since Shi Ruizhi could be valued by Millian, it could at least be confirmed through the analysis of the Great Tree of Knowledge that she had no issues.

The current problem appeared in… the credibility of the earth vein information.

Wanting to modify earth vein information was actually very simple, and didn’t even require much technical skill; just brute force would do.

After all, the earth vein only had regional characteristics, but the energy level wasn’t high.

From the information shared by the Academy Head, she had already confirmed traces of tampering with the earth vein information, although exactly how she confirmed it wasn’t mentioned.

So this had already clearly proven that this was a man-made accident.

“Big Sis Xiao Han regarding the numbered Nightmares, we have already sorted them in our way.”

Fool’s Blue walked over at this time and said to me.

“Wonderful I just spaced out for a bit and it’s done? The efficiency is far too high, isn’t it?”

I cast aside all my thoughts regarding Shi Ruizhi and the Self-generating Magic Power experimental accident, subsequently coming to the side of the experimental platform.

The ”numbered Nightmares” in Fool’s Blue’s mouth referred to the experiments. I conducted to ”purify” Nightmares through different methods to extract the envisioned Dream-state Soul-substance.

Through staged progress, I relied on the Fool’s Dreams’ instinctive disgust to screen the effects of the methods.

Actually, this was just a small experiment coordinated with the Fool’s Dreams.

After all, before there was a definite result, I naturally needed to choose the optimal solution.

Only with success would I be qualified to waste more time screening for efficiency.

“Oh? The four of you actually all ranked Nightmare No. 3 as the top choice.”

I picked up the “specimen” of Nightmare No. 3. Because of the special nature of Nightmares, this specimen was not an ordinary one.

Rather, it was trapped within a special information cage within the Primal Dream State, meaning it needed to stay in the Primal Dream State throughout the process.

Although it didn’t have to be this way, staying at this depth of the Primal Dream State allowed one to more intuitively sense other things that weren’t easily detected.

Since this Nightmare was ranked first by the Fool’s Dreams, it meant that the Nightmare purification method represented by this number was the best.

At least the best at this stage.

And the method represented by this number was called the “Gestation Purification Method” by me, rather than the “Information Deposition Method” I had initially favored.

“Um… a choice dilemma has appeared…”

I muttered to myself with some difficulty.

After all, I currently had at least a dozen methods chosen.

Conducting all of them simultaneously would seriously drag down my progress.

Although many methods were the type that seemed ridiculous at first glance, I had to say, the Gestation Purification Method was originally among that rank of methods.

But now, this method had surpassed the most step-by-step line of thought in one fell swoop.

“Forget it… I’ll do both together, treating them as a control group… the others can only be temporarily abandoned. I’ll wait to see which of these two methods succeeds, or if both fail, and then look back to see which one would be a miracle in efficiency.”

In the end, I had no choice but to make such a decision.
