Apocalyptic Flood: Sexy Beauty Neighbor's Midnight Plea for Food

Chapter 996: Chapter 389: Recruiting Shen Yunxi

”I’ll go inside and take a look.”

”Please, go ahead.”

The two guards hurriedly stepped aside, with one of them proactively helping to open the door.

Liang Yuan stood at the entrance, looking inside the room.

He saw the woman named Shen Yunxi lying on the bed, with Lin Ya sitting beside her, a look of anxiety on her face.

When the room door suddenly opened, she instinctively showed a nervous expression and quickly stood up.

”Mr. Liang!”

Seeing it was Liang Yuan, she hurriedly walked over, excitedly saying, ”Mr. Liang, I’ve already agreed to join you, can you let Yue Hua and them go?”

Liang Yuan glanced at Lin Ya, his expression calm as he said, ”Don’t worry, I said I would let her go, and I won’t go back on my word.”

”But not now, I still have a lot to do here. Letting her go, if she causes trouble for me, what should I do when we meet again—should I kill her or not?”

Lin Ya was instantly speechless; she was a smart person and knew Leng Yuehua’s character well.

If Liang Yuan really let Leng Yuehua go, it’s highly likely that Leng Yuehua would try to retaliate with all her might.

But if they meet again next time, could Mr. Liang spare her once more?

Lin Ya sighed, then asked, ”Then after you finish your business, when I leave here with you, can you let them go?”

Liang Yuan glanced at her and noncommittally said, ”I hope that you can also be loyal to me like this in the future.”

Lin Ya’s face reddened, she didn’t respond.

Liang Yuan didn’t expect her to express loyalty to him right now.

Even if she did express loyalty to him now, he wouldn’t believe it.

Who knows what resentment she might harbor against him in her heart.

Nonetheless, Liang Yuan guessed wrongly this time. Though Lin Ya held some resentment against Liang Yuan, it couldn’t be described as hate.

She was sensible and knew that this conflict was completely instigated by Leng Yuehua, and Liang Yuan was not truly to blame.

Initially, she and Liang Yuan had already resolved their misunderstandings.

It was only after Leng Yuehua returned and heard they’d been bullied that she insisted on creating a conflict to teach them a lesson, leading to this major havoc.

Of course, Leng Yuehua stood up for her, so she couldn’t say Leng Yuehua was wrong.

However, Leng Yuehua standing up for her was not entirely out of concern, but more so because she saw Lin Ya as her possession.

This twisted sentiment was what made Leng Yuehua lose her rationality and insisted on retaliating against Liang Yuan and his group.

Lin Ya understood this reasoning, so she didn’t quite endorse Leng Yuehua standing up for her in her heart.

But after everything happened, saying these things now was useless.

She sold herself to Liang Yuan, and from now on she would follow him and join his ranks, as a way to repay Leng Yuehua for looking after her these days.

Liang Yuan didn’t make things difficult for her but instead looked toward the unconscious Shen Yunxi on the bed.

Having endured his Spiritual Flame attack, Shen Yunxi didn’t die on the spot, which was a testament to her strong Spiritual Power.

”How is she doing?”

Lin Ya heard this, her heart skipped a beat, she glanced at Liang Yuan warily, and said in a low voice, ”She’s still unconscious.”

Liang Yuan asked, ”She was hit by my Spiritual Attack, the fact that she didn’t die is already fortunate.”

Lin Ya pursed her lips and said nothing.

”What is this woman’s name?”

”Shen Yunxi.”

”Is she also a resident in our community?”

”She’s not.” Lin Ya shook her head.

Liang Yuan waited for her to introduce Shen Yunxi, but Lin Ya seemed to have some guarded thoughts about Liang Yuan and didn’t continue.

This made Liang Yuan a bit displeased and he asked, ”Is she living in the Queen’s captain’s quarters?”

Lin Ya nodded.

Liang Yuan’s eyes flickered slightly, and then asked, ”What is her status? I see there’s a lot of professional stuff in the captain’s quarters, does she know how to navigate the ship?”

