Apocalyptic Flood: Sexy Beauty Neighbor's Midnight Plea for Food

Chapter 990: Chapter 383: The Situation in Mist City

Liang Yuan didn’t continue to dwell on the intensity and power of Leng Yuehua’s laser beam, but instead began to inquire about Mist City.

”So, you’ve been trapped here for a month now?”

”More or less.” Lin Ya nodded slightly.

”And this ship can’t get out?”

Lin Ya sighed: ”We have to wait.”

”Wait?”

”Yes, we asked the people in Mist City. Mist City drifts unpredictably. When it encounters a reverse current, the water flow will change direction, and our Queen’s ship can be pushed out by the current.”

Qiu Yingyue couldn’t help but ask, ”After talking for so long, what exactly is the situation with this Mist City? How much do you know?”

Liang Yuan also looked at Lin Ya and asked, ”What about Leng Yuehua?”

Lin Ya looked at Liang Yuan, then at Qiu Yingyue, and said, ”Yue Hua took some people into Mist City. Did you come searching for Mist City specifically, rather than getting lost and ending up here?”

Qiu Yingyue said, ”That’s not your concern. I’m asking you, what kind of existence is Mist City? Is there really a city inside?”

”Mist City... is a very strange place.”

Speaking of Mist City, Lin Ya’s face showed a hint of a peculiar expression.

”What’s so strange about it?” Qiu Yingyue promptly asked.

”It’s an icy island floating on water, covered with ice and snow year-round, shrouded in mist all year long.”

”There is indeed a city on the island, which people outside call Mist City, but the residents here call it the City of Ice Mist.”

”It has a leader, whom the islanders of the City of Ice Mist refer to as the King of the Mist City.”

”The King of the Mist City? Is he a Superpower User? What superpower does he have?” Liang Yuan quickly asked.

Lin Ya shook her head: ”None of us have seen this King of the Mist City. He’s very mysterious, and few have seen him.”

Liang Yuan couldn’t help but frown slightly and asked, ”If he doesn’t show up, how does he manage this island?”

Lin Ya said, ”It’s naturally managed by those under his command.”

”The City of Ice Mist has a powerful law enforcement team called the Ice Armor Warriors, all composed of Superpower Users, responsible for maintaining the entire City of Ice Mist’s order.”

Liang Yuan suddenly thought of a question: ”Where do the people on the City of Ice Mist come from?”

Logically, a floating island like this couldn’t have existed before the great flood, and it most likely appeared after the flood.

So when it first appeared, it must have been an uninhabited island.

Now it’s developed into the City of Ice Mist, Mist City, so it must have a considerable population.

Where did these people come from?

Upon hearing this, Lin Ya shook her head slightly: ”I don’t know either. By the time we were trapped here, the city had already existed.”

”However, Yue Hua took some people into Mist City and speculated that the people here most likely stumbled in by accident or were abducted.”

”But as the island’s capacity decreased, they no longer abduct outsiders. Instead, they started limiting outsiders from entering.”

”We also wanted to enter the City of Ice Mist, but since we didn’t have enough resources to meet the residency requirements, we’re still living on the ship for now.”

”To my knowledge, there are many ships near the rocks of Mist City.”

”Everyone wants to enter Mist City and become permanent residents.”

Liang Yuan immediately looked at Qiu Yingyue.

Qiu Yingyue also became excited instantly and said to Liang Yuan, ”I told you, my dad must be like them, trapped here.”

”But he discovered that the Floating Island can float on water and avoid the flood, so he’s finding ways to become a permanent resident. He needs resources, so he’s trying to find ways to get me to gather Superpower Stone resources outside.”

She then looked at Lin Ya and asked, ”To permanently reside in Mist City, do you need a lot of Superpower Stones?”

Upon hearing this, Lin Ya nodded slightly: ”Yes, Superpower Stones are one aspect. On the other hand, you must be a Superpower User to qualify for joining.”

”Ordinary people, even if they gather enough Superpower Stone resources, won’t be accepted into Mist City.”

”How large is this Mist City, exactly? Does it produce food or anything like that? Can it achieve self-sufficiency?” Liang Yuan asked.

Lin Ya shook her head: ”We’re not clear about the exact size, and access to the island is strict. Ice Armor Warriors guard the island’s perimeter.”

”But there seems to be plenty of food. At least, I haven’t seen them lacking food, although living supplies don’t seem abundant, like shoes and socks, and clothing products are more expensive than rice and meat.”

Liang Yuan’s heart moved slightly, and he immediately speculated that Mist City’s technological level should be about the same as Yangshan.

Without modern industry, everyone has regressed to the slash-and-burn era.

Modern clothes, shoes, socks, and similar items don’t have production capabilities here, and they can only rely on pre-apocalyptic supplies.

Moreover, based on Lin Ya’s descriptions, this Mist City seems to focus more on developing its military power.

In addition to recruiting a large number of Superpower Users, they also seek to collect Superpower Stones and other strategic materials.

Liang Yuan asked some questions related to the Ice Armor Warriors, but Lin Ya didn’t have any information on that front.

As outsiders, they evidently didn’t have the courage to challenge Mist City’s rules, so they naturally didn’t experience any conflict.

As such, their understanding of Mist City’s armed forces was limited, with no significant intelligence to reference.

Suddenly, Liang Yuan changed the topic and asked, ”Do you know about Genetic Species?”

Upon hearing this, Qiu Yingyue swiftly looked at Lin Ya.

Lin Ya’s expression changed slightly, and she immediately realized something.

