Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1208: Chapter 1208: Not Let Go, But Already Paid the Price Chapter 1208: Chapter 1208: Not Let Go, But Already Paid the Price She was tired and hungry, and couldn’t take it anymore. She requested to see Princess Scarlett, but the other party mocked her, asking who she thought she was, and how could Princess Scarlett possibly meet with someone like her.

After saying that, they beat her ruthlessly.

She was forced to continue working.

If it hadn’t been for Enna Clark and her mother coming to her rescue, she might have collapsed from exhaustion within ten days.

“Are you saying it was Scarlett who told you to lead the bodyguards away?” Enna Clark couldn’t believe the results of her investigation were this.

The waitress asserted with certainty, “It was Princess Scarlett! I’m not lying to you, it really was her. I also know that your parents were chased in there by her people.”

“The people who were watching over me accidentally let it slip, they said it themselves.”

The waitress was agitated.

After speaking, she realized that she had raised her voice too much. She deflated, moved her lips, and said, “I’m sorry, Ms. Clark. I really didn’t know that Princess Scarlett had me lead those security guards away to set you up. I…”

She felt that her explanation was too weak.

If it hadn’t been for what she had gone through in these last few days, she wouldn’t have been sure if she would have helped, even knowing Scarlett’s plan.

After all, at that time, she hadn’t seen through the dirty heart behind the noble façade of the fourth in line for the royal succession.

Nor did she know Enna Clark.

Therefore, she was unclear about what choice she would have made.

But now she truly regretted it.

“I know I did something wrong. You can do whatever you want to me, Ms. Clark, but please don’t tell my mother what I did, I’m afraid she can’t bear it.”

Ms. Clark was none other than the First Young Lady of the Habsden Family, and she knew that offending a socialite from such a super rich family would not lead to a good outcome.

To the super rich, someone like her was no different than an ant on the sidewalk; if they wanted to make her life impossible, it was just a matter of a few words.

Enna Clark looked at her, who was ashamed, scared, and trying to restrain herself, and said with clear and calm eyes, “I’m not going to do anything to you. You said yourself, you didn’t know at the beginning. But after this incident, your job is definitely gone.”

The waitress didn’t expect her to let her off and was momentarily bright-eyed, not even taking in the part about losing her job, “Really? Thank you, Ms. Clark, thank you. And, I’m sorry… really, I’m sorry…”

Enna Clark was no Virgin Mary who could forgive anything with just an apology. But she wasn’t someone who would be unrelenting when she had the upper hand either. The waitress had hurt her, but as she said herself, she had been deceived by Scarlett and didn’t know at first.

And she had paid the price for her actions. Locked up for days by Scarlett’s people, she was left battered, and on top of that, she lost her job.

So, she decided not to pursue it any further.

After all, the waitress had only led the security away unknowingly; she couldn’t possibly destroy the other person’s life over this, breaking arms and legs before considering it even.

Jobs at seven-star hotels are hard to come by, and with the criminal record from this incident, it’s unlikely anyone in the hotel industry would dare to hire her. That was a heavy price paid.

Enna Clark stood up, “Get some rest, plain rice porridge will be sent over in a bit.”

The waitress’s eyes reddened, unable to utter either thanks or apologies, her eyes filled with guilt and regret. She remained silent, watching Enna Clark leave.
