Apocalyptic Flood: Sexy Beauty Neighbor's Midnight Plea for Food

Chapter 890: Chapter 331: Min Guoqiang’s Thoughts

”Can that guy be trusted?”

On the raft heading back, Wen Xiao couldn’t help but ask again.

This mission is extremely dangerous. If it fails, it could end in complete defeat, and they could all lose their lives.

Zhang Peng also looked serious and said, ”He has no reason to harm us. Min Guoqiang is a smart person; he should be able to see through Xu Liefeng’s treacherous intentions.”

”If he wants to harm us, he’s not far from death himself.”

”I don’t believe he doesn’t understand the principle of ’if the lips are gone, the teeth will be cold’. ”

Wen Xiao thought for a moment and nodded silently. Indeed, Old Min is as cunning as a fox and should not be a fool.

As long as he has some sense, he shouldn’t harm them.

”After we go back, have a good talk with Gao Yucheng and An Minghui,” Zhang Peng said.

Wen Xiao nodded slightly, ”I understand.”

...

On top of Building 75, Min Guoqiang and Luo Yang watched Zhang Peng and the other person depart on the water, both remaining silent.

Luo Yang asked, ”Uncle Qiang, have you really decided?”

Min Guoqiang nodded slightly, ”If we want to survive, this is the only way.”

”But... didn’t you say you wanted to go to Yangshan?”

Min Guoqiang gave a bitter smile, ”Yangshan? Do you think there’s still a chance?”

”Since the great flood broke out, with all sorts of mutant creatures appearing, even if we escaped to Yangshan, so what?”

”Who knows, it might have long turned into a paradise for mutant beasts.”

Luo Yang pursed his lips, his eyes showing a fierce look, ”That’s still better than being trapped and dying in the building. I’d rather fight mutant beasts and die in the mouth of a mutant beast.”

Min Guoqiang sighed, ”If it weren’t for Xu Liefeng, I would choose to go to Yangshan.”

”But now... it’s different.”

”Why is it different?” Luo Yang couldn’t help but ask.

Min Guoqiang said, ”I’ve heard news from Xu Liefeng that Brother Huo, Li Ye, the former leader of Building 88, has long taken people to Linjiang University.”

”Brother Huo? Linjiang University?” Luo Yang was stunned.

Min Guoqiang said, ”There is a School of Shipbuilding over at Linjiang University, where several functional ships are docked.”

”Brother Huo and his team plan to bring one back. If we calculate the days, they should be back soon.”

”Xu Liefeng said if Brother Huo returns, he can promise us some spots on the ship.”

Luo Yang’s eyes widened, showing an incredulous expression, ”A ship? They can get a ship? Is... is that possible? Do you believe them?”

Min Guoqiang glanced at Luo Yang and said, ”I do.”

Luo Yang quickly asked, ”Why?”

”Because I’ve seen those ships.”

Min Guoqiang said calmly.

”I used to work as security at Linjiang University and saw with my own eyes those large ships docked at the School of Shipbuilding.”

”Since the great flood came, if there’s anywhere safe, besides a ship, I can’t think of anywhere else.”

”There are terrifying mutant sea creatures in the flood; do you think there are no beasts on the mountains evolved into terrifying mutant monsters?”

”Only a ship can’t be submerged by the flood and can move around to search for resources.”

”So a refuge on a ship is the safest refuge, understand?”

Min Guoqiang’s words left Luo Yang with his mouth wide open.

He couldn’t help but say, ”But how do you know that Brother Huo can successfully seize a ship? What if those ships have long been taken by others?”

Min Guoqiang shook his head, ”I’m betting, working with Zhang Peng is akin to gambling on that Mr. Liang possibly at Yangshan.”

”Allying with Xu Liefeng is betting on Brother Huo.”

”Do you think Mr. Liang safely reaching Yangshan is more likely or Brother Huo seizing a ship?”

Luo Yang immediately said, ”I think Mr. Liang’s chances are greater!”

”Alright, then who do you think has a better chance if Xu Liefeng and Zhang Peng’s groups clash?”

