Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1224: Chapter 1224: Splash Her Awake for Me! Chapter 1224: Chapter 1224: Splash Her Awake for Me! Enna Clark had no idea that Baron Lawrence had already learned about her risky adventure. Her nerves were stretched tight, and her full attention was focused on the person who had entered.

Since she was still in a ‘comatose’ state, she couldn’t see the appearance or number of people who had come in.

Her only option was to rely on her ears to pick up the sounds inside the room.

“Your Highness,” a Female Officer brought in a chair.

Scarlett looked at it with disgust, but after scanning the room, she realized that chair was the cleanest and best item available.

She reluctantly sat down, her beautiful eyes settling on the person curled up on the ground.

Enna’s looks weren’t the type to amaze at first glance but the kind that grew on you the more you looked. Moreover, her fair and delicate skin made her appearance even more comfortable to look at.

At that moment, Enna’s eyes were tightly closed, with blood still flowing from a bumped spot on her forehead. Her oval face was pale and fragile-looking, and she appeared extremely pitiful.

Seeing her in such a sorry state, Scarlett felt her mood lift. Even the smile on her face turned sweeter as she softly ordered someone beside her, “Bring over a bucket of water.”

“Yes, yes, Boss.” Brother South hadn’t expected their behind-the-scenes Boss to be such a big shot. Eager to please Scarlett, he fawningly scampered off to fetch water, as if afraid someone might compete with him for the task.

Sure enough, he quickly brought back a full bucket of cold water.

Scarlett’s beautiful eyes remained sweet and adorable, but the words she uttered did not match her appearance at all, “Throw it on her face!”

Except for the Female Officer who was following her, everyone else hesitated for a moment when they heard her command.

In that instant, the pleasant smile disappeared from Scarlett’s pretty face, and she urged imperiously, “Deaf, are you? I told you to splash the water on her face!”

She knew that Enna had been knocked out with Ether and had no intention of waiting for her to wake up slowly. Since she did not want to wait, she had to use another method.

It wasn’t that she wanted to splash Enna with water, but since the woman wouldn’t wake up, she was innocent in this.

The man holding the bucket, considering her status and thinking about his own financial future, hesitated no longer. He lifted the bucket and sloshed the entire content onto the ‘comatose’ person on the ground—

The water in the factory came from a deep underground well, and it was particularly cold, nearly indistinguishable from ice water.

Although Enna had heard their conversation and had mentally prepared herself,

when an entire bucket of ice water was dumped on her, she felt so cold her bones nearly froze. Worse, since she already had a cut on her forehead, the ice water hit the wound and caused a sharp, piercing pain.

It hurt so badly…

This time, Enna truly couldn’t hold back a muffled groan, and then she slowly opened her eyes.

She wasn’t actually just coming out of unconsciousness, so her consciousness quickly returned. Her clear eyes swept over the people in the room, and she instantly spotted the only person sitting on a chair—Scarlett!

Scarlett was wearing a peach-colored Pulery haute couture dress, looking exceptionally beautiful and eye-catching, just like the first time Enna had seen her.

In the small, dilapidated room, apart from Scarlett, there was one other woman, standing next to her.

Enna had seen her before; she seemed to be the Female Officer who always accompanied Scarlett.

Besides the Female Officer, there were two portly men, one with a face full of flesh—a Boss she had seen once before in the abandoned factory.
