Chapter 770 Diplomatic Incident

”Youʼre violating the independence act of the Array of Stars!” the second referee shouted. ”I hereby declare this a violation of established diplomatic rules!”

Then, the second referee waved his hand towards the members of Explosive Karma.

All of them felt an irresistible push that threw them towards their territories at incredible speeds.

”Run!” the second referee transmitted to the members of Explosive Karma.

Star Genesisʼ eyes widened.

The second referee had broken the royal rules established by the Contrast Empire!

When the first referee saw what the second referee had done, his eyes narrowed in hatred.

”I hereby declare you a wanted criminal of the Contrast Empire!” the first referee shouted as he took out a humongous bow.

”And I declare you an idiot!” the second referee shouted as he took out a small grey scepter.

Both of them activated their Momentum, and before anyone else could react, the two of them already entered battle.

Explosions and arrows covered the surrounding space as the two Sages entered a True Battle.

The members of Explosive Karma rapidly retreated.

At that moment, the members of Dawnlight finally managed to regain their bearings.

The five Fulfilled Crushers in their team gave chase, their speeds much higher than the speed of Explosive Karmaʼs members.

The Secondary Sector only had very few Teleportation Formation Arrays. Only Sages and stronger could create Teleportation Formation Arrays. The few Teleportation Formation Arrays that were established all led to Planets outside the Secondary Sector, and they were not under the control of any Organization inside the Secondary Sector.

This meant that Explosive Karma couldnʼt just go to a random Planet and forcefully activate any of the Teleportation Formation Arrays.

They had to buy tickets, wait for enough people to arrive, and follow the rules.

It was better just to run.

The push of the second referee had given them a head start, but the members of Dawnlight would catch up in an instant.

Meanwhile, the battle between the two Sages neared its end. Battles between powerful Seekers rarely took longer than a couple of seconds due to their speeds.

The two of them seemed to have equal levels of power.

But then, the space around them started to expand, and their speeds dropped by over 95%. In order to move one meter, they had to move twenty meters.

Both of them realized what was going on.

A Spirit Lord had arrived.

Naturally, both of them had already informed their respective Organizations about the conflict.

The Spirit Lord had to be from one of the two Organizations.

A moment later, a new person appeared. It was a beautiful woman with silver hair…

And she wore the uniform of the Contrast Empire.

”Heʼs a criminal!” the first referee transmitted to the Spirit Lord.

The Spirit Lord looked at the second referee, and her eyes narrowed.

It was her duty to kill any criminal she came across.

Since she was a powerful Spirit Lord, she outranked the first referee and could revoke the status of criminal from the second referee.

But why would she do that? They were at war with the Array of Stars, and she wouldnʼt be punished for fulfilling her duties. If this turned into a big scandal, she wouldnʼt be the victim. It would be the first referee.

Space around the second referee started to break into pieces as the Spirit Lord activated the power of her Domain.

CRACK!

The next moment, a terrifying storm of bright yellow fire surrounded the second referee. The storm tore space apart, destroying the Spirit Lordʼs Domain.

At the same time, another person appeared, and this one wore the uniform of the Array of Stars.

The second referee was forcefully pulled behind the new person, who was a beautiful woman with blonde hair.

The first referee and the Spirit Lord took deep breaths as they saw the newcomer.

An Ascendant!

The first referee and the Spirit Lord became terrified. If the Ascendant decided to kill them, they would be helpless! She could most likely also deal with the following fallout.

Naturally, the Ascendant had entertained that idea. She could get rid of two powerful members of the Contrast Empire.

However, her status gave her a much grander viewpoint of the world.

While this entire thing was just a minor diplomatic incident between the two superpowers, it would slightly worsen their diplomatic relations.

The two Organizations were only warring in secret. Officially, they were still in a cooperation.

If this turned into an actual war, the Array of Stars would suffer more than the Contrast Empire. The Array of Stars wasnʼt weaker than the Contrast Empire, but the different way in which the two Organizations were structured just made a war between them worse for the Array of Stars.

The Array of Stars had a lot of freedom, and since it didnʼt declare itself as a political power, it had an easier time traveling through the territories of several political parties.

It was not a big deal for a group of mercenaries to travel through a country, but if a group of soldiers from another country entered, it would cause a humongous incident.

A war would force the Array of Stars to become a political party, which would cripple them.

However, if the Contrast Empire declared war on the Array of Stars, it would also suffer. Right now, the battles were small and rare, allowing the Contrast Empire to retain its power.

If a war broke out, the Array of Stars would actually strike with all their power, and even if the Contrast Empire managed to win, many of their powerful members would have died, making them an easy target for other Peak Organizations.

No side wanted a war.

But incidents like this also couldnʼt just be ignored. If fairness were swept under the rug, their members would not trust them anymore to protect them.

”Iʼm offering a conference,” the Ascendant announced.

When the two members from the Contrast Empire heard that, they sighed in relief.

”We accept,” the Spirit Lord said.

A conference, in this context, represented an official meeting between both parties, led by the local representatives.

The primary places of operations of the two powers were in the Immortal Dimension, and this incident wasnʼt big enough to bother them.

The local representative of the Array of Stars was the Chief Overseer, while the local representative of the Contrast Empire was the Countess Kyle had seen during his battle against Star Genesis.

The two of them would meet and come to an agreement on how to deal with the matter.

Most likely, nothing would happen. The first referee had a right to call for an investigation, but the second referee was also right that the investigation was obviously very targeted.

In the end, an investigation would take place, and Explosive Karma would be declared innocent.

That would be it.

No members of either side had died during the diplomatic incident, which meant there would be no reparations.

The four powerful Seekers left the Secondary Sector as soon as the conference was accepted. Until their superiors made a decision, they were not allowed to get involved with anything concerning this incident.

Yet, while the diplomatic incident was basically dealt with…

Dawnlight reached Explosive Karma.
