At the Martial Observation Platform, Lu Chenfeng’s face was overcast, his eyebrows knitting into the shape of the character ”川”!

”Miao Long falling so quickly in battle, eight out of the top ten elites dead, this shouldn’t be.”

Based on his earlier arrangements, they should have been able to form a battle team in the shortest time.

The death of two or three top ten elites was a possibility.

A matter of probability.

But eight dead, that was...

In the next instant, Lu Chenfeng seemed to think of something, his gaze swiftly searching the high-hanging leaderboard in the sky for the names of Yan State State Taoist Institute disciples.

Before this, Lu Chenfeng’s attention had been mainly focused on Miao Long and the top ten elites.

Because achieving political results mainly relied on them; others would be fine as long as they performed normally.

This search took Lu Chenfeng by surprise, shocking him greatly.

The Yan State State Daoist School had a total of four hundred and fifty qualified participants for the autumn exam, and he, as the Dean, remembered clearly, having seen every name.

But now, at this stage of the Wilderness Battlefield, the number of deaths had already surpassed one-third.

As high as 35%.

Lu Chenfeng then calculated the total number of disciple deaths in the entire Wilderness Battlefield based on the leaderboard.

So far, the total death toll was barely over nine hundred.

After the second round ended, the remaining disciples entering the third round totaled 3,900.

The overall death rate was just over 20%, about 23% or so.

In an instant, Lu Chenfeng realized something was amiss; the death rate of the Yan State State Daoist Institute was far higher than the overall rate.

”What has happened on the battlefield?”

As Lu Chenfeng frowned, he turned around unintentionally and suddenly noticed that all the Mountain Masters from the County Daoist Schools of Yan State had faces filled with worry and extreme anxiety.

Only Dong Zhao, the Mountain Master of Jinshan Daoist Institute, still had a faint smile on his face.

Lu Chenfeng didn’t bother with Dong Zhao; that guy was always like that, always making people uncomfortable.

But the performance of the other Mountain Masters...

Lu Chenfeng’s gaze swept over the leaderboard once again.

A few minutes later, Lu Chenfeng felt the urge to stand up and curse in anger.

Someone was deliberately targeting the disciples from Yan State.

He had quickly tallied the numbers just now; regardless of the state, the death rate for disciples originating from Yan State was at least 30%, and some had reached as high as 40%.

Someone was targeting him!

Lu Chenfeng immediately realized the crux of the matter.

In Da Chen National Daoist School, both the State Daoist Institute Deans and the County Daoist Institute Deans were under an evaluation system, which was also part of the autumn exam.

There were two main directions.

One was the number of disciples from one’s sect passing the autumn exam, and the other was the number of core disciples and true inheritors sent into the Daoist Institute.

The former was weighted more heavily.

Because cultivating a single exceptional genius was actually quite easy.

All it took was to pile resources on one with great talent and comprehension.

But getting more disciples to pass the exam was more difficult, and the National Daoist Institute even had a minimum requirement set.

Relatively speaking, the first part of the evaluation for him as the Dean of the State Daoist Institute was divided into two segments.

One was the number of his direct disciples from Yan State State Daoist Institute passing the exam, and the other was the passing standard of the disciples from his jurisdiction over the various County Daoist Institutes.

Previously, Lu Chenfeng suggested targeting the disciples from Jinshan Daoist Institute, also taking this into account.

However, Yan State had twelve counties, which meant twelve County Daoist Schools.

If the other counties had assessments that were average or above, then having one Jinshan Daoist Institute bringing in a low or failing grade wouldn’t affect his position as the Dean of the State Daoist Institute.

But what was deadly was if three or more subordinated Daoist Institutes received low or failing grades, it would have a significant impact on him as the Dean.

What was even worse was if the Yan State State Daoist Institute’s performance in passing standards was also poor, then the problem would be severe.

Additionally, considering the two reprimands he received this year.

His position as the sole authoritative Dean of the State Daoist Institute could be at stake!

In an instant, Lu Chenfeng became anxious.

He had to be, as it concerned his future.

He had originally thought that after being reprimanded this year, he just needed to keep things stable instead of being ambitious, but now he faced the potential issue of losing his current position.

This was a serious matter.

The position of Dean of the Yan State State Daoist Institute, in terms of authority and status, was almost similar to the Yan State governor, and his real power and status were even slightly higher.

This was because of the high-tier resources and military force under his control.

Such a coveted position, there were only seven like it in the entire Dachen.

One could imagine what Lu Chenfeng had to sacrifice to reach this position; his teacher Song Bing had contributed greatly.

If it were lost...

In an instant, Lu Chenfeng became frantic.

Truly frantic.

But at this time, regardless of his urgency, it was useless; no matter how impatient, Lu Chenfeng couldn’t fly into the Wilderness Battlefield to slaughter on behalf of his disciples.

He could only watch the changes on the leaderboard.

He had no idea until he looked, and the more he looked, the more alarmed he became.

Someone was definitely targeting the disciples from Yan State.

On the entire leaderboard, every ten deaths included at least two from Yan State.

This was extremely abnormal.

The total number of Yan State disciples only accounted for one-tenth of the total number of autumn exam disciples.

But the death rate!

”Who exactly is it!”

Lu Chenfeng was truly roaring inside, and if it weren’t for the State Preceptor and the Dean in front, he might have slammed the table and cursed.

To find the reason, Lu Chenfeng began to observe the entire battlefield with full concentration.

At this point, the battlefield had shrunk once again to an area of just ten miles in diameter. From above, he quickly found the source.

A disciple in red sleeves and collar, originating from Yan State, was frantically killing disciples also from Yan State.
