From Folly to Fortune：I Rewrite My Life After Rebirth!

Chengfeng Restaurant!

Ever since Mu Tou told Brother Da Cong about his betrayal of Chengfeng Restaurant, explaining it was because his mother was sick and needed money urgently.

Brother Da Cong stopped targeting Mu Tou.

Every meal time, he secretly saved some food for Mu Tou.

Even the kitchen, he let Mu Tou in when no one was around!

It just so happened that today the restaurant was on monthly leave, everyone including the steward Yu Dahai had left, leaving only Wei Dacong and Mu Tou.

Mu Tou couldn’t help but try to please Wei Dacong.

He handed a jar of Daughter’s Red to Mu Tou, chuckling as he said, ”This is Daughter’s Red, though not a great wine, it’s worth a few hundred wen!”

Mu Tou loves wine, especially good wine!

But on usual days, he has to work, so he doesn’t drink.

Whenever there’s a holiday, he would surely enjoy a bowl of peanuts, a bowl of peas, a few dishes, and drink alone for the whole day!

After sleeping the night, he would get up the next day and continue working!

Since it never affected his work, nobody at the restaurant ever mentioned Mu Tou’s hobby!

”Brother, you’re thoughtful. Consider this as me owing you a favor. If ever you need anything from me, I’ll surely help!” Wei Dacong said to Mu Tou.

Mu Tou’s face immediately blossomed with joy upon hearing this.

”Brother Da Cong, actually, I only have one wish—this restaurant’s snails are delicious, if I could learn how they’re made, I would die without any regrets!” Mu Tou pretended to be sorrowful.

Having just received Mu Tou’s wine, Brother Da Cong heard Mu Tou’s wish.

He promptly patted his chest, ”That’s easy, leave it to me!”

”Really?” Mu Tou was stunned, hardly believing that such a good thing fell into his lap.

”Absolutely, but you can’t tell anyone about it. I’ll only show you once, and only once for you alone!”

Wei Dacong said.

”Definitely! Just for me alone!” Mu Tou replied.

”Swear that once you learn, you won’t tell anyone else!” Wei Dacong continued.

”I swear, Brother Da Cong, teach me quickly!”

Mu Tou urged Wei Dacong, while Wei Dacong remained calm and composed.

”Don’t rush, the restaurant’s empty today, we can take our time!”

They entered the kitchen, and Wei Dacong began selecting snails.

”Mu Tou, you know there are two kinds of snails, right? One with a shell, one without. I’ll teach you both today!”

Wei Dacong was generous with his knowledge.

Selecting the ingredients, he began explaining the method, Mu Tou’s eyes fixated on him.

Originally, he thought that he would need thirty taels of silver to buy Mu Tou’s recipe.

Now, he didn’t have to pay, and still got the cooking method.

Most importantly, he could use this trick to dupe Xia Guagua and surely obtain thirty taels of silver.

Thirty taels could buy seven or eight acres of land.

With these seven or eight acres, he wouldn’t need to worry about food and clothing for life!

Under Wei Dacong’s demonstration, soon a plate of stir-fried snails was ready.

The air was filled with the aroma of snails.

Mu Tou sniffed, feeling his soul nearly transcend.

”Smells so good, Brother Da Cong, let me taste it!”

Mu Tou said, reaching out for the snails, but Wei Dacong picked up chopsticks from the side of the stove and gave his hand a hard slap.

In an instant, Mu Tou’s hand was swollen.

”Brother Da Cong, you...” Mu Tou stared at Wei Dacong, confused.

Wei Dacong explained, ”You forgot the rules, once a dish is prepared, it can’t be sneaked upon other than at the table!”

Mu Tou grinned sheepishly.

”Then I’ll wait until it’s on the table!”

Mu Tou watched as Wei Dacong made the second dish of snails with shells, followed by a few simple dishes.

Those didn’t interest Mu Tou; he was mentally rehearsing the snail recipe countless times.

Once sure he remembered it, he finally smiled.

Once the dishes were ready, Wei Dacong instructed Mu Tou, ”Mu Tou, go tidy up the front courtyard. Today we’ll have our meal there, feeling like noblemen!”

Hearing these words, Mu Tou naturally went off happily.

Once Mu Tou left, Wei Dacong hurriedly carried the dishes to the front courtyard.

Soon, a table in the front courtyard was laden with dishes for Mu Tou and Wei Dacong’s lunch.

Snails, suck snails, braised pork, steamed fish head, and pig tripe!

The pig tripe was somewhat strong-flavored, but men love it with their drinks.

The two guys drank and began to talk.

”Brother Da Cong, what do you think of the owner?” Mu Tou asked.

”They’re naturally good! I’ve never seen such good owners, giving such high wages and vacations!

The previous restaurants I worked at never had such treatment!” Wei Dacong openly praised Mu Shuangshuang and Lu Yuanfeng.

Mu Tou agreed, ”Quite nice, but no matter how good, we are outsiders in the eyes of the owner!”

Mu Tou spoke while shaking his head.

With a bowl of wine downed, he seemed somewhat downcast and lonely!

Wei Dacong, seeing this, said, ”Actually, we aren’t treated as outsiders. The owner gave me a recipe, with many dishes I’ve never seen before!

If made right, it might attract many guests to our restaurant!”

”Recipe? What kind of recipe? Can it really attract a lot of guests? I don’t believe it!” Mu Tou expressed skepticism.

Wei Dacong chuckled, ”You kid don’t understand! I saw that recipe, and found it ingenious!”

After a few more drinks, Wei Dacong’s face turned red.

They delved deeper into personal matters.

Starting with the restaurant, then moving on to their wives.

Wei Dacong was married and had a child.

Mu Tou lived alone.

Mu Tou teased Wei Dacong, ”Hey Brother Da Cong, I heard wives are the softest thing on earth—those breasts, those lips...”

”Haha, yes, my wife’s beautiful! Her eyes like gems, her nose just right, never tires me! Every night, I have to touch her a few times!”

Once men start chatting, they can talk about anything.

Seeing the opportunity, Mu Tou asked, ”Brother Da Cong, what’s that recipe you mentioned, show your brother, let me broaden my horizons. People say it’s strange not to know the owner’s most prized possession at Chengfeng Restaurant!”

Wei Dacong chuckled at Mu Tou, ”The recipe, the recipe...”

”What about the recipe?” Mu Tou laughed.

”The recipe can’t be shown to you. The owner said besides her and the male owner, I’m the only one in the restaurant allowed to see it! I promised her!”

”Brother Da Cong, it’s just the two of us here, showing it shouldn’t matter. I guarantee I won’t talk like I kept the snail method a secret, I swear—please, just let your brother take a look...”

Mu Tou was very persuasive, and Wei Dacong, worn down, finally said, ”Alright, I’ll let you see it, but only a glance!”
