Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1345: Chapter 1345: Slap in the Face 2 Chapter 1345: Chapter 1345: Slap in the Face 2 Just as she reached the corridor, a voice called out to her, “Enna.”

The voice was…

Enna Clark turned her head and, sure enough, saw Kingston Howard standing there, dressed in a British Style plaid vest with a shirt. She didn’t know how long he had been standing there.

In fact, from the moment she came downstairs, Kingston had been standing there waiting. He had seen the entire confrontation between her and Luna.

So his gaze at Enna became even more complex, as if he were seeing her for the first time.

Enna waited a long while until he finally said, “Actually, Luna… she’s not bad.”

“So what?” Enna took a deep breath and asked him in return.

His gaze faltered under her stare, and he continued, “Her work capability is also quite good. This time, it was because… because of me. I just wanted to tell you that she’s not a bad person, don’t dislike her.”

Enna had thought he came to ask her to plead with Baron Lawrence on someone’s behalf. She was startled for a moment, then calmed down and looked into his eyes, “I know she’s not bad, but to me, she’s not good either.”

Luna had been spreading rumors about her behind her back. If she had truly been just a newcomer to the company, the rumors could have become worse, and she might have been forced to resign.

So, whether Luna was bad or not, Enna didn’t know. At least, in the few days she had known of her, Luna had not been a friendly colleague.

Kingston seemed to have anticipated her response and forced a smile. Suddenly changing the subject, he said, “I never knew you were the person reported in the news. I always thought it was just a coincidence of the same last name. I heard you’re getting married soon, congratulations.”

He had not expected that the first woman he pursued would turn out to be the future President’s wife.

He was self-aware; he simply could not compare with President Lawrence. So upon learning that she was the fabled President’s wife, Kingston retracted those feelings that hadn’t even had the chance to surface.

“Thank you.”

Kingston took one final, deep look at her, as if to crush the last bit of sentiment in his heart, his face brightening with the warm smile of their first meeting, “No need to thank me. You go ahead with your work; I won’t bother you anymore.”

“Alright. Goodbye.”

Kingston watched her retreating figure and said goodbye in his heart.

Then, as the elevator doors closed, he breathed a sigh of relief, adjusted his emotions, and headed to the director’s office.

There was a meeting later that he needed to prepare for.

…

Because of the small incident in the Planning Department, Enna Clark was delayed a bit.

By the time she arrived, a certain someone was already growing impatient.

No sooner had she come in than her wrist was seized and she was pulled into the range of the President’s office, followed by a disdainful interrogation, “Enna Clark, are you a snail?”

“It takes time to pack things up.”

Baron Lawrence snatched away the cardboard box she was holding and glanced inside, frowning deeply, “Just these few things, and you actually took 3 minutes. If you’re not a snail, what are you!”

“…” Enna didn’t dare tell him that she had also run into Kingston Howard on the way and had exchanged a few words.

Luckily, Baron Lawrence didn’t dwell on the matter and helped her take things out, arranging them on the desk.

After the arrangement, perhaps finding it too sparse, he went back to his own office and brought an exquisite golden globe from his desk to place on hers.
