’Hmm? What’s wrong? Why did you stop? Just out with it.’

”I can’t, I can’t! I can only say that you may not be able to do anything to them yet, but there is always a method.” Lindwurm hurriedly flew away so that he didn’t make any more mistakes.

Auric felt like catching him so that he could demand an explanation, but it didn’t seem he could do it with all these people in front of him.

Auric crossed his arms, contemplating.

Christina and the others were staring at Auric. He was someone who could treat Timothy’s symptoms as well as the incurable poison.

So, they didn’t dare to say anything in case his train of thought was broken and he couldn’t figure out the answer.

Auric let out a long sigh. ”May I see your battle techniques? If possible, show everything from Rank 1 all the way to Rank 6. I planned to ask Timothy the same thing, but back then, the situation was urgent, so I had no choice but to treat him immediately.”

Christina looked at Auric, observing his expression. Maya was the only one who knew Auric’s real goal. He definitely wanted to copy this absolute wind element.

This way, Auric would end up with three absolute elements in his body.

Christina nodded. ”Very well.”

She gracefully turned her body to the right and pointed her palm forward. ”Rank 1.”

A gust of wind flew from her palm toward a tree and shattered it. Even though she only used the power of a Rank 1, the destruction was actually quite similar to that of a Rank 2 battle technique.

As one would expect from a person with an absolute wind element. She was far stronger than normal people.

Christina continued. This time, she not only shattered the trunk that had allowed her to knock down the tree, but she actually crushed the entire trunk and every branch it had, leaving only broken pieces.

Then, she stepped up her game and unleashed her Rank 3 battle technique. This time, even the concrete ground developed a massive crack from her wind.

The moment she started using the Rank 4 battle technique, she destroyed a small hut not far from them.

The Rank 5 battle technique allowed her to destroy an even bigger building, while the Rank 6 battle technique could be spread to the entire city.

Auric learned a lot from watching her performance.

Christina looked at Auric, asking, ”What do you think? Do you think you can cure me?”

”Do you feel additional pain when releasing your power?”

”No. Everything is normal, or maybe I’ve gotten so used to this kind of pain that my sense of pain has grown dull. Even giving birth didn’t feel hard.” Christina shook her head.

Auric scratched the back of his head. ”If I have to be honest, I can’t treat you right now.”

”...” Christina looked at Auric with disappointment. ”I’ve expected something like this...”

”My power is not at your level yet. Even if I use everything I have, it won’t be enough to do anything. After all, I’m only Rank 2, while you are Rank 6. I can still somehow handle Timothy, but to help you, I will probably need to reach Rank 4 first.” Auric shook his head helplessly.

Christina raised her eyebrows. She was so disappointed that she actually missed the last two words Auric had spoken earlier. She heard only that he was saying he couldn’t treat her.

That was right. There was still a big gap between the two of them. Auric didn’t have the ability to handle it yet.

Christina asked, ”So, you need to reach Rank 4 first.”

”Yeah. At that time, I should be able to relieve the symptoms.” Auric nodded. He didn’t say anything about further treatment yet, considering he didn’t want to give false hope.

”I see.” Christina nodded in understanding. Considering Auric’s progress speed, he might be able to reach Rank 4 in one to one and a half years.

She had endured this kind of power for so long, so enduring it a bit longer should be fine.

Christina paused for a moment before smiling. ”Didn’t you find yourself troubled earlier whether you should call me sister or lady? How about coming to the UK? This sister is going to take care of you.”

Christina leaned forward while gently sliding her finger from his neck all the way to his chin.

Auric was startled. This was the first time someone with such stature was actually firing back at him.

Maya instinctively grabbed the back of his collar to put some distance between him and Christina.

”Lady Christina! This is too much!” Supervisor Jacob stood between them, trying to make sure that this witch didn’t entice Auric.

Mr. Green wanted to laugh. He also found it troublesome if Auric ended up leaving, but at the same time, Auric was kind of reaping what he sowed.

Christina said, ”Hahaha. I’m just joking. Look at how uptight this old man is. You will feel bored.”

Supervisor Jacob glared at her. ”There’s also the option of not treating you.”

”See? You’re not the doctor, but you are the one deciding this matter. This is what will happen to you in the future. In the eyes of the country, you will just become their pawn. They will squeeze you like a lemon and throw you away when they don’t need you anymore.”

”Stop your bullshit!”

