Apocalyptic Flood: Sexy Beauty Neighbor's Midnight Plea for Food

Chapter 873: Chapter 321: Allegiance and Rewards

Tu Long saw Liang Yuan studying the flotation platform and squatted down to examine it as well, saying, ”Mr. Liang, is there something wrong with these platforms?”

”The buoyancy is abnormal. This thin layer of flotation platform shouldn’t hold so many of us without sinking.”

Upon hearing this, Tu Long immediately thought of something and said, ”There’s obviously adhesive between the bottles and plastic boards. Does it look like the sea cucumber adhesive we collected at Yangshan Farm?”

Liang Yuan nodded slightly, ”The adhesive is indeed sea cucumber mucus, which is not only extremely sticky but also solid and wear-resistant, difficult to fall off. However, sea cucumber mucus shouldn’t have such strong buoyancy.”

The two of them opened each plastic bottle and board, checking for suspicious areas.

Qi Delong, seeing this, couldn’t help but say, ”Mr. Liang, I might know the reason.”

Hearing this, Liang Yuan turned his head to him with slight surprise, ”You know?”

Qi Delong nodded slightly, pointing at the plastic platform beneath their feet, ”Underneath here, there are actually several large buoyancy-carrying devices made from fish bladders.”

Hearing this, Liang Yuan was slightly taken aback and asked, ”How do you know?”

Qi Delong hesitated for a moment, then said, ”I once tried to dive into Building 87 to rescue people and accidentally discovered the devices beneath the plastic platforms.”

Liang Yuan looked Qi Delong up and down, suddenly asking, ”What’s your superpower?”

Qi Delong was silent for a moment before finally saying, ”Water Attribute Superpower.”

Liang Yuan understood; a Water Attribute Superpower User would naturally have no problem diving.

He immediately said to Tu Long, ”I’ll go down and take a look. This place is in your hands now.”

”Don’t worry, Mr. Liang, I’ve got it.”

Liang Yuan quickly enveloped himself with a layer of telekinesis, forming a spherical barrier that encased him.

Then, Liang Yuan jumped into the water, quickly going underneath the platform to have a look.

He saw that all around the platform, various sizes of plastic boxes were attached and adhered.

Liang Yuan went closer, tapped it lightly, and the plastic box shattered open.

The box was indeed hollow, with a large, inflated fish bladder tied inside.

This fish bladder was large, about 40 cubic centimeters, and bulged with gas.

And such fish bladders and boxes were plenty beneath this platform.

It was precisely due to these fish bladders that the thin plastic boards and bottles-based platform could stably float on the surface.

”It’s really a brilliant idea, using the buoyancy of fish bladders to create floating platforms.”

Liang Yuan marveled internally, human wisdom is truly limitless.

With fish bladder inflation making a floating platform, then by expanding the idea, could it perhaps also be used to make ships and such?

Liang Yuan checked the design again and found that after inflating the fish bladders, the seals were still adhered with sea cucumber mucus.

The plastic boxes outside were a protective measure to prevent mutant underwater creatures from accidentally biting through the fish bladders.

The protective measures were somewhat simple, with poor defense from the plastic box. If they encountered mutant creatures like mutant crabs, they could easily cut through the plastic boxes and damage the fish bladders inside.

He then returned to the surface and saw Li Xiangyang bringing back the boat.

Under Tu Long’s command, women and children rescued from Building 87 were successively sent onto the boat.

Soon all the victims from Building 87 were rescued and boarded the raft and small boats.

Taking advantage of the gap, Liang Yuan searched through for usable supplies and packed them all into the inventory.

After doing all this, the third transport raft also arrived.

Liang Yuan looked at Yan Congjun, Qi Delong, and others, asking, ”Have you guys made a decision?”

Yan Congjun and the others hesitated, and Qi Delong said, ”Mr. Liang, can I go back and discuss it with everyone?”

Liang Yuan nodded, saying, ”My boat is outside the community. I’ll wait only two hours for you, and after two hours, we will leave.”

Qi Delong hurriedly nodded. At this moment, a short, thin young man suddenly gritted his teeth and shouted, ”Mr. Liang, I want to join you.”

Hearing this, Liang Yuan looked at him.

Yan Congjun and Qi Delong both had slight changes in their expressions.

Yan Congjun couldn’t help but say, ”Li Xiaojun, don’t you want to go back and discuss it with your companions?”

Li Xiaojun looked bitter and sighed: ”Uncle Yan, Uncle Qi, we have no way out now. Not only have we run out of food, but we’ve also been eating mutant fish for nearly a month; some people are already becoming a little deranged.”

”I’m afraid if this continues, I won’t be able to hold everyone back, and we might end up taking Lai Zhiyong’s path.”

Yan Congjun and Qi Delong both had changes in their expressions, knowing the dire situation in Li Xiaojun’s building.

Yan Congjun asked, ”Xiaojun, how many people are there on your side?”

Li Xiaojun looked gloomy, saying, ”About a month ago, Aunt Zhang on the nineteenth floor of our building suddenly awakened by herself, but since she lived alone, no one knew she was in her awakening period.”

”When we found out, she had already failed to awaken and turned into a mutant monster.”

”As you know, once you become a mutant monster, the awakening speed becomes extremely fast, and her power increased rapidly.”

”We lost quite a few people in our building, and it took great effort to finally kill her. Now, there are only twelve people left in the building.”

Li Xiaojun’s words immediately caused everyone to change color.

Mutation failure, becoming a mutant monster, is a heavy burden on everyone’s mind.

For ordinary people, they long to awaken and possess powerful superpowers.

But they also fear that failing to awaken might turn them into terrifying mutant monsters.
