Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2927: Chapter 2936: Isn’t His Displeasure Written All Over His Face?

”Baron Lawrence, what are you doing? Let go of me...” Enna Clark wriggled and struggled to try to get up.

”I won’t let go!” His warm breath spilled over her neck, with absolutely no intention of releasing her.

In this ambiguous posture, Enna Clark felt incredibly uncomfortable and could only turn her head to try to avoid his tickling breath, helplessly asking, ”Why not let go? What did I do to upset you?”

Baron Lawrence carefully avoided her belly, his knees pressing on either side of her, making it seem like he forcefully pinned her to the sofa, yet he skillfully avoided her belly so as not to hurt her.

His eyes, deep like a well, locked onto Enna Clark, as if wanting to see through her, ”You tell me.”

Enna Clark wished she could roll her eyes at him, huffed as she twisted her wrist to no avail, and resignedly sighed, letting him be, ”How would I know? I’m not the one who’s upset.”

”You’re not upset, so how do you know I’m upset?” This was simply an absurd argument.

Enna Clark finally looked at him, her clear, big eyes bright and warm, surprised as she said, ”Of course I know; anyone can see you’re upset with the way you’re acting now. It’s not just me who sees it; even Mr. Harris can see it.”

He was almost at the point of writing irritability and displeasure across his face—wasn’t that obvious enough for others to see?

Enna Clark felt a bit embarrassed.

Baron Lawrence’s handsome face stiffened, his brows knitted as he forced out a sentence, ”I’m not upset!”

”...” He still claimed he’s not upset—quite self-deceptive.

”Okay, you’re not upset. Then can you let go of me? With you pressing down like this, I’m uncomfortable.” Enna Clark couldn’t understand why he was upset; logically speaking, if anyone should be upset, it should be her, right? What did he have to be upset about?

”Where do you feel uncomfortable?” Baron Lawrence’s brow furrowed as he promptly glanced at her belly. Once assured he was not pressing on her, he slightly eased his hold to grant her a bit more freedom.

His series of reactions didn’t escape Enna Clark’s notice, causing a mix of amusement and exasperation in her heart.

On one hand, from Baron Lawrence’s reactions, she could discern that he didn’t intend to harm the little ”bun” in her belly, suggesting he indeed had no intention to terminate her pregnancy. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be so cautious.

On the other hand, she was frustrated that he knew she was pregnant yet refused to inform her.

”Alright, alright, I don’t feel uncomfortable anymore.” Enna Clark stopped him, no longer wanting to break free from his grip; she couldn’t manage that anyway. Tipping her head up, she asked, ”Baron Lawrence, what exactly do you want to say by dragging me here suddenly? Surely you weren’t just idle enough to drag me here, right?”

The handsome man had sharply defined features, his nose as high as mountain peaks, with his thin lips naturally tinted rose—a striking figure by any measure. Even under Enna Clark’s gaze, his expression seemed somewhat stiff, ”I’m just bored—is that not allowed?”

Enna Clark was skeptical, ”Sure. But the baby and the others need to surface for a rest. If you trap me here, they’ll struggle to find me, and it won’t look too good when they come in. Let go of me; I’ll go pour a cup of water for Mr. Harris and the others.”