”Uh... Xu Liefeng,” Luo Yang reluctantly said.

Min Guoqiang sighed, ”You see, even if we join them, the chance of overcoming Xu Liefeng’s group isn’t great.”

”If we risk our lives, even possibly losing them, just for Zhang Peng to take us to Yangshan, do you think it’s reliable?”

”Not to mention whether Zhang Peng and we can reach Yangshan. Even if we find Yangshan, what if Mr. Liang is not doing well there?”

”What if Mr. Liang isn’t even on Yangshan, having died halfway?”

”Assuming Mr. Liang is on Yangshan and alive, how is that related to Zhang Peng?”

”If we don’t help Zhang Peng and he perishes under Xu Liefeng’s hand, would Mr. Liang know?”

”Even if Xu Liefeng breaks his promise later, or Brother Huo doesn’t seize a ship, can’t we go to Yangshan ourselves then?”

”Anyway, if Zhang Peng dies, when we go to Yangshan, if we meet Mr. Liang, we can place all the blame on Xu Liefeng.”

Luo Yang stood frozen, suddenly feeling that Uncle Qiang made a lot of sense.

Indeed, the path to Yangshan doesn’t necessarily require Zhang Peng to guide them.

Why can’t they go themselves?

On the contrary, if Brother Huo truly brings back a ship, they’d indeed need something to show their allegiance.

Right now, isn’t Zhang Peng’s group the perfect token?

Luo Yang’s eyes shone as he said, ”So tomorrow, we really lead Xu Liefeng’s group over?”

Min Guoqiang nodded slightly, ”Yes, tomorrow, we’ll bring both sides here, and then create a little chaos at the side without getting involved.”

”Alright!”

...

The next morning, the sky was filled with dark clouds and continuous heavy rain.

A ship broke through the flood, slowly sailing on the boundless water surface.

In the captain’s cabin, after Liang Yuan finished teaching Lu Yuyan as usual, the little girl left the cabin sweating profusely, her face flushed and out of breath.

Liang Yuan came out, glanced at Zhu Yuchuan, and asked, ”How long do we expect to reach Meidu Garden?”

”Mr. Liang, according to the map, Meidu Garden is about thirty kilometers from here.”

”Following the previous elevated route, we should definitely be there in an hour or two.”

Liang Yuan nodded slightly; this was because the ship was cautious of tall buildings and other structures lurking underwater, fearing to hit the rocks, so it slowed down the speed.

Otherwise, it wouldn’t take two hours to cover thirty kilometers.

He looked at the map and studied the positions of Meidu Garden and Linjiang University.

The Meidu Garden isn’t very far from Linjiang University, around five kilometers.

Going to Meidu Garden was incidental; his main objective was still Linjiang University.

Liang Yuan glanced again at the residential areas near Linjiang University and couldn’t help but frown slightly.

From the map, Linjiang University’s location is quite remote. Although there are many buildings around, not many are tall.

Many residential areas might only have about eighteen floors, possibly because the government won’t allow developers to build them higher or for some other reason.

If all are only eighteen floors, they may already be submerged.

Liang Yuan was slightly worried in his heart, fearing that few people might have survived at Linjiang University.

He quickly scanned around Linjiang University and soon found several places that might still have survivors.

Some buildings are behind Wanda Plaza near Linjiang University, with four or five office towers exceeding thirty floors.

Liang Yuan had once had a meal at this Wanda Plaza and seen these office towers; in theory, this should be the most likely place to have survivors.

Then Liang Yuan looked outside the five-kilometer range of Linjiang University, where there are many new residential areas.

There are quite a few buildings like the 32-floor tall Meidu Garden.

And ignoring these tall residential areas, within five kilometers around Linjiang University, the most likely place to have survivors should be the Mandarin Duck Mountain behind Linjiang University.

This Mandarin Duck Mountain is well-known in Linjiang University; there are many platforms nearby to watch the sunrise, with a slightly larger platform where tourists go camping to watch the sunrise every year.

Of course, more often, students from Linjiang University like climbing Mandarin Duck Mountain.

