Apocalyptic Flood: Sexy Beauty Neighbor's Midnight Plea for Food

Chapter 972: Chapter 365: Sea Tide Returns, Capturing Mutant Birds

The sea tide arrived as planned.

Under the torrential rain, no one in the Yangshan Shelter hid at home this time.

The awakened superpower users swarmed out in groups and started capturing the mutant beasts that had come ashore.

Human tides opposing sea tides.

These mutant fish and shrimp now became points in their eyes.

”Kill, brothers! One mutant fish is worth ten points, a hundred make 1,000 Points, and 1,000 Points can buy a mutated sunflower for your home!”

”With a mutated sunflower at home, it’s like having a tiny sun indoors. No more worries about dampness!”

”Kill them! Catch the fish!”

The superpower users of Yangshan shouted, charging towards the mutant fish.

The patrol team led by Li Qinghua was the most frantic. Li Qinghua directly created an air bubble without caring whether the mutant beasts were fish or shrimp, catching them and tossing them into the air bubbles.

His Spiritual Power could simultaneously create three air bubbles.

Then he directly used these air bubbles as temporary storage, frantically capturing mutant beasts.

Others were less efficient, able to capture only one at a time, and in the process, they couldn’t kill the mutant beasts; they had to be caught alive.

Because the rule of the Slaughterhouse was only to accept the living; the dead were worthless.

At this moment, Liang Yuan had already disappeared.

He wasn’t on the shore competing with others for these mutant fish and shrimp.

He was already deep underwater, his Spirit sweeping madly and rapidly harvesting wave after wave of mutant fish and shrimp.

With luck, he could even encounter a school of sardines.

A single Spirit Shock could kill all the mutant fish within a fifty-meter radius.

Liang Yuan was full of excitement, as system prompts that hadn’t activated for a long time kept coming to his mind.

A massive gain in points!

...

The sea tide lasted into the night.

Many team members, having no place to store them, directly carried a large number of mutant fish back to the shelter.

After settling the prey, they hurriedly returned.

The coming and going delayed quite a bit of time.

By dawn, those striving to capture prey suddenly felt that the rain seemed to have lessened.

Many instinctively looked up at the sky.

This glance left them stunned.

Underneath the clouds, a massive flock of giant birds was whistling towards them.

They pierce through the clouds, darkening the sky, even blocking out the torrential rain!

Tu Long’s eyes widened instantly, excitedly shouting, ”Bird-catching squad, get ready!”

Immediately, all the patrol team members quickly gathered in formation and took out their prepared nets and other hunting equipment.

The other ordinary team members had long received the message and were rushing towards the shelter.

”Non-combat personnel, go back at once!”

”Hurry back!”

”Ordinary personnel, immediately go back too!”

With shouts commanding them, ordinary personnel had already hurried back.

Those who came with family to transport prey also quickly turned back.

Soon, the flock of birds descended rapidly.

The massive birds were everywhere, sharp calls echoing throughout.

Tu Long looked up at these strange birds, spit, ”Damn it, these bastards have mutated. Can’t even tell what species they originally were.”

The mutant birds, even the smaller ones, were over a meter long with wingspans reaching over two meters.

The larger ones were even more exaggerated, with body lengths of more than ten meters and wingspans of twenty meters.

Of course, these were still manageable, considering that back on the rooftop of Meidu Garden.

The giant mutant bird that attacked the military transport plane was nearly a hundred meters in size!

Compared to that mutant bird, the current bird flock could be considered a tiny threat.

”Woo—!”

”Woowo—”

The mutant birds flapped their wings, swiftly flying towards the water surface.

Tu Long fiercely ordered, ”Hide!”

In an instant, all patrol team members activated their Spirit Turtle Shield and Stone Armor Talisman Stones.

With dual protection, they quickly lay down on the ground.

From afar, it seemed as if there were boulders of earth-yellow stone scattered across the forest.

In an instant, the bustling and lively crowd near the water’s edge seemed to disappear.

Only mutant creatures continued to climb on the water’s edge.

As these mutant birds descended, some directly attacked the mutant fish on the shore.

Some cautiously landed on nearby trees.

Others hovered indecisively in mid-air.

But the majority had landed, beginning to feast on mutant fish and shrimp.

Some fierce mutant crabs and lobsters raised their claws high, quickly counterattacking these mutant birds.

However, the mutant birds’ claws were like they were forged from steel, a fierce strike and a cracking sound was heard.

In an instant, whether crab or lobster, the shells immediately shattered, spilling out snow-white shreds of meat.

Then, the mutant bird’s spear-like beak drilled directly into the broken shell, starting to peck at the meat inside, feasting heartily.

To these mutant beasts beneath the water, it was as if the avian mutants ruled their world.

