“The Void Clan suffered a 60% loss, and more than 30 Tier-5 Void Kings have perished…”

Hearing the report, Yu Zi Yu could not help but heave a sigh, a sense of helplessness washing over him. After all, the Angel Clan was a top-tier Force. Though they could not match him in terms of peak combat strength, their mid-to-high-tier Forces were formidable.

They had so many experts that even sheer numbers alone were enough to grind down their enemies.

Given that, such heavy losses were understandable.

As for the Treant Clan, after glancing over their report, Yu Zi Yu immediately grasped the situation.

Compared to the Void Clan, the Treant Clan had fared far better.

After all, the power possessed by Void Creatures generally came from absorbing their enemy’s firepower, while the Treant Clan, they inherently possessed resilience nearly on par with the Titan Clan. More importantly, they also possessed amazing regeneration, which bordered on the unbelievable.

Because of this, their casualties were significantly lower.

According to the data, the Treant Clan had only suffered 10-20% losses, and just one Tier-5 Ice Spirit Treant perished. Though several other Tier-5 Treants sustained severe injuries, they all survived.

More importantly, among the surviving Tier-5 Treants, quite a few were showing signs of breaking through.

They had devoured too much blood and flesh. Their bodies were saturated with vitality. And in the end, it became the nourishment for their growth.

“In this regard, my Treant Clan is even more ruthless than the Demon Clan,” remarked Yu Zi Yu

Yu Zi Yu was not exaggerating. The Demon Clan, when consuming flesh and blood, still had to worry about Inner Demons and murderous intent corroding their Souls.

Whereas for the Treant Clan, all things were mere nutrients.

Devouring was their nature—as natural as eating and drinking for Humans.

And if it was simply instinct, how could there be any side effects? Would anyone say eating and drinking was wrong?

With a mocking chuckle, Yu Zi Yu felt an uneasy weight settle in his heart.

For some reason, the Treant Clan was starting to terrify him. Not just their current strength, but their future—their true potential.

If things continued like this, the Treant Clan would one day become utterly monstrous. Perhaps, there would come a time, when all races would fear and dread the horrific beings emerging from the depths of the sky rifts.

Like reapers, they would descend upon the land, cyclically harvesting. With the ability to devour all races, the other races would be nothing more than nutrients to them.

As his thoughts spiraled, a complicated expression surfaced on Yu Zi Yu’s face.

[If that day truly came, wouldn’t I, the Ancestral Tree, become the Demon among Demons?]

With a bitter smile, Yu Zi Yu felt a growing headache.

This was never his intention.

Unfortunately, Some things were beyond his control.

Trees were originally sacred spirits of the world, drawing in boundless Spiritual Energy, nurturing life, and giving back to all races.

However, the Treant Clan had reversed this natural order—instead of nurturing the world, they devoured it to nourish themselves.

Perhaps, to the various races, the Treant Clan should never have existed.

However, to this world, the Treant Clan was its greatest guardian.

Such was fate.

Of course, this was merely one of Yu Zi Yu’s reflections.

Having evolved to this level, his perspective had long since transcended personal concerns.

His gaze now rested upon the world, upon the cosmos.

Only by thinking on such a scale, could he truly go further.

…

Seeing Yu Zi Yu finish reading the reports, the King of Knights took a step forward and added, “Among the Void Clan’s Eight Generals, aside from me and the Fallen Angel, the remaining six have sustained severe injuries. General Solitude, in particular, was nearly cleaved in half by an Angel… He has now fallen into a deep slumber.”

“I see…” murmuring softly, Yu Zi Yu issued his command, “Send the Eight Generals to the Realm of Void to recover. When I have time, I will personally tend to their wounds…”

“Understood, my Lord.” With a respectful response, the King of Knights slowly withdrew to the side.

Her Master’s time was precious, there was no room for unnecessary delays.

And sure enough, just as she stepped back, Thorns stepped forward, detailing the latest developments concerning the Treant Clan.

As the Lord of the Tree Realm, Thorns had always been the one secretly overseeing the Treant Clan.

However, she had not participated in this invasion of the Angel Clan.

Instead, she had sent her shadow—the Dragonblood Treant, a fearsome Tier-5 Transcendent.

And in this battle, the Dragonblood Treant had devoured over 20,000 Angels, successfully stepping into Late-Stage Tier-5 in one swift leap.

This outcome, even Yu Zi Yu had not anticipated, let alone Thorns herself.

“So you’re saying… the Treant Clan seems to thrive in battle?” Musing to himself, a subtle smile played at the corners of Yu Zi Yu’s lips.

“Not ‘seems like,’ but certainly.” With a bewitching smile, Thorns responded, “It’s not just the Dragonblood Treant. Every surviving Treant has grown stronger to some extent. Among them, the Nine Second-Generation Jianmu Treants… have undergone some rather peculiar transformations.”

As she finished speaking, Thorns waved her delicate jade arm, sending a ripple of blood-red energy spreading through the air.

And in the next moment, amid the ripples, a crimson-hued vision appeared.

In the image, nine towering Blood Jianmu Trees pierced through the clouds, their colossal forms akin to behemoths holding up the sky.

A dreadful aura permeated the Heavens and Earth.

Even through the vision, one could sense the ferocious killing intent surging forth.

“Well…?” Yu Zi Yu’s eyes couldn’t help but narrow slightly in intrigue.

“Ever since they returned to the Tree Realm, they’ve been like this. They seemed to be undergoing some kind of metamorphosis. If you get close enough, you can even hear their heartbeats—like rolling thunder, as though something is being nurtured within…”

Silently listening to Thorns’ explanation, Yu Zi Yu nodded slightly.

“I see.” Then, as if realizing something, a knowing smile danced upon his lips.

“Give the order—no one is to disturb them. The Second-Generation Jianmu Treants are at a critical juncture right now.”

“Understood, Master.” Acknowledging the command, Thorns quickly grasped the situation.

She reckoned that these Jianmu Treants, once lifeless as puppets, had devoured too many Angels.

The Angels, being a higher race, possessed unparalleled spirituality.

By consuming vast numbers of Angels, these Second-Generation Jianmu Treants had likely awakened a power dormant within their bloodline.