”I wonder if that’s really bullshit. What has your country actually done for such a genius? I heard that you are still trying to figure out this organization that is trying to harm him. How many months has the investigation been ongoing? Also, when he was attacked, was it actually the magic item from your country? Judging by how panicked you were, it was definitely not from your country. So, what have you done?”

Auric was quite surprised. This ’grandma’ definitely knew how to argue with these guys.

Auric smiled. ”All right. That’s enough for now. As I explained, I will need more strength to handle it. That’s all.”

Seeing that Auric didn’t intend to continue that conversation, Supervisor Jacob felt a bit relieved.

Christina looked at Auric for a moment before saying, ”Well, you’ve also mentioned that something will happen in the survival competition, yes?”

”Most likely. From everything I’ve seen so far, I’ve come to believe that something will happen.” Auric nodded.

Christina crossed her arms, contemplating. ”What exactly do you need?”

Supervisor Jacob and Mr. Green looked at each other. There was already a warning, considering Chief Adjudicator Arnie had also contacted them.

”There’s not much I can say right now. For the time being, it will be safer if we form an alliance. At least, we will have twice the firepower to handle what’s going to come.”

Christina nodded. ”All right then. For now, I will just watch over the situation nearby. I’m not going to make a move unless there’s something big, such as a terrorist attack or a beast outbreak.”

”That will be perfect.” Auric agreed.

”Hopefully, I don’t have to see you again until the time you can treat me.”

Auric smiled. He also wished that these things didn’t happen, but it didn’t seem like things would go that smoothly.

Christina then waved her hand, enveloping Timothy with her power before flying away.

”Should we also go back?” Supervisor Jacob asked.

”Yes, we should. The survival competition will begin tomorrow. Has there been a report about anything that might happen?”

”Not really. However, Chief Adjudicator Arnie is already standing by not far from here. He’s not going to make contact with anyone else directly. If they’re going to do something, there will at least be some movement.” Supervisor Jacob looked up. ”Now that I think about it, you’ve been working with Chief Adjudicator Arnie, haven’t you?”

”Yes. I need to get rid of this problem as soon as possible.” Auric nodded.

”Well, for the time being, there is no big movement yet. If they make a big move, we will do our best to take care of it.”

”Understood.”

”Let’s go back!”

Mr. Green used his power to carry Auric since they didn’t want to waste too much time on the way back.

Supervisor Jacob suddenly remembered something. ”I suddenly remembered that you were planning to treat my injuries...”

Back then, Auric only told him that he couldn’t stop him if Supervisor Jacob chose to go to his store and become his patient. He would do his best to treat his patients.

After hearing what Auric told Christina, he couldn’t help but wonder the same thing. ”You can’t treat Lady Merlin, but you can actually treat me? We are both Rank 6.”

”!!!” Mr. Green widened his eyes in shock. That was right. If Auric was confident in treating Supervisor Jacob, he should have the ability to treat Christina as well.

As if he had expected this kind of question, Auric answered right away. ”The treatment is different. Right now, Lady Christina’s condition needs a treatment that erases the problem immediately. As such, I will require a huge amount of power to do it. Besides, releasing my power will give her a chance to examine my element.

”However, your injuries are different. The mess inside your body is an accumulation of energy caused by your injuries. When you touch a barrier, the energy from the barrier will flow into your body and stay there, right?

”Your injuries are quite similar. However, instead of coming from a barrier, it came from your enemies’ elements.

”So, the treatment is different. I needed to use a few elements to ease those injuries and gradually wipe them out from your body. Because it was gradual, I could treat you.

”Besides, since I’m going to use elements I have, there’s no need for me to worry about anyone figuring out my elements, including you.

”I can do the same thing for Lady Christina, but she will need daily treatment for at least one or two months. I don’t have time for that, not to mention that the condition will develop again in a few months.

”So, rather than doing it, it’s better if I focus my time on getting stronger. Even though having the famous Merlin as my bodyguard sounds quite interesting, it will create problems internationally. I don’t want to have anything to do with that.

”Also, I will need to use the energy from some materials and control it to break down the energy accumulated in your body at the same time. I haven’t managed to procure all of those materials, so I can’t treat you right now.

”It’s a shame, but even if I wanted to ease your injuries and let you recover your power as much as possible to face this messy problem, I just can’t do it. I have to use all my power as well, so every treatment will probably drain my energy. It’s not a condition I want in this place.” Auric shook his head helplessly.

”I see.” Supervisor Jacob nodded in understanding, feeling grateful for Auric’s consideration. He really needed to make sure Auric survived.
