Nine Dragons Saint Ancestor

Chapter 103: 103 Summon

Outside the Jade Pot Cave, atop the cliff platform.

On this giant gourd-shaped mid-mountain platform, three figures sat cross-legged - Mo Qing, Yin Huan, and Li Shan, the fourth elder of the Jade Pot Sect.

It’s worth mentioning that at this moment, next to these three, a translucent gourd about half a person tall had appeared, speckled with white dots on its surface.

”Hmm?”

At that moment, Mo Qing’s expression suddenly sharpened. In the flicker of her beautiful eyes, her gaze focused on the Jade Gourd, as if she had noticed something unexpected, but for the moment, she only uttered a sound of inquiry.

Hearing Mo Qing’s sound, Yin Huan, who had been closing his eyes in meditation, also came to his senses, following her gaze to the Jade Gourd, his face slightly changing.

”Tsk tsk, I didn’t expect that among the new initiates of the Outer Disciples this time, someone would actually make it to the third layer of the Jade Pot Cave. What a surprise!” Li Shan’s face showed a smile, seeming to be much clearer about the significance of the Jade Gourd than the other two.

However, as soon as Li Shan finished speaking, Yin Huan’s eyes shifted and he interjected: ”Elder Four, do you think it could be the Third Prince of the Empire who entered the third layer? I heard his relationship with the third layer’s guardian, Guan Hu, seems quite close!”

”Well, it’s not impossible, if Guan Hu really uses his personal bias, our sect’s rules of the Jade Pot Sect... Eh?”

Prompted by Yin Huan, Li Shan obviously recalled some information he knew, his face darkened after mentioning just a few words, followed by an exclamation of shock.

”This... how could this...”

Li Shan’s reaction also made Mo Qing and Yin Huan pay attention to the changes on the Jade Gourd, because just a moment ago, a white spot of light had moved into the third layer, and just in that brief moment, two more light spots entered the third layer of the Jade Pot Cave.

”Good lad, daring to disregard the rules of our sect so blatantly!”

Clearly sensing the details of those three light spots entering the third layer of the Jade Pot Cave, Li Shan’s expression turned even gloomier, and with a swift movement, he plunged into the Jade Pot Cave under the astonished eyes of Mo Qing and Yin Huan.

Seeing this, Mo Qing and Yin Huan exchanged looks, but from Li Shan’s reaction, they also guessed some clues, as no one would have a better understanding of this batch of new disciples than them.

”Heh heh, it seems Yun Xiao is truly a calf not fearing the tiger!” Yin Huan’s eyes held a strange light, and his words carried an unclear implication.

”Humph, I think it’s the Third Prince relying on his status, colluding with Guan Hu to bully others, and ultimately being breached by Yun Xiao, who then disregarded the sect rules to pursue into the third layer. What audacity!” Mo Qing had a favorable impression of Yun Xiao, and the undertones of the situation were not hard to speculate. Her words almost hit the nail on the head.

”Although that’s said, it’s still uncertain whether Elder Li Shan can make it in time. After all, Guan Hu possesses the Late Stage Meridian Gathering Realm cultivation!” Yin Huan’s eyes did not lose much of their unusual look, his thoughts towards the youth named Yun Xiao were quite complicated.

This time Mo Qing did not speak, as truly as Yin Huan mentioned, it will take some time to travel from the entrance of the Jade Pot Cave to the third layer, and within this time, could Yun Xiao withstand the now unrestrained Guan Hu and Xuan Zhi?

Even if Mo Qing looked favorably upon Yun Xiao, she would not believe that Yun Xiao genuinely defeated Guan Hu to enter the third layer; it was merely a breakthrough using some special methods.

Now that Guan Hu and Xuan Zhi had already torn their faces off, directly chasing into the third layer without regard for the Jade Pot Sect’s rules showed their full intent to kill Yun Xiao.

If Yun Xiao really got killed by Guan Hu and Xuan Zhi in the third layer of the Jade Pot Cave, perhaps Li Shan and those Sect Elders wouldn’t offend the Royal Family of the Xuanyue Empire for an Outer Disciple with no background and already deceased, would they?

Of course, Mo Qing only had a slight interest in Yun Xiao, if not for the strength and special methods displayed by Yun Xiao, why would she, a high and mighty Inner Sect genius of the Jade Pot Sect, care about the life or death of a new Outer Disciple.

Everything depends on that young lad’s fate.

...

Swoosh!

In the third layer of the Jade Pot Cave, a lean figure approached from afar, it was Yun Xiao who had cleverly entered here. However, at this moment, he did not know yet that Guan Hu and Xuan Zhi had insanely followed him from the second layer.

It seemed Yun Xiao had a rather generous nature, or perhaps he had great trust in the rules of the Jade Pot Sect, believing that even if Guan Hu and Xuan Zhi were fierce, they wouldn’t possibly disregard the Sect’s rules.

Therefore, after entering the third layer, all of Yun Xiao’s attention was focused on searching for Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures, or guarding against the formidable Vein Demons of the third layer.

”Hmm?”

However, when Yun Xiao was approaching a certain area on the third level of the Jade Pot Cave, sensing something with his whole heart and soul, he suddenly found that the palm of his right hand was emitting an extreme heat at this moment.

