Chapter 140: Chapter 140: The Tragedy of Obito

”Is that... also an Arrancar?”

”But we can’t even see its face!”

”Aizen’s followers even have kids like that?”

The tiny figure of Yūgetsu left the Allied Shinobi forces staring at each other in confusion and shock. Meanwhile, the Espada on the other side all sucked in their breath, full of surprise.

”She... she’s here...” Ginjo whispered, eyes wide.

”Looks like Lord Aizen is unhappy with us now.” Pakura hung her head, sounding disappointed.

”Oh man, this is bad.” Yakushi Kabuto shook his head a little and sighed, ”If she’s here, that means... Lord Aizen doesn’t want to keep playing around.”

”Playing around?” Tsunade froze, her expression filled with disbelief.

No matter how you looked at it, this was a brutal war. Yet to Aizen, it was just ”playing around”?

”Exactly.” Kabuto seemed to read her thoughts and nodded softly. ”In Lord Aizen’s eyes, this is just a game.”

Buzz.

Right after Kabuto finished speaking, Yūgetsu looked toward Aizen and slowly raised her right arm. A dark purple-black energy ball formed, then shot out as a straight beam.

Otsutsuki Hagoromo’s eyes suddenly narrowed. ”Hamura, get out of the way!” He grabbed his brother’s arm, and they both flickered away.

Boom!

The dark purple beam hit the barrier with a deafening explosion. A fierce shockwave spread out wildly.

Snap.

A crisp sound came from the air.

Everyone watched in shock and silence as cracks appeared all over the barrier protecting Aizen. The cracks spread quickly, covering the whole shield.

Crack.

In moments, the barrier shattered into tiny shards of light that faded into the air.

”How is this possible...” Otsutsuki Hagoromo’s eyes widened in disbelief.

This barrier was made using the power of the Six Paths combined with spiritual energy. How could that kid break it so easily?

”It’s... over!”

”Aizen actually broke free?”

Everyone in the Allied Shinobi Forces widened their eyes, filled with panic. Even Uchiha Madara and Senju Hashirama looked uneasy.

Damn it!

Otsutsuki Hagoromo gritted his teeth and rushed forward to restrain Aizen again. But before he could move, the air in front of him suddenly twisted.

Uchiha Obito, wearing an Arrancar uniform, kneeled behind Aizen respectfully and said, ”Lord Aizen, the Second and Seventh Tailed Beasts have been recovered.”

”Uchiha Obito?”

”That damn traitor from the ninja world sneaked in and attacked our rear base!”

”Damn, are we going to lose again this time?”

Everyone in the Allied Shinobi Forces looked deathly pale, glaring at Obito like they wanted to tear him apart. But Obito didn’t care. He took out two black cubes from his pocket and handed them to Aizen.

”Ah, then let’s get started.” As Aizen spoke, seven more cubes appeared out of nowhere around him.

Buzz, buzz, buzz.

The nine floating cubes spun fast from left to right. A blazing white light suddenly burst out, so bright it hurt people’s eyes.

After a moment, the light faded.

Everyone realized the nine black cubes were gone, replaced by a golden sphere.

Whoosh.

The sphere suddenly entered Obito’s body. A fierce power exploded from him. The energy formed a shockwave that wrapped around his whole body and was then absorbed by him.

At this moment, Obito’s appearance changed completely. The Divine Robe, the Rinnegan, the Truth-Seeking Balls... after a thousand years, the almost invincible Ten Tails Jinchuriki had returned to the ninja world.

Aizen didn’t look back but asked softly, ”Obito-kun, how does it feel to be the Ten Tails Jinchuriki?”

”Great.” Obito clenched his fist and said calmly, ”I feel like I have power beyond this world!” He raised his left hand holding a staff and lightly swiped it through the air.

Shhh.

An invisible energy wave shot out, hitting the distant mountains.

Boom!

With a deafening explosion, the whole mountain range turned into flat plains in an instant.

Hiss.

Everyone who saw this gasped. Is this really human power? Even gods in myths wouldn’t be stronger than this, right?

It’s over!

Tsunade looked pale and defeated. She thought maybe Aizen didn’t even need to fight—Obito alone could wipe out the entire Allied Shinobi Forces.

But then, in the next moment—

Obito suddenly raised his staff and stabbed directly at Aizen in front of him.

Bang.

A sharp sound rang out as the staff’s tip hit a transparent shield behind Aizen.

Obito froze, unbelieving, ”How could this be...?”

”I’ve known you were a spy since the day you entered the Pure Land, Obito-kun.”

Aizen still didn’t turn around. His soft voice said, ”Even though you could leave the Pure Land base without the black portal after becoming a Shinigami, the spiritual pressure wave you give off when using your powers can’t be hidden.”

”Then why did you return Rin’s soul to me and let me become the Ten Tails Jinchuriki?”

”Because I needed you as the Ten Tails Jinchuriki to be the fuel. Otherwise, Yūgetsu couldn’t truly complete the Arrancar transformation.”

Pfft.

Right after he finished speaking, a black hand suddenly stabbed through Obito’s back into his heart. A creepy laugh echoed, ”We meet again, Obito.”

”You’re... Black Zetsu?”

Obito turned his head in shock, seeing a small Arrancar’s body leaking a black, sticky creature inside. It was like a bridge connecting him to Yūgetsu herself.

”Shh, don’t speak.” Black Zetsu’s hoarse voice said, ”Now, enjoy the glory of Lord Aizen. The whole ninja world will bow at his feet.”