It’s worth mentioning that many university student couples like wild ”battles” on Mandarin Duck Mountain. In the early years, the school forum would jokingly refer to these couples as wild mandarin ducks.

Several wild couple videos even went viral online.

Despite several crackdowns by Linjiang University, this immoral conduct hasn’t been stopped.

On the contrary, it drove students to go there, turning Mandarin Duck Mountain into a popular check-in location for photos.

Some opportunists sensed a business opportunity and built inns and homestays on the mountain, making Mandarin Duck Mountain quite interesting.

Liang Yuan also traveled to Mandarin Duck Mountain for a photo op in the early years, accompanied by his then-girlfriend.

Thinking of Mandarin Duck Mountain, Liang Yuan couldn’t help but recall his now ex-girlfriend.

To be honest, it’s just been half a year, but Liang Yuan feels like decades have passed; he can barely remember what his ex-girlfriend looked like.

If he hadn’t forced himself to think, he almost forgot she ever existed.

Indeed, time is the best healer of emotional wounds.

The woman who once burdened him with nearly a million in mortgage debt is now just a thing of the past.

Shaking his head, Liang Yuan cast out some odd thoughts from his mind and said to Zhu Yuchuan, ”There are quite a few eighteen or nineteen-story buildings near Meidu Garden, there’s no need to speed up to make it in time, safety first.”

Zhu Yuchuan nodded immediately, ”Understood, Mr. Liang.”

Liang Yuan turned to leave the room and walked onto the deck, seeing Li Qinghua standing at the bow with Zhou Qingming, gazing ahead.

He walked over, looked in the direction they were gazing, and saw the dilapidated residential building ahead.

”Recognize this place?” Liang Yuan casually asked.

Li Qinghua snapped back to reality, looked at Liang Yuan, nodded slightly, and sighed, ”My girlfriend’s home is over there.”

Liang Yuan looked at Li Qinghua in surprise, ”Your girlfriend?”

Li Qinghua helplessly said, ”Can’t I have a girlfriend?”

Liang Yuan shook his head, ”I thought you looked like you were in your twenties and always alone, didn’t expect you to have a girlfriend, want to go over and look for her?”

Li Qinghua shook his head, ”Not long after the great flood, I already went to look.”

Liang Yuan took a look at Li Qinghua after hearing his words and didn’t continue asking.

Since he looked, but she isn’t by his side, the conclusion can be deduced.

Zhou Qingming also spoke up, ”Sister Wan and I are both from this community. It was an accident to meet Qinghua then; it was Qinghua who saved us.”

”Later, we left here together to find food nearby. The nearest place was Henglong Building.”

Liang Yuan hearing this, immediately remembered they were not far from Henglong Building.

He first met Li Qinghua and them near Henglong Building.

”Why didn’t you go to Henglong Building?” Liang Yuan asked.

Li Qinghua bitterly smiled, ”Isn’t it because of that mysterious Turtle Island? To my memory, there were no islands near Henglong Building, so we stayed to explore this island.”

”Didn’t expect to bump into you.”

Liang Yuan laughed, ”It seems a coincidence, under the great flood, some people might never see their family and friends again, didn’t expect us to meet twice.”

Li Qinghua and Zhou Qingming smiled too at his words.

Thinking this way, it seems like there is a true bond between both parties.

Looking at Liang Yuan, Li Qinghua solemnly said, ”Mr. Liang, thank you for taking us in at Yangshan.”

”I apologize for my past actions.”

Zhou Qingming also said, ”Mr. Liang, I apologize too. After being in Yangshan for so long, I now understand that you are really doing things, the one who can truly lead us to survive.”

Liang Yuan laughed, ”Since you have joined Yangshan, there’s no need to mention this anymore.”

”You’ve served in Yangshan for a month, and all grievances were written off at that time.”

”I hope you treat the Yangshan Shelter as your home in the future, not just my Yangshan.”

”Even without me, Yangshan remains Yangshan.”

”But without Yangshan, living in this flood doomsday would be difficult.”

Li Qinghua and Zhou Qingming nodded emphatically, both genuinely acknowledging their identities as members of the Yangshan Shelter.
