From Folly to Fortune：I Rewrite My Life After Rebirth!

Chapter 1096: Chapter 1092: Proposing Collaboration

The tea was served quickly, followed by some snacks.

”Miss Shuangshuang, do you have any thoughts about expanding the business?”

Mrs. Liu poured herself a cup of Tieguanyin, took a sip, and started chatting with Mu Shuangshuang.

Mu Shuangshuang couldn’t quite grasp what Mrs. Liu meant, so she gave a conservative answer.

”I do have some ideas, but Yuan Feng and I are still very young. If we expand the business too much, I’m afraid we won’t have the capability.”

Mrs. Liu nodded with satisfaction upon hearing Mu Shuangshuang’s answer.

”At such a young age, you do have a thorough way of thinking. But people must grow, and growth necessitates going through certain experiences.”

”You’re right, Madam, Yuan Feng and I will heed your advice.” Mu Shuangshuang replied with a grin.

Up to this point, Mu Shuangshuang was basically sparring with Mrs. Liu in a playful manner.

Having seen such situations countless times, Mrs. Liu naturally understood.

But precisely because of this, Mrs. Liu felt that keeping Mu Shuangshuang around was meaningful.

Mrs. Liu thought that all the things she did regarding Chengfeng Restaurant wouldn’t be normal if Mu Shuangshuang didn’t respond at all.

”That cake you made before, I still can’t forget its taste. I’m wondering, what if we cooperate and open a shop dedicated to cakes?

First, I can enjoy that taste anytime, and second, you can profit from it. Once you accumulate enough money, we can expand the business of Chengfeng Restaurant. What do you think?”

Mrs. Liu didn’t want to beat around the bush with Mu Shuangshuang anymore; she wanted assurance.

Unfortunately, this assurance was something Mu Shuangshuang was destined not to give her.

”Madam, regarding this matter, the town’s landlord had approached me before with a similar proposal, but I declined.

It’s not that I’m arrogant or that I don’t want to earn money, but this thing can’t be scaled up. Every process is far more complex than you imagine.

The cake you saw before, Yuan Feng and I started preparing at the third watch of the night and didn’t finish until lunch.

Plus, it involves many techniques that are hard to learn. Without mastering them, you won’t get that flavor!”

Who doesn’t want to earn money when it’s available? But it has to be easy to earn.

If she occasionally made cakes for others, that would be fine, but doing it like that her whole life would be impossible.

Mu Shuangshuang spoke sincerely, showing no sign of pretense.

Yet Mu Qingqing, who was standing to the side, just had to come and stir things up.

”Godmother, I think it’s better to let it go. My cousin clearly doesn’t want to cooperate with you.

Maybe she thinks the benefits you offer aren’t enough, or she wants to open a shop herself?”

Mu Qingqing’s words did make some sense.

Mrs. Liu had considered this, but unlike Mu Qingqing, she wouldn’t say it out loud.

”If you think that’s my intention, then suit yourself. I don’t need to explain anything to anyone!” Mu Shuangshuang said and stood up.

”Mrs. Liu, we’ve had the tea, and I’ve said my piece; I have other matters to attend to, so I’ll take my leave!”

Lu Yuanfeng followed Mu Shuangshuang, and the two paid for the two pots of tea and snacks before leaving the restaurant without looking back.

Liu Chengzhi was very displeased.

So he didn’t bother with formalities.

”Mu Qingqing, you eat at the Liu family, use the Liu family’s resources, yet you still interfere when my mother is discussing business.

Other families’ cousins love each other dearly, while yours fight to the death. Is it that others are always the issue, and you’re never the problem?”

Liu Chengzhi still couldn’t understand how his mother took a liking to this woman.

If it was like the rumors claimed, because of his sister, but this woman didn’t measure up to his sister at all.

In terms of virtue, character, or appearance, she couldn’t hold a candle to her.

”You...” Mu Qingqing was trembling with anger. She had been tolerating Liu Chengzhi all along because he was Mrs. Liu’s biological son. Yet he didn’t show any gratitude and constantly targeted her!

”Mother, you saw that, right? I just casually said something, and she got angry. With her temperament, how could anyone bully her?” Liu Chengzhi complained to Mrs. Liu.

”Zhi, stop it. Enough of this!” Mrs. Liu chastised Liu Chengzhi.

Liu Chengzhi flared up and stood up, storming out of the teahouse in front of Mrs. Liu.

Mu Qingqing watched the scene unfold and couldn’t help but feel secretly delighted.

Mrs. Liu was on her side. Even when her son spoke against her, she still stood by her...

”Godmother... I should go after Zhizhi, shouldn’t I? He’s still so young, it’s not safe for him to run off on his own.” Mu Qingqing feigned concern.

Who knew, Mrs. Liu waved her hand. ”No need, let him reflect on his behavior! This child is getting more unruly!”

Upon hearing this, Mu Qingqing indeed decided not to look for Liu Chengzhi.

—

Liu Chengzhi dashed out of the teahouse, chasing in the direction Mu Shuangshuang and Lu Yuanfeng had left.

After half a street, he saw Mu Shuangshuang buying candied haws.

”You were lying to my mother just now, weren’t you? And you can still eat?” Liu Chengzhi bluntly questioned Mu Shuangshuang.

”Hey, you little brat, why do you always do these irresponsible things?” Mu Shuangshuang asked with a feigned grimace.

In truth, she wasn’t upset at all. On the contrary, seeing Liu Chengzhi chase after them lifted her spirits.

This kid was still childlike, and his personality was a bit like Yuan Feng.

”Hmph, I’m just speaking the truth, unlike your cousin who lies through her teeth all the time, like a liar.” Liu Chengzhi didn’t hide his dislike for Mu Qingqing at all.

In front of Mu Shuangshuang, he always spoke candidly.

”I don’t like her either, but what can my dislike do? Your mother is very fond of her. Honestly, your mother is among the most capable people in Qingshan Town, how can she not see through Mu Qingqing’s facade?”

Mu Shuangshuang said while stuffing a candied haw into her mouth, then handed another one to Liu Chengzhi.

Liu Chengzhi unceremoniously took it and mimicked Mu Shuangshuang, taking a bite of the candied haw.

Instantly, his teeth felt as if they would fall out from the sourness.

”What is this? Why is it so sour?” Liu Chengzhi asked awkwardly, yet he didn’t discard the candied haw.

”You’ve never had it?” Mu Shuangshuang asked in surprise.

”No! This thing isn’t tasty.”

Despite saying so, Liu Chengzhi politely refrained from discarding the candied haw.

”Haha, did you just say it doesn’t taste good? Don’t you find the sweet and sour taste appetizing at a time like this?” Mu Shuangshuang chuckled and asked.

”Really?” Liu Chengzhi looked skeptical.

”You’ll know after a few more bites!” With that, Mu Shuangshuang handed her candied haw to Lu Yuanfeng.

Lu Yuanfeng didn’t like the sweet-sour flavor either, but anything from Mu Shuangshuang, he could accept.

Biting into the candied haw, the sourness and sweetness filled his mouth.

Lu Yuanfeng suddenly realized that this sweet-sour flavor was actually quite nice!
