Star Martial Era: The Way of Star Light Cultivation

Chapter 198: Chapter 117 Refining God Golden Pill and Reaching the Summit First (Second Release, Subscription Request)_2

For this reason, the major Star Halls and the National Taoist Institute often use these Sky-reaching Stone Steps to hone their disciples’ Divine Soul Power, thereby strengthening it.

But it is said that even the major Star Halls need to pay a price to the actual Star-picking Tower to use these Heavenly Ascending Stairs, so the opportunities are extremely precious.

I have ascended them myself in the past and later honed my Divine Soul Power.

Although this time it’s for the autumn exam, you must cherish it because it also has the effect of improving Divine Soul Power. You must not waste it.”

At this point, Ning Yuchan paused briefly, sweeping her gaze over the crowd and said, ”Among you, Xu Jin, having taken the Mental-locking Golden Pill, will ascend a few more tiers than the rest of you. But for the others, just do your best.

Reach your own limit, then simply sit and endure as long as you can.

Do not act rashly. If you fall from the Star-picking Tower’s Heavenly Ascending Stairs, your Divine Soul will be damaged.”

Within the Taoist Institute, the matter of successful Great Gathering Star Pattern engravings had already been announced.

Lu Xianbing was the second to succeed in engraving the Great Gathering Star Pattern, taking twenty-eight days; Yue Daqi was the third, taking thirty-one days; Luo Geng, Yu Guan, Ren Xiaoxiang - the time they took to engrave the Great Gathering Star Pattern was all around thirty-two days.

Mountain Master Dong Zhao also concealed the true number of days Xu Jin took to engrave the Great Gathering Star Pattern.

It was only announced that Xu Jin took twenty-six days to successfully engrave the Great Gathering Star Pattern, and the first-place prize of the Mental-locking Golden Pill was naturally awarded to Xu Jin.

Thus, it also conveniently explained the sudden rapid improvement in Xu Jin’s combat power, and no one had any doubts.

It was not until Ning Yuchan mentioned the Mental-locking Golden Pill that Xu Jin remembered the pill.

Since receiving the pill on July 22, Xu Jin had placed the Mental-locking Golden Pill within the Star Lamp for nourishment.

The last time he checked, it was still Second Essence.

To reach Third Essence, it required at least thirteen days.

Calculating the days, the Mental-locking Golden Pill should be at Third Essence today, and after today, he could take the pill that had reached Third Essence.

Xu Jin was somewhat expectant, what kind of improvement could the Mental-locking Golden Pill at Third Essence bring him?

As for this challenge of ascending the heavenly stairs, Xu Jin saw the rules and had no worries at all.

He was certain to be among the top three.

First place should also be his unless someone else had also accomplished Star Casting of the Divine Soul.

However, Xu Jin had already planned ahead.

In this challenge, he would not show off too much.

Just barely securing first place would be fine.

The first-place reward of the Refining God Golden Pill was surely his.

This was an even rarer and lesser-seen elixir than the Mental-locking Golden Pill.

After the rules information flickered in the sky for several dozens of breaths, the instructors from the various Taoist Institutes had essentially finished explaining the matters of attention to the trialist disciples.

Then, Chief Instructor Yu Da stepped forward to the Martial Observation Platform and bowed, saying, ”Reporting to the State Preceptor, the rules information has been fully displayed.”

”Uh-huh, I know.”

State Preceptor Cheng Yuxiao nodded slightly and, without any visible movement, a jade Star-picking Order suddenly appeared before the State Preceptor’s chest. With a light sweep of his finger, the Autumn Examination Secret Realm suddenly roared to life.

It was like an earthquake, with the entire Secret Realm shaking violently.

In the midst of the shaking, a quaint shadow of the Sky-reaching Star Tower suddenly appeared in the Autumn Examination Secret Realm.

The Star Tower rose from the ground, towering into the heavens, piercing the clouds. Its top seemed to enter the expanse above the secret realm.

Even more astonishing was that although one looked down upon it, the feeling was one of looking up.

With this upward gaze came an indescribable sense of insignificance, as if one were an ant.

”This is the appearance of the Star-picking Tower, but it is still not the real body, just a projection in the present world. It is said that ascending the Star-picking Tower can lead one directly to the stars,” Ning Yuchan said, craning her neck and murmuring.

The next instant, amidst the shadow of the Star-picking Tower, the starlight tumbled and a set of Starlight Stone Steps attached to the tower emerged on the outside.

The stone steps reached high into the clouds, with no visible end, no knowing how many there were.

[Xu Jin, the fourth challenge of the autumn exam, Star Picking, has already begun. Please enter within ten breaths.]

Starlight Transmission appeared.

But Xu Jin did not immediately enter. Instead, he glanced at the Martial Observation Platform and saw that the upper echelons of the Star Hall had not yet appeared.

”Since they haven’t appeared yet, they probably won’t in this challenge,” Xu Jin decided in an instant, ready to enter.

Before entering, Xu Jin turned to Ning Yuchan and suddenly asked, ”Teacher, how many tiers did you ascend when you climbed these Heavenly Ascending Stairs?”

The other disciples, about to enter the realm, also looked at Ning Yuchan with curiosity, wanting to know.

”Stop the chatter and get into the realm!” Ning Yuchan waved her hand impatiently, urging the disciples to enter.

The disciples were disappointed, but they could only enter.

However, before Xu Jin took a step, Ning Yuchan’s voice rang in his ear, ”Xu Jin, when I ascended the Heavenly Stairs, I reached the one hundred eighty-second tier, ranking seventh. Don’t tell anyone else, lest it affect their confidence.”

Hearing this, Xu Jin turned to Ning Yuchan and made an OK gesture, which left Ning Yuchan somewhat confused.

What did a circle with three upright fingers mean?

Xu Jin, however, understood Ning Yuchan’s good intentions.

It must be that climbing to the one hundred eighty-second tier was a challenging feat, apparent from the seventh-place ranking.

If this was revealed to Wang Weisheng, Lu Xianbing, Yue Daqi, and others, it might affect their mentality and thereby their performance.

After all, ascending each additional step could greatly improve one’s ranking.

In the next instant, Xu Jin took a step forward.

At the same moment, in the Trialist area of the Dachen National Daoist School, the disciples’ demeanor was unbelievably relaxed.
