Star Martial Era: The Way of Star Light Cultivation

Chapter 166: Chapter 107 Special Training and the Beginning of the Autumn Exam (Please Subscribe)_4

”Xu Jin, the autumn exam you begin tomorrow. Just carry on normally, exhibit your true strength, and don’t conceal too much.

Genius still needs to reveal a bit of its edge,

Even if you reveal a bit of strength that defies common sense, others will attribute it to your talent.

Only when you display powerful talent will you gain more cultivation resources and status at the National Taoist Institute,” advised Qi Shanye.

However, Xu Jin sensed something amiss, ”Teacher, you’re telling me this because?”

”I’ll be away for a few days. I have a Star-picking Order, use it to contact me if anything comes up over the next few days,” said Qi Shanye.

Xu Jin wasn’t surprised at all that Qi Shanye had a Star-picking Order.

After all, the Star-picking Order’s public area isn’t restricted by identity.

”Great Sage Equalling Heaven, you lad, sure have the nerve.

Truly young at heart.”

Following that, Xu Jin also learned the title Qi Shanye held within the Star Tower.

It wasn’t a domineering or lofty title, nor one reminiscent of a lonely wanderer of the Martial World, but rather a name grounded to such extent that it took Xu Jin completely by surprise.

[Plow Boy]

Perhaps feeling uneasy under Xu Jin’s unexpected gaze, Qi Shanye explained, ”My original Star-picking Order was destroyed when Lingji Star Hall fell and had to be sealed. This is one I managed to get hold of later.

It’s convenient to use for occasional contact.”

Xu Jin understood.

This was Qi Shanye’s new alias.

Yet the choice of a new name might represent some sentiment of Qi Shanye’s.

Unlike the name Star Lord he took in his youth, which is generally more wild or even adolescent.

Like ’No Big Deal.’

”Then, I’m leaving tonight, keep an eye out for my message,” said Qi Shanye.

”Teacher, take care.”

”Don’t worry! I’m more cautious now than I’ve ever been before,” Qi Shanye laughed, and with that laugh, he completely vanished.

On the fourth day of August, Xu Jin arrived early at the Martial Arts Hall of Jinshan Taoist Institute; today was the day of the autumn exam.

Not only the brothers qualified for the autumn exam but also all other brothers gathered at the Martial Arts Hall.

Upon Xu Jin’s arrival, greetings of ”big brother” echoed all around, all of them salutations.

Even Wang Weisheng gave Xu Jin a hand salute and addressed him as ”big brother.”

Despite the inner reluctance, he had indeed lost that day.

And lost fair and square.

In the past half month, Wang Weisheng had not been idle, training hard every day, especially in the Star Tower, where he spent more than half of his savings to rigorously practice Star Skill, feeling a significant improvement.

The shame he suffered at the hands of Xu Jin, Wang Weisheng planned to reclaim it during the autumn exam.

As long as he ranked higher than Xu Jin in the autumn exam, he could regain his face.

Not long after, the four power elders of the Taoist Institute arrived at the Martial Arts Hall one after another.

”You all know about the autumn exam, it concerns your own future, your path ahead, and also the honor of the Taoist Institute. I hope you give it your all and achieve good results.

This time, the autumn exam will take place entirely within the Star Tower.

All disciples with Star-picking Orders can enter the Star Tower and watch the trialists in related secret realms of the Da Chen National Daoist School!” said Mountain Master Dong Zhao.

All disciples roared their agreement.

In an instant, Mountain Master Dong Zhao suddenly added, ”Those below the Sixth Layer of Dining Dawn, those without Star-picking Orders, or those who do not wish to watch, can leave now. I’m about to seal the Martial Arts Hall.”

At these words, many disciples showed signs of helplessness.

Who wouldn’t want to watch!

Unfortunately, the minimum requirement to watch was the Sixth Layer of Dining Dawn.

If you hadn’t reached the Sixth Layer of Dining Dawn, even if you obtained a Star-picking Order from the Foreign Affairs Hall, it wouldn’t be usable.

They could only leave reluctantly.

Those who left were mostly Outer Court disciples from this year’s spring Star-pointing Season and a few from the Middle Court.

Most Middle Court disciples had already reached the Sixth Layer of Dining Dawn.

They’d already got the news before and managed to obtain a Star-picking Order by all means necessary.

”Anyone else leaving?” Mountain Master Dong Zhao spoke again, and seeing no one moving, the Star Artifact Locking Star Ring he had carried with him during the battle on Thousand Leaf Island flew out from his chest.

In an instant, it hovered over the Martial Arts Hall, casting thousands of beams of starlight, enveloping the entire hall.

”Go on in, to the Star Tower, to the first Light Gate on your left inside the Da Chen National Daoist School, for the Autumn Examination Secret Realm.”

Following Dong Zhao’s instruction, Xu Jin holding the Star-picking Order stepped into the Star Tower and then into the Da Chen National Daoist School, gently pushed the first Light Gate on his left, and instantly information emerged.

[Xu Jin, you have entered the Da Chen National Daoist School’s Autumn Examination Secret Realm, identity verification in progress]

[Identity: Autumn Examination Trialist]