”Yes, Yunxi is a professor at Linjiang University’s School of Shipbuilding, with many published papers in shipbuilding and sailing.”

Lin Ya seemed to realize something and quickly emphasized Shen Yunxi’s identity and expertise.

She could tell that Liang Yuan seemed to highly value technical personnel.

Sure enough, when he heard Shen Yunxi was actually a professor from the School of Shipbuilding, Liang Yuan’s eyes lit up.

He immediately asked, ”How did she end up here?”

Lin Ya explained, ”Before, when we went to Linjiang University to seize ships, Yunxi hadn’t awakened as a Superpower User yet, she was captured to operate the ship.”

”Later, when we arrived, Yue Hua seized the ship and recruited many crew members; finding out Yunxi had professional abilities, she promoted her as acting captain, responsible for technical and sailing matters on the Queen.”

Liang Yuan thought to himself, indeed, this woman’s experience is quite similar to Professor Li’s.

However, Professor Li was unlucky, not encountering any organizations with ships; Qiu Yingyue fiercely guarded the building and didn’t manage to secure a vessel, so they weren’t particularly sensitive to collecting talent in this field.

As a result, Professor Li almost starved to death in Qiu Yingyue’s building.

Liang Yuan’s heart was brimming with excitement; this woman would be very useful. Bringing her back might allow for the cultivation of a group of sailing talent.

He pondered for a while, then looked at Lin Ya, and asked, ”I have the means to heal her spiritual injuries.”

Lin Ya immediately raised her head, her beautiful eyes fixated on Liang Yuan, just about to plead with him.

Suddenly she pursed her lips, recalling Liang Yuan’s style, promptly changing her tone to ask, ”What... do you want?”

Liang Yuan glanced at Lin Ya, secretly admiring her cleverness.

With a calm demeanor, he said, ”I value her expertise in sailing; to save her is possible, but once healed, she must serve me, as you do.”

Lin Ya’s expression flickered slightly, hesitated briefly, and said, ”I cannot decide for her.”

Liang Yuan nodded and said, ”Fine, the ship won’t support freeloaders. I will have her sent to Mist City’s Mist Forest to fend for herself.”

”Don’t!”

Lin Ya suddenly panicked and hastily exclaimed.

Liang Yuan said nothing, calmly looking at her, ”What do you say?”

Lin Ya understood she wouldn’t be able to fool this man.

A sense of helplessness surged in her heart, and she sighed, ”I can help you persuade her to stay.”

Liang Yuan immediately laughed and said, ”That’s good. You should know that both you and she have good looks and figures; the chances of being targeted and schemed against if you leave this ship are high.”

”Following me, at least you don’t have to worry about such things happening. What I want is your personal ability, not your bodies.”

”With me, you don’t have to worry about me forcing you to do those unbearable things.”

”But outside, it’s not certain.”

Lin Ya understood this reasoning as well; now, apart from accepting it with a bitter smile, what other options did she have?

”I understand,” she said, lowering her head.

Liang Yuan took out a green bamboo tube from his inventory and said, ”This is a Spirit Recovery Potion. After taking it, there will be improvement within an hour. Once she wakes up, have a good talk with her. Once you’ve decided, come to the captain’s cabin to find me.”

Lin Ya took the potion, relieved. The urgent task was to save Yunxi first.

As for the rest, she could only say she would do her best.

Compared to Leng Yuehua, she felt Yunxi might be easier to persuade.

Seeing off Liang Yuan, Lin Ya quickly opened the bamboo tube, which contained a herbal scent with a touch of bamboo fragrance.

She was surprised, found a water cup in the room, and poured it out.

The liquid was emerald green, similar in color to bamboo.

There were no impurities, probably a filtered and purified potion.

It smelled like Chinese herbal medicine.

”Herbal potion?”

She was secretly astonished, but she thought if Liang Yuan wanted to harm them, he wouldn’t need to go through so much trouble.

