Lust System: Harem Of Beautiful Women

Chapter 371: You Can’t Afford It

In the customer lounge area of the store, a sophisticated office lady sat there, looking at Nancy Wood with a similarly surprised expression.

She wore a very standard suit dress over a white blouse, which accentuated her slender and tall frame. Even seated, she appeared to be at least 175 cm tall, making her particularly striking.

Beneath the short skirt were a pair of long legs that rivaled any model’s, sheathed in black stockings and stepping into fashionable high heels, exuding an endless allure.

Truly deserving of being a campus belle who could stand shoulder to shoulder with Chloe and her fairy-like sister-in-law, her looks and figure were more than sufficient for a career as a model or a star.

”Oh, Deewa, what are you doing here?”

Nancy went over and proactively greeted her, appearing very enthusiastic and pleasantly surprised.

It must be said that women are scheming creatures. In Luis’s eyes, his sister-in-law was not a shrewd person, but her performance at this moment was utterly natural.

Deewa also revealed a seemingly very happy smile. ”I work here now. But what are you doing here with nothing better to do? Aren’t you a wealthy housewife now? Don’t tell me you’re here looking for a job too.”

”Just came to look around. I heard you’re in a management position at a nightclub. I was actually thinking, if I ever run out of money, I could ask you to show me the ropes and earn a little together.”

”Not at all, dealing in drinks doesn’t make much money. You can’t believe a word those gossips say in the group chats.”

”One day they’ll say you bought a used BMW, the next they’ll claim you paid in full for a Cayenne. I don’t recall your husband’s family being that wealthy.”

”It’s passable. At least being young is better than marrying some old man. My husband just knows how to live off his parents’ wealth, nothing can be done about it.”

These words were so loaded with barbs and implications that Luis felt they needed translation. The Chinese language was indeed profound and intricate.

Just then, Phillipa brought over two cups of coffee in delicate cups, smiling as she said, ”So you two know each other.”

Women were truly treacherous creatures. She clearly already knew the situation, having communicated with Blanche, yet she could still put on this act of surprise.

Natural born actresses. Luis lit a cigarette and watched with keen interest. This was practically three master thespians delivering a powerhouse performance on the same stage.

”Yes, classmates.”

Deewa glanced at the cups and said with a laugh, ”Nancy, if you’re just browsing casually, you might as well wait for the auto show to walk around then.”

”Phillipa here prepared this imported coffee to entertain major clients. If you don’t make your intentions clear, what if she starts feeling heartbroken over it later?”

These words were practically a slap in the face, implying ’you poor thing can’t afford it anyway.’ Luis couldn’t help but frown.

This immediately revealed the difference in their levels. Conflicts between women were always full of veiled sarcasm and indirect digs, only resorting to shrewish screaming matches if something caused a complete breakdown.

Deewa speaking so bluntly was practically no different from shouting insults. She probably just wasn’t capable of that subtle, cutting sarcasm. Her eloquence truly wasn’t up to par.

”All clients are valued, big or small, as long as they are willing to support my work.”

Phillipa, being a professional salesperson, said gracefully and confidently, ”Sister Wood, what type of car were you interested in seeing?”

Luis spoke up. ”We’re looking at models that are physically in stock. Don’t bother introducing any that require pre-orders.”

Deewa wore an expression of someone watching a joke, chiming in, ”These display cars that are in stock always come with a premium. Are you sure you want to look at those?”

Phillipa immediately smiled warmly. ”Please rest assured, it’s true that clients brought by others often have to pay extra. However, I am a senior employee here and do have a bit of authority.”

”Not only will there be no need for an extra premium, but I can also appropriately strive to secure the greatest possible discount for you.”

She didn’t even glance at Deewa, continuing, ”Sister Blanche’s friends are my friends. Even if you don’t find anything you like today, that’s perfectly fine. We can simply make a new connection.”