She was suddenly enlightened and looked at Liang Yuan and Qiu Yingyue, saying, ”So, you are here for the awakening of Genetic Species?”

”Is there really a way to awaken Genetic Species here?” Liang Yuan raised an eyebrow and immediately pursued the question.

Lin Ya nodded: ”There is such a rumor. It’s said that among the Ice Armor Warriors, there are four powerful Superpower Users who have awakened their Genetic Species.”

”Not only that, but I’ve heard this King of the Mist City is also a top-level Superpower User who has awakened a Genetic Species. There are even rumors that he has surpassed the level of the Genetic Species.”

”Many of the people trapped here haven’t tried to leave for a reason related to this rumor.”

”However, the hope of finding a way to awaken a Genetic Species is very slim.”

Qiu Yingyue couldn’t help but ask, ”Why?”

”Because to obtain a method to awaken a Genetic Species, one must first become a resident of Mist City.”

”Only those who become people of Mist City have the qualifications to acquire the method to awaken a Genetic Species.”

”And among so many residents in Mist City, how many truly obtain the method for Genetic Species awakening?”

”On the surface, it’s only the four leaders among the Ice Armor Warriors.”

”That’s why I said the hope is slim.”

Lin Ya’s words made Qiu Yingyue furrow her eyebrows deeply.

She refused to accept it, saying, ”There’s always hope!”

Liang Yuan remained silent, but he had other speculations in mind.

There isn’t just one type of Genetic Species; the awakening method in the City of Ice Mist probably isn’t something everyone can comprehend.

Most likely, it requires the Superpower User to be compatible with the Genetic Species for it to be useful.

For example, in his own system, there are numerous Genetic Species, but the most suitable one matched for him is only the Hundred-Change Demon Ape Genetic Species.

Liang Yuan guessed that the City of Ice Mist’s method for awakening Genetic Species is probably related to Ice Attribute Superpower Users.

For those who aren’t Ice Attribute Superpower Users, it’s likely very difficult to awaken a Genetic Species here.

But it’s hard to say; until now, Liang Yuan didn’t know how Genetic Species experts outside obtained their Genetic Species.

His own Genetic Species was directly exchanged, but maybe the Genetic Species experts in Mist City gain theirs through comprehension and their bodies generate the Genetic Species themselves?

Because Lin Ya was very cooperative, answering every question, Liang Yuan and Qiu Yingyue eventually released all the crew members of the Queen.

With the misunderstandings resolved, Lin Ya couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.

She had been entrusted by Leng Yuehua to look after the Queen here.

If anything happened to the Queen, they would have essentially lost their home base.

The loss would be too great, even though she was being pursued by Leng Yuehua, she couldn’t bear such a responsibility.

Back on the Golden Armor Warship, Qiu Yingyue walked behind Liang Yuan.

She suddenly asked, ”What should we do next?”

Liang Yuan paused, looked back at her, and asked, ”What do you plan to do?”

”I want to go to Mist City and find my dad!”

”Do you know where he is?”

”He mentioned a place in a letter to me.”

”What place?”

”The Mist Forest!”

Liang Yuan furrowed his brow and asked, ”Do you have a map of Mist City? Do you know where this Mist Forest is?”

Qiu Yingyue shook her head, ”No, my father didn’t mention it in his letter, and I specifically asked Lin Ya before, but she hasn’t been to Mist City either, so her knowledge is limited.”

Liang Yuan thought for a moment and said, ”Perhaps we can wait a bit longer until that leader of the Queen, Leng Yuehua, returns and then inquire further.”

Qiu Yingyue pondered his words for a moment and said, ”We still don’t know when she will return.”

”Didn’t Lin Ya say that Leng Yuehua usually only goes out for three to five days?”

Liang Yuan said, ”We’ve already arrived here, waiting a day or two more isn’t a big deal; there’s no need to rush.”

Qiu Yingyue considered it and finally nodded, ”Alright, I’ll wait a few more days then.”

Liang Yuan smiled, then turned and went back to the captain’s room.

A moment later, Han Xiangman knocked on the door and came in.

”Mr. Liang, what’s the situation over there now?” Han Xiangman asked.

She hadn’t gone there earlier, so she wasn’t aware of the related information.

Liang Yuan recounted the information he obtained from Lin Ya and concluded, ”The master of Mist City is likely an expert who has condensed a Genetic Species and composed a Genetic Map.”

”There is likely a way to condense Genetic Species within Mist City.”

”However, gaining this method will not be easy, I’m afraid.”

Han Xiangman pondered for a while and asked, ”According to Lin Ya, only by becoming a resident of Mist City can one have the right to get the method to awaken a Genetic Species.”

”So do we have no choice but to rely on Qiu Yingyue’s father?”

Liang Yuan responded with a smile, shaking his head, ”Not necessarily, I also have a Superpower Stone, so I can meet the hard criteria for becoming a resident here.”

”The only thing we need to confirm now is whether it’s true that only residents have the qualification to obtain the awakening method for the Genetic Species.”

”How do we confirm this?” Han Xiangman asked with a frown.

Liang Yuan smiled, ”We just need to capture one of the higher-ups of Mist City and ask.”

Han Xiangman was taken aback, then smiled wryly, ”That’s... one way.”

”But I don’t plan to use that method.” Liang Yuan shook his head.

Han Xiangman was again surprised, ”Then do you have a better idea?”

”Of course, the simplest way is to force the Master of Fog City to come out and have a good talk with us!”