”Is it the Blood Moon Jade?”

Yun Xiao raised his right palm, and saw the blood-red crescent mark in his palm seemed to become even more rosy at this moment, and the blood-red color was almost dripping off.

A faint blood-red halo spread out in all directions, causing Yun Xiao to finally sense something deep in his heart. He then raised his head, staring at the empty top of the Jade Pot Cave.

”Is there something calling me up there?!”

Yun Xiao was somewhat puzzled by this strange sensation, but as soon as he muttered these words, he no longer doubted it, as the Blood Moon Jade and he had become one. The reaction from this mark could not be false.

Swoosh!

Just as Yun Xiao was concentrating on the top of the third level of the Jade Pot Cave trying to figure out what was going on, the hair on his body suddenly stood on end, and his body subconsciously dodged to the left. He had great confidence in his sixth sense.

It must be said that Yun Xiao’s dodge was extremely timely and rational. As he had just slightly moved, a black shadow struck furiously from behind, grazing past his body. It was indeed a close shave; a bit closer, and he would have been grievously injured.

”Green-eyed Bat?”

Startled and breaking out in a cold sweat, Yun Xiao stared at the fast-flying shadow. With his powerful Soul Power, he finally recognized what it was.

It was a bizarre all-black bat that had reached the Middle Level of the Third Rank. These Flying Beast Pulse Demons always like to move in the dark night. Except for its pair of green eyes, its black body was extremely difficult to distinguish in the darkness, making it truly hard to guard against.

However, what truly alarmed Yun Xiao was not the Third Rank Middle Level green-eyed bat, comparable to human Cultivators at the Middle Stage of Meridian Gathering Realm, but was because this type of green-eyed bat harbored an extremely potent paralyzing poison within its body.

As the former Long Xiao Battle God and a genuine Holy Rank Meridian Refining Master, although Yun Xiao was no longer as brave as he once was, his keen eyesight and experience were still there.

As a Meridian Gathering Realm Cultivator, Yun Xiao was obviously unable to fly. In battle against such Flying Beast Pulse Demons, he was undoubtedly at a disadvantage, and moreover, the green-eyed bat was ferociously vicious. Once entangled by it, it would be a great trouble.

”Screech!”

Perhaps because it was unexpected to miss in the darkness and also because the human before it was only a mere cultivator at the Early Stage of the Meridian Gathering Realm, the green-eyed bat was quite enraged. After letting out a strange screeching sound, it pounced towards Yun Xiao once again.

At this moment, Yun Xiao no longer cared why the Blood Moon Mark had reacted. This Third Rank Middle Level green-eyed bat was perhaps not much weaker than the previously encountered Guan Hu.

The green-eyed bat was incredibly fast, and in just a blink of an eye, it reached in front of Yun Xiao. The bat’s claws reaching for his eyes showed the ferocity of this highly poisonous Pulse Demon. If this claw had landed solidly, Yun Xiao would have been immediately blinded.

But was Yun Xiao a typical cultivator at the Early Stage of Meridian Gathering Realm? When speaking of combat experience, perhaps no one in the entire Hidden Dragon Continent could outperform him. And since he knew this was a green-eyed bat, he already had a countermeasure in mind.

From Yun Xiao’s previous understanding of the green-eyed bat, he knew that although this bat-type Pulse Demon also had a pair of lush green eyes, its eye function was quite different from other Pulse Demons and humans.

The green-eyed bat’s method of locking onto its prey was a special type of sound wave that was invisible to the naked eye. With these sound waves, even in pitch-black darkness, the green-eyed bat could precisely deliver a lethal strike, just like now.

Even though the third level of the Jade Pot Cave was not pitch dark but dim enough for ordinary human cultivators. If it were a typical Early Stage Meridian Gathering Realm cultivator, their eyes would probably be gone.

”Good timing!”

Seeing the green-eyed bat approaching swiftly, Yun Xiao was not slow to react. Watching as he activated the Ancient Dragon Taming Technique, a surge of Meridian Qi rose from his lower abdomen, and then he moved his throat, a deep roar already erupted from his mouth.

”Roar!”

Yun Xiao’s deep roar was not very harsh on the ears, but as this seemingly bland roar was emitted, the green-eyed bat seemed to be affected by some special energy, swaying like a drunkard, its figure becoming extremely unstable.

Fortunately, being a formidable Third Rank Middle Level Pulse Demon, at this moment it finally realized the danger. So, enduring that strange discomfort, it flapped its wings and soared into the air, instantly keeping a distance of several dozen feet from Yun Xiao.

”Indeed effective!”

Seeing this scene, a smile couldn’t help but appear on Yun Xiao’s face. What he had just used was a Sound Wave Meridian Technique. The purpose of this technique was to disrupt the bat-type Pulse Demon’s sound wave sensory, rendering it unable to lock onto its target, thereby achieving some unexpected results.

Indeed, Yun Xiao had gambled correctly at this moment. Even though he only had the power of the Early Stage of Meridian Gathering Realm, the green-eyed bat’s Demon Meridian Qi was not much higher. Compared to each other, the effect was not too bad.
