Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1838: Chapter 1828: Have You Been to the Company?

Scott Harris is settling the bill in the back.

She and Baron Lawrence left the restaurant first.

When they reached downstairs, she didn’t wait for Scott to come down, and said first, ”We’ve had dinner, I should probably head back now.”

Bobby is still waiting for her at home.

Most importantly, she doesn’t know how to interact with him right now.

No matter how they interact, there’s always a sense of awkwardness.

Inexplicably, it reminds her of the rumors she saw online about him and the young model.

As soon as Enna Clark finished speaking, her wrist was grabbed forcefully again.

This time she frowned slightly and looked over with bright eyes.

Although she didn’t say a word, the questioning intent was obvious.

Baron Lawrence was momentarily embarrassed and angry from being stared at by her eyes, awkwardly avoiding her gaze. His thin lips tightened, but he didn’t let go of her hand. Suddenly, he proactively met her gaze again, asking, ”Enna Clark, did you sign in at the company?”

”...”

His question was too sudden, leaving her completely confused.

Baron Lawrence, however, seemed to have found some confidence, saying seriously and solemnly, ”Aren’t you resigning? According to the resignation process, shouldn’t you report to the company?”

”I’ve already handed over my work,” Enna Clark defended.

”You know you’ve handed it over? Who told you that?” He leisurely continued, ”Even if you’ve completed your handover, shouldn’t you follow a process? During the handover period, you should still report to the company as usual, right?”

Enna Clark was absolutely certain he was being intentional! But this intention, no matter what, made people feel depressed and angry.

Especially after he had done even more infuriating things previously!

She twisted her hand free, saying, ”I understand, I will go to the company to clock in. Can President Lawrence let go of my hand?”

The warm sensation in Baron Lawrence’s palm was so comforting that he didn’t actually want to release it. Yet, he loosened his grip, feigning nonchalance, ”I happen to be going to the company too, I can give you a lift.”

”That’s not necessary! I came by car!” Enna Clark, still angry, refused without thinking.

”Your driving skills are so poor, it’s better if I take you along.” Clearly, he wanted Enna Clark to go with him, but it came out as insincere.

The rational string in Enna Clark’s mind tightened fiercely as she looked into his eyes, saying, ”My skills are poor, that’s why I drove so fast just now, running a few red lights!”

After she said it, she realized what she had disclosed. She pressed her lips tighter and turned her head away, saying, ”I will drive there myself, I don’t need Mr. Lawrence to give me a lift. Thank you for the offer, Mr. Lawrence.”

She shook off Baron Lawrence’s hand and headed to the Parking Lot.

——My skills are poor, that’s why I drove so fast just now, running a few red lights!

Clearly, he was just criticized, but for some reason, the heart that had been suffering for days now seemed to find salvation, feeling less painful.

That feeling was akin to finding a miracle cure for a terminal illness.

Like drinking a sip of water while walking in the desert.

An indescribable joy.

For once, he didn’t rush after her, quietly raising his hand that had just held the young woman’s wrist. Between his fingers, there seemed to linger Enna Clark’s scent, that soap-like fragrance, comforting just like her.

Fresh and natural.

He subtly curved his lips, like an immature kid seeking attention by bullying girls during school days. Just like Daoming Si in Meteor Garden.

But upon closer look, he returned to being the high-ranking President of the Lawrence Corporation.