No matter how they struggled to evade, the avian mutants, with their hovering ability, could effortlessly snatch them up and smash them down onto the ground.

The patrol teams locked onto their own targets.

While noting the capabilities of the mutant birds, they quietly approached.

Li Qinghua’s patrol team had already devised a plan.

With just a glance from Li Qinghua, they sprang into action instantly.

He suddenly spread his hands, and the void twisted, trapping a mutant bird instantly within a space bubble!

Then, he shouted sharply, ”Go!”

Two speed-type superpower users swiftly rushed in, readying a large net, and cast it over the space bubble.

Four strength-type superpower users forcefully pulled on the four corners of the large net, pulling it open with all their might.

Li Qinghua instantly withdrew his palm, and the space bubble dissipated immediately, the space smoothing out rapidly.

The entire net caught the mutant bird severely.

The four strength-type superpower users pressed down forcefully, causing the massive mutant bird to crash to the ground with a thud.

The mutant bird struggled angrily, but its wings couldn’t spread open, and it could not lift off.

Its beak was caught in the netting, unable to move or attack.

As for the claws that could tear through rock and steel, they were snared tightly by the large net’s gaps, tangled around its legs.

For this kind of avian mutant beast, it’s not afraid of a head-on confrontation, but fears such entangling weapons.

That’s their nemesis.

The mutant bird that Li Qinghua’s team captured was relatively large, and in its violent struggles, nearly overturned the four strength-type superpower users several times.

Fortunately, at a critical moment, Li Qinghua used his space superpower to move a large stone onto the net, pinning the mutant bird down with a thud.

On another side, Gu Feng led his team, releasing billows of smoke that enveloped several mutant birds.

Then, several strength-type superpower users dashed into the smoke, swiftly throwing nets under Gu Feng’s guidance.

They also captured two giant mutant birds.

Meanwhile, Wu Ying’s team was even more incisive.

He used his shadow superpower to merge into the shadows, and as the mutant giant bird lowered its head to peck at a mutant sea shell, he quickly shackled the bird with an anklet.

The other end of the anklet was directly nailed into the mountainside, making it impossible for the mutant giant bird to escape no matter how it struggled.

Every team had its own method to deal with these mutant birds.

The scene was the largest on Zhao Kai’s side.

Zhao Kai and Kong Sheng worked together, with Kong Sheng controlling water flow to entangle the mutant bird, followed by Zhao Kai’s swift Ice Palm.

The mutant bird was instantly frozen into a statue.

The speed-type superpower users in their team quickly netted the frozen bird and dragged it away swiftly.

Their group was the most efficient, capturing three mutant giant birds in less than ten minutes.

With the patrol teams suddenly making their move, they startled the entire bird flock.

The giant mutant birds were so frightened they rapidly took flight, with most soaring swiftly off the ground, escaping into the sky.

There were not many opportunities for the patrol teams to attack.

Fortunately, each team had a contingency plan and managed to capture one or two each.

The fastest had three or four.

In total, more than thirty mutant birds were captured!

In the sky, the mutant birds circled, emitting angry, sharp cries.

Some mutant birds, in their rage, dove down at high speed to attack the patrol team members on the ground.

But the patrol members, anticipating this, had both their Spirit Turtle Shields and Stone Armor activated, making them fearless.

One particularly hasty mutant bird was instantly trapped by Li Qinghua’s space bubble, left with nowhere to escape.

Li Qinghua’s team captured another mutant giant bird in this way.

Thus, while the mutant giant birds in the sky continued to wail, they dared not come down.

Liang Yuan emerged from the water, seeing the patrol team members each dragging these mutant birds quickly into the woods.

Once in the woods, these giant birds would find it nearly impossible to dive and pursue them.

”Mr. Liang, they won’t come down.”

Tu Long quickly approached Liang Yuan’s side, looking at the monstrous birds in the sky.

Liang Yuan nodded slightly and asked, ”How many mutant birds were captured?”

”I counted thirty-four, but these mutant birds are not that big; we can’t catch the really large ones.”

Liang Yuan nodded slightly: ”That should be enough; with the feathers from these thirty-four mutant birds, we should be able to make an Insulating Feather Robe.”

”That should be more than enough.” Tu Long chuckled.

Liang Yuan looked up at the bird flock lingering, frowning: ”This group of birds seems different from the last ones we encountered.”

Hearing this, Tu Long immediately nodded: ”Different indeed, they are much smaller, with the smallest just over two meters long.”

Liang Yuan pondered and said, ”It seems the number and types of bird flocks in the sky are not the same; what exactly lies above this Thundercloud?”

Tu Long looked up at the sky, took a deep breath, and said, ”We’ll only know if we go up and have a look.”

”First, let’s get these mutant birds back and let everyone rest.”

Liang Yuan instructed, then went back to dealing with these mutant fish and shrimp.
