Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2934: Chapter 2943: If I Say No Respect, Then No Respect!

Benjamin Sinclair rubbed his temples, not believing that the servants at home would be so unruly as to bully Renee Anderson. He wearily asked, following her words, ”What’s wrong? Is there something you want to tell your uncle? We’ll become a family sooner or later, is there really a need to be so indirect with me?”

”Uncle Sinclair...” Renee looked moved, tears rolling down. She wiped them away and immediately told Benjamin about the call she had just received at home, leaving nothing out.

Of course, she wasn’t foolish enough to tell Benjamin that she had previously hired a reporter to secretly photograph Baron Lawrence.

Benjamin’s brow furrowed deeper from initial surprise, and his expression grew more somber. Finally, suppressing his anger, he said to her, ”I understand. Go back to your room and rest. I’ll give Adam Sinclair a call.”

Like Austin Harper, he believed Adam had approached Baron Lawrence, causing him to target the Anderson Family.

That’s why he was so angry.

Because Adam’s actions were a slap in his face.

”Uncle Sinclair, this matter has nothing to do with Adam. Could it be that I’ve offended President Lawrence somehow, and that’s why...” Renee gently touched her belly, lowered her eyelids, looking very sad. ”But my grandpa is so old, I really can’t bear it.”

She suddenly raised her head, as if she had made a decision, and said painfully, ”Uncle Sinclair, I should terminate the pregnancy. I don’t want the people at home to be blamed because of me.”

What Benjamin cared about most now was his future grandchild. How could he let her terminate the pregnancy? His face immediately darkened, and he harshly reprimanded, ”Nonsense! The child in your belly is a life, how can you just decide to abort it?”

Tears streamed down Renee’s face, her voice hoarse, yet she maintained a composed appearance. ”But my grandpa...”

Seeing her crying so miserably, Benjamin couldn’t bear it, and he softened his stance, offering, ”Alright, Renee, don’t cry. Crying like this isn’t good for the child in your belly. Uncle was too angry just now and was harsh with you. Don’t worry, I’ll take the initiative to call Young Master Lawrence and ask what’s going on. If that doesn’t work, there’s still Adam; I’ll have him talk to Young Master Lawrence. Nothing will happen to your family.”

Renee seized the opportunity and stopped crying, no longer irritating others. She knew clearly that Benjamin was on her side now because of the child in her belly. If she did something bad concerning the child, Benjamin would be displeased, and over time, the child in her belly would become worthless to him. She quickly wiped her tears and sensibly said, ”Okay, thank you, Uncle. I’ll head downstairs first.”

”Go on down.”

”Uncle Sinclair, I just asked the servant to brew you some black tea, if you want some, I’ll have it brought up.” Renee appropriately showed concern, instinctively assuming the posture of a daughter-in-law.

Benjamin’s tightly furrowed brow relaxed, and he looked at her with satisfaction. ”Have it brought up, you go back to your room and rest. I’ll let you know once there’s news.”

”Okay.” She went downstairs.

After she left, Benjamin returned to his room, found his phone, and dialed Baron Lawrence’s number—

He had already thought about what to say, but to his surprise, after the phone rang seven or eight times, it was directly hung up!

At first, Benjamin couldn’t believe it, thinking it was an illusion. He immediately dialed again, and this time it was even more direct, a mechanical female voice came through the phone, ”Sorry, the number you dialed is temporarily unavailable.”

This instantaneous hang-up was a clear indication that he had been placed on the blacklist!
