Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2931: Chapter 2940: Downfall at the Moment of Triumph

”Even if this didn’t happen, no one would blame you. If your Aunt knew you were pregnant, she’d only be happy. Don’t overthink it, you’re carrying a child now, your health comes first.” Benjamin Sinclair’s square face darkened as he held down his temper. ”As for Adam, I’ll find a chance to sit down and talk to him properly! This time I won’t let him mess around anymore. You’re pregnant now, before the baby is born you two are bound to get married sooner or later.”

How could the future heir of Sinclair Group carry the stain of an illegitimate child?

He absolutely would not allow it!

Renee Anderson bit her lower lip, secretly delighted, but none of it showed on her face. ”I still want to raise this child myself. Adam doesn’t like kids. If I force him to acknowledge the baby, he still won’t be happy about it. That’d be bad for me and bad for the child. It’s better if I raise the baby from the start. Maybe when the child is a bit older and he figures things out, he’ll be able to get along with the kid better.”

”He dares treat the child badly!” Benjamin was about to explode again, but there was no one here he could vent at. After raising his voice he could only slowly suppress his anger again, forcing himself to use a gentler tone to soothe her. ”Renee, don’t worry. I’ll make him take responsibility for what he’s done. As for him and that Star, they’ll break up sooner or later! I’m on your side. That Star can forget about getting past me! You just stay here at ease and focus on the pregnancy. Tomorrow I’ll arrange a few experienced gynecologists to stay by your side and take care of you. Whatever you need, just tell the servants, I’ll hand them the black card.”

”Uncle Sinclair, that’s really not necessary, I...”

”It’s decided!” Benjamin didn’t want his grandson to vanish into thin air; of course he only felt at ease keeping them under his own nose.

After speaking, he went upstairs to change his clothes.

Only after he left did Renee’s lips slowly curl up. She completely dropped the insistence on leaving she’d shown just now, straightened her back, and swept her gaze around the entire mansion, her eyes increasingly filled with unshakable ambition!

Just wait a little longer, and everything here would belong to her!

She would become the mistress of this house!

Her blood was boiling in her chest, and even the fright she’d gotten earlier at the Hospital was automatically pushed aside. She was just enjoying the high-end, soft sofa and having a servant brew black tea for her when her phone suddenly rang.

Renee lightly knit her brows, set down the cup of black tea in her hand, picked up her phone and glanced at it. Seeing the Caller ID, a look of surprise flashed across her face as she answered, ”Hello, Dad, what is it? Why did you suddenly call me?”

She didn’t know what was said on the other end, but she shot up from the sofa as if bounced by a spring and blurted out, ”What did you say? Grandpa was taken away? How could that be?”

One reason Benjamin was willing to accept her was because of the child in her belly, and another was that she was different from Olivia Lewis—she had a family background behind her.

Even if her family background couldn’t quite match Adam’s, it was still better than Olivia’s.

She’d finally managed to get one foot in the Sinclair Family’s door, and now of all times something had happened at home.

Flustered, Renee was also seething with anger. ”Grandpa was fine, how could something suddenly happen? Dad, who’s pulling strings behind the scenes, have you found out?”

Whatever was said on the other end made her expression change again and again, finally freezing into something extremely ugly. Her left hand clenched tightly around the phone, veins standing out on the back of her hand, and she forced the words out with great difficulty, ”You said... President Lawrence, Baron Lawrence?”