She steadied her mind and then helped Shen Yunxi take the potion.

Fortunately, although Shen Yunxi was unconscious, she wasn’t completely senseless.

As the potion entered her mouth, she instinctively swallowed it.

Soon, she had fed the entire potion into her, and Lin Ya stayed by Shen Yunxi’s side, worried about any accidents.

But Lin Ya quickly realized her worries were unfounded.

Yang Shenmin’s researched Spirit Recovery Potion worked well; in less than ten minutes, Shen Yunxi made a comfortable sound and then opened her eyes.

Her eyes were beautiful, with a hint of fox-eye charm, and combined with her dyed golden wavy curls, it gave her a bit of a femme fatale look.

Just waking up, she instinctively frowned, feeling her head still buzzing uncomfortably.

But compared to the previous burning sensation in her brain, it was much better.

”Yunxi, how are you?” Lin Ya quickly asked.

Shen Yunxi was dumbfounded for a moment, her pre-coma memories rushing back. She came to her senses, looked at Lin Ya, and said, ”No, I’m fine, just a bit of a headache still, but much better than before.”

Lin Ya breathed a sigh of relief and smiled, ”It seems Mr. Liang really has talented people under him, able to develop such a potion.”

Shen Yunxi was surprised and quickly asked what happened.

Lin Ya didn’t hide anything and recounted the event as it happened.

At the end, with a somewhat apologetic expression, she said, ”I’m sorry, I made a decision for you on my own. He said he’d send you to the Mist Forest to fend for yourself, so I had no choice but to agree.”

Shen Yunxi wasn’t angry; instead, she suddenly laughed.

”Haha, I knew it, with someone as talented as me, no one with a bit of vision would give up.”

”Besides, I feel that Liang’s motives might not be simple.”

Lin Ya was taken aback and asked in astonishment, ”What do you mean?”

Shen Yunxi spoke meaningfully, ”Hehe, during the fight earlier, he looked at your chest quite a bit. My figure isn’t worse than yours; maybe he has some other ideas.”

Lin Ya was speechless, somewhat helpless with her friend’s shamelessness.

”At a time like this, you’re still joking about that.”

Shen Yunxi also chuckled and said, ”Actually, even without Liang’s situation, I can’t stand staying on the Queen anymore.”

”It’s all women here, not a single man. At least I’m a woman with a normal sexual orientation, unlike Leng Yuehua, who’s into women.”

”I have needs with nowhere to release them. To be honest, I was ready to run away, didn’t expect this to happen.”

Lin Ya was stunned; though she had already noticed Shen Yunxi’s dissatisfaction with Leng Yuehua, and the faint desire to leave.

But she didn’t expect Shen Yunxi to have such strong feelings toward the Queen.

”Yunxi, Yue Hua... though she has some peculiar habits, she hasn’t mistreated us...”

Shen Yunxi shook her head, ”Separate issues; she hasn’t mistreated us, but you and I both know what she’s thinking.”

”I can’t accept the whole women-loving-women thing, so it’s destined I can’t stay on this ship.”

”And the Queen seems to be carefree floating on the water, but it’s really a rootless plant, without solving productivity issues; everything relies on plundering.”

”This way, the Queen is bound to fail; I don’t want this to happen. Only by finding a self-sufficient shelter can we settle down peacefully.”

”This Liang seems to have some background, might be a good choice.”

Lin Ya was astonished; she didn’t expect there was no need to persuade, her friend had already planned to join Liang Yuan’s team.

For a moment, she was at a loss, and also in reflection.

It seemed the high-pressure management of Leng Yuehua towards the Queen wasn’t so popular after all.

She sighed inwardly, naturally aware of Leng Yuehua’s intense animosity towards men, which indeed had issues.

After all, not every woman on this ship hated men as much as she did.

”By the way, Mr. Liang said, once you’re awake, go to the captain’s cabin to talk to him.” Lin Ya snapped back, reminded.
