Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1825: Chapter 1815: Lying Exposed on the Spot

Enna Clark received three consecutive calls from the same person. Even if she wasn’t very smart, she was sure this call wasn’t accidentally dialed by Baron Lawrence, but was intentionally made by him!

She gripped the phone tightly, her heart clenching for a moment, like she was nervous. But soon, she relaxed herself and called out, ”Baron Lawrence, it’s you, right? Why are you looking for me?”

”...” Only heavy breathing could be heard from the other end of the line.

She knew he was there!

But he wouldn’t say a single word to her!

Enna Clark pressed her lips tightly together, recalling the news she saw online, not knowing what else she could say.

Although she didn’t believe Baron Lawrence had anything with that young model, seeing his scandal in the news made her realize completely that they had already broken up.

”If there’s nothing, I’ll hang up now.” Enna Clark said softly.

The breathing on the other end noticeably grew heavier.

She bit her lip and hung up the phone.

The moment the call ended on the screen, Enna Clark couldn’t restrain a hint of melancholy that rose in her heart.

But before she could feel melancholic for long, her phone vibrated again.

The caller ID still showed Baron Lawrence!

Previously, he forcibly snatched her phone and changed the note ”Maniac” to ”Enna Clark’s Man,” and now seeing these words flashing on the screen, her heart tightened more and more.

At this moment.

Bobby, who had just put Gigi to sleep, came out holding his iPad, wearing his unique men’s slippers. He heard the phone ringing, glanced at her with a puzzled face, and said, ”Woman, your phone’s ringing, aren’t you going to answer it?”

Enna Clark snapped back to reality, somewhat flustered, picked up the phone and stammered to explain, ”A small loan company calling. I told them I don’t want to borrow money, but they keep calling me.”

”Oh——” Bobby glanced at her sideways, sitting on the couch. He hadn’t suspected anything before, but her unnecessary explanation made him suspicious, ”Enna Clark, didn’t Dubious Man buy you your phone? Your number should be hidden. How would advertisers have your phone number?”

Uh-oh.

Enna Clark realized she was caught.

How could she forget that Bobby was a little genius? If there was a single flaw in her lie, Bobby’s cleverness would surely catch it.

How did she forget this phone number was arranged by Baron Lawrence?

”Uh...” Enna Clark’s face went from red to blue, her brain spinning quickly, trying to find a reasonable explanation.

Before she could come up with a reasonable explanation, Bobby already let her off the hook, glanced at her and said, ”Uncle Westbrook called, right?”

Though his face was still unwilling, he said, ”You don’t have to avoid answering his calls because of me. I’ve already said, I just can’t call him Dad temporarily. As for the rest, I don’t mind.”

The last few words sounded very unwilling.

His expression indeed conveyed awkwardness and unwillingness.

”Woman, hurry and answer.” He was afraid he’d regret it, furrowing his little brows, impatiently urging her.

If she didn’t answer soon, he’d change his mind again.

Enna Clark didn’t expect his imagination to lead to Lyle Westbrook, but since she finally found a way out, she wouldn’t dare tell Bobby the call was from the ”Dubious Man” he mentioned, or else with Bobby’s knack for causing a fuss, something unexpected would surely happen again.