This was spoken with exceptional tact and grace. Deewa listened, slightly dumbfounded.

She certainly couldn’t detect that this was a mocking remark, ridiculing her for being a greenhorn who knew nothing and relied solely on her pretty face to attract a few lecherous old men for patronage.

In terms of seniority and experience, Phillipa could completely overpower her. The implication that anyone seeking out Deewa was an idiot—that was the very essence of veiled sarcasm.

Deewa seemed to remember something at that moment, pursing her lips as she said,

”I suggest you two just walk around and look on your own. Don’t waste Phillipa’s time. These luxury cars very rarely have immediate availability.”

”Just because you can’t afford it doesn’t mean I can’t.”

Nancy was also growing somewhat angry. With an impassive expression, she leaned against Luis and said with a faint smile, ”Besides, it’s not you we’re dealing with. Why are you worrying yourself over it?”

”Oh, that’s true. It’s not as if your budget is unlimited.”

Deewa gave a somewhat sly smirk, saying, ”There’s a G-Wagon right over there. Go ahead and take a look if you want.”

”A G-Wagon??”

Nancy’s eyes lit up upon hearing this. She walked over in the direction Deewa pointed.

For ordinary folks, luxury cars like Ferraris or Maybachs felt too distant. Even seeing one wouldn’t necessarily elicit surprise.

Among the million-dollar luxury cars in recent years, if there was one that had become the most popular, it undoubtedly had to be the G-Class. Calling it the vehicle of influencers wouldn’t be an exaggeration.

In the past, the image of a foreign woman driving a sports car was considered the pinnacle combination of a beautiful woman and a luxurious car.

But in the last couple of years, cute and cuddly micro-cars or the relatively pricey Beetle had fallen out of favor. The cars women now flocked to were unconventional models like the G-Class.

Especially for a tall, commanding beauty with a mature, young-married-woman style—a stunning figure dressed sexily and boldly—it felt like an even more perfect match with the rugged, imposing G-Wagon.

Nancy walked over, looking the vehicle up and down, her eyes unable to conceal her liking.

Back when she chose that Cayenne, it was somewhat influenced by this kind of style. In reality, what she loved and yearned for most was the even more prestigious G-Class.

”G500, the highest version, top-tier 4.0 configuration. The drive-away price is 243,000.”

Deewa also walked over, reciting the details as if listing treasures. ”The cheaper models aren’t in stock. This specific variant is available right now. But you should just look. Better not touch it either, so we don’t have to clean up after you.”

”Hmph, it’s just that much money. As if anyone couldn’t afford it.”

Nancy was instantly displeased upon hearing this; she wasn’t known for having a mild temper.

Phillipa quickly hurried over, saying, ”Sister Wood, this particular model has already been reserved by someone. Please don’t listen to her nonsense here. Let me show you some other options.”

”Many joint-venture sedans are also quite good, offering particularly high value for their price point...”

Nancy hesitated slightly upon hearing the price. She had always heard the G-Class was around a million plus, never expecting the top-tier version to literally double that figure.

Right at that moment, Luis reached from behind and took her hand, interlocking their fingers fully. He smiled with utter composure. ”Excellent taste. This model suits you perfectly.”

The warmth from his palm was the best encouragement. The unease in Nancy’s heart instantly dissipated like mist. She looked at Deewa challengingly and said, ”I’ve genuinely taken a liking to this model. And you don’t even have it readily available.”

”Looks like your standing here isn’t all that impressive either.”

Deewa’s tone was equally unfriendly. ”Anyway, you can’t afford it. What’s wrong with letting you broaden your horizons a little?”

The store’s General Manager, Leon, had already begun to sense that something was amiss.

After all, it was unusual for two sales staff to be gathered together introducing a client.

Moreover, Phillipa and Deewa were at odds. On normal days when they crossed paths, their faces would darken and they wouldn’t speak. For these two to be huddled together now was just asking for trouble.
