Chapter 762 - Swamp Dragonʼs Battle

When Explosive Karma saw that their Ancestor was here, they also felt some relief.

For some reason, they felt like everything would be alright as long as he was present.

The mysterious aura and power of their Ancestor felt calming and reassuring.

Kyle noticed the change immediately, but he didnʼt really comment.

The reason he didnʼt comment was that Explosive Karma wouldnʼt continue existing after today.

For Explosive Karma as an Organization, it didnʼt matter how the fights went, or more precisely, how Kyleʼs fight went.

Since Kyle would be fighting with his full power, the enemy would see his capabilities, including his Imposing Law. Obviously, someone as talented as the enemy Kyle would soon fight would be able to recognize an Imposing Law for what it was.

It would be clear that Kyle must have been from a Peak Organization, which meant there were probably also others. Dawnlight would quickly arrive to get rid of the members.

If Kyle won, the same thing would happen.

In both cases, Dawnlight would soon arrive to get rid of Explosive Karma.

Naturally, Kyle still felt a bit bad about this entire development. In a way, Explosive Karma had been a momentary home he had built with his friends, and he didnʼt like that it would no longer exist after today.

Sure, the members of Explosive Karma would still be alive. Star Genesis would quickly call for the dissolution of Explosive Karma, and all the members would scatter into the wind.

ʼWe shouldnʼt have advanced so fast,ʼ Kyle thought. ʼBroken Spark was right in their decision. We shouldʼve just gone for the tribute. Then, I would have had a couple more centuries to grow stronger.ʼ

ʼAlthough,ʼ Kyle thought as he looked at his hand, ʼif things hadnʼt gone like this, I wouldnʼt have become this strong.ʼ

ʼDawnlightʼs threat was the reason I changed my plan. Without their attack, I wouldʼve just continued. I would have never fought a Divine Beast, and I wouldnʼt have integrated my Law of Meteor into my mind.ʼ

ʼMy Momentum also wouldnʼt be nearly as strong as it is right now.ʼ

Kyle thought back to the battle he had gone through.

It had been desperate.

Luckily, he had managed to fully condense his new Infused Complex Law, which had saved his life.

The power the Infused Law of Meteor granted him was… unexpected.

Kyle thought that it would just increase his thought speed, but there was actually more to it.

It also had an actual, tangible effect.

”You didnʼt miss much, ” Swamp Dragon transmitted. ”We have one loss and one victory.”

”Sounds pretty good,” Kyle answered.

Swamp Dragon looked at Kyle. ”How do you feel?”

Naturally, Swamp Dragon was referring to Kyleʼs Complex Mind Law.

”Pretty good,” Kyle answered, showing a slight smile. ”I still think Iʼm mostly the same. Itʼs just that some of my doubts have vanished.”

”Thatʼs good to hear,” Swamp Dragon answered.

”All in all,” Kyle transmitted, ”I think this is a good change.”

Kyle glanced over at the members of Dawnlight, who barely paid attention to his arrival.

There was no reason to pay attention to a dead man.

Kyle focused on one person in particular, his opponent.

Among the group stood a tall man with fiery-red hair. He was quite tall and muscular, and he carried a huge two-handed sword on his back.

The man noticed Kyle looking at him and looked back.

For just a moment, the two looked at each other.

Kyle still remembered how he had felt when he had heard about his future opponent.

Unsure and nervous.

Yet, as he looked at his opponent, his feelings changed.

ʼIʼm antsy,ʼ Kyle thought. ʼI want to finally fight this guy! I can feel his extreme power, but I also know one thing for certain.ʼ

ʼI can win!ʼ

ʼI have a real shot at winning, and if I actually win, my power will increase even more!ʼ

ʼHe represents a major hurdle on my path. If I can overcome this hurdle, I will be closer to my goal!ʼ

ʼNot sure if itʼs the Law of Meteor in my mind, but risking my life doesnʼt feel as ominous anymore.ʼ

ʼDo or donʼt! Thereʼs no in between!ʼ

ʼIf I die, I was never meant to reach supreme power, and if I win, Iʼm closer to my goal!ʼ

ʼFreedom!ʼ

ʼMaybe, itʼs a good thing that all of this happened.ʼ

ʼDanger is a crazy good motivator! I should be in danger more often!ʼ

”We are now going to reveal the winner of the third battle,” the first referee said.

The Formation Arrays were deactivated, and the winner was released.

Another victory for Dawnlight.

Holy Smite was dead.

The members of Explosive Karma sighed, while the members of Dawnlight gave their congratulations to the victor.

”Fourth battle, Heavy Light, step forward,” the referee spoke.

The next moment, a stalwart man wearing heavy armor stepped forward.

”I swear that I am still in the Compression Realm and that I havenʼt gone through more than four Compressions,” he said.

The oath for Advanced Crushers was a bit different. After all, a Sage could also say that they hadnʼt gone through more than four Compressions, assuming they had advanced as an Advanced Crusher.

Dawnlight had two Advanced Crushers who were extremely powerful, and this was one of them.

Explosive Karma suspected that Heavy Light was also a member of the Contrast Empire, but they couldnʼt be sure.

”Toxic Arrow, step forward,” the referee said.

Swamp Dragon stepped forward and swore the same oath as his opponent.

”Donʼt die on me,” Kyle transmitted.

”Iʼll try my best,” Swamp Dragon transmitted back.

The two combatants entered the arena, and moments later, the battle started.

Kyle looked at the arena for a while.

ʼI feel surprisingly calm,ʼ he thought. ʼI assumed that I would be more worried about Swamp Dragon.ʼ

ʼSwamp Dragon is inferior in almost everything compared to his opponent, except for his Momentum. Momentum is very useful in a battle, but it has a limit. It can destabilize your opponentʼs focus, but it canʼt stop them from attacking. Even the fearful and hasty strike of a child can kill a venomous spider.ʼ

ʼI trust Swamp Dragon. I believe that he can win.ʼ

Kyle closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

ʼAnd if he canʼt…ʼ

ʼActually, not sure about then. I mean, itʼs a fair duel. Both parties consented, right? Am I supposed to go crazy and kill everyone because they killed Swamp Dragon in a fair duel?ʼ

ʼFeels kinda unfair, but on the other hand, they killed my friend. Iʼm not a machine, you know?ʼ

ʼI know itʼs kinda unfair and hypocritical, but I would really love to kill the guy who killed Swamp Dragon.ʼ

Kyle looked back at the arena.

ʼThereʼs no point in making any plans.ʼ

ʼIʼll just do whatever feels right when the time comes.ʼ

ʼFor now, I just have to wait.ʼ

Slowly, an hour passed.

”We are now going to reveal the victor,” the referee said.
