Race: Mutant Hedgehog

Rank: Tier-1 Transcendent.

Innate Talent: Razor-Sharp Armor – Its body is covered in razor-sharp quills, which can be soft as feathers and hard as metal. It’s one of the most terrifying weapons.

Unique Abilities: Quill Fire – It instantly shoots its quills within a range of dozens of meters using Spiritual Energy.

Spike Defense – It contracts its sharp quills to resist most attacks and even counterattack.

Quill Storm – It fires its quills like a rain of arrows, accurately striking distant enemies.

Quill Regeneration – It can regrow its quills at a terrifying speed with sufficient Spiritual Energy, potentially keeping up with their consumption rate.

Innate Source Quill – It can nurture a quill with its essence blood and Spiritual Energy, called Source Quill. The Source Quill possesses hardness and sharpness tens of times more than ordinary quills. Once it’s fired, it will surely tear the enemy apart. (Caution: Once the Source Quill is fired, the Transcendent Hedgehog will also be severely injured, it might even put its life in danger.)

Staring deeply at the three-meter-tall Transcendent Hedgehog not far away, Yu Zi Yu was amused. He had not expected it to have such an ace up its sleeve.

“Innate Source Quill, huh!?” Muttering to himself, Yu Zi Yu raised his gaze slightly and examined the Transcendent Hedgehog.

[Indeed, one needs to have some tricks up their sleeve in order to become a Tier-1 Transcendent. At the very least, with the Innate Source Quill, it would be quite challenging for Sarcosuchus to withstand its Source Quill. While it might not be able to kill Sarcosuchus in one strike, it should inflict significant damage to him.]

Thinking about it, Yu Zi Yu could not help but wonder why this little guy had not used this trump card before.

After a moment, an aggrieved young girl-like voice echoed in the air, “There are so many of you.”

“Uh…” Yu Zi Yu was slightly taken aback before he realized the reason behind the aggrieved voice.

In the face of North Canyon’s large force, the Transcendent Hedgehog could not use its Innate Source Quill. If it did, it would seriously injure itself, leaving itself with no chance of turning the tide.

“Alright.” Yu Zi Yu loosened the roots binding this little one before instructing it to go to a certain corner.

At this moment, he looked around North Canyon.

*Ha…* The next moment, a heavy sigh escaped his lips as his face turned serious.

[It’s time to guide the arrival of Spiritual Energy Tide to North Canyon in advance. A step ahead of others would prove to be a huge opportunity. Bringing the Spiritual Energy Tide to North Canyon in advance would increase the concentration of colorful Spiritual Energy. This would benefit Mutant Beasts in the area.]

With this in mind, Yu Zi Yu suddenly shouted, “Let’s get it over with…”

Instantly, his Spiritual Energy started surging.

The entire North Canyon started shaking wildly, as if it was experiencing an earthquake.

At the same time…

*Boom, boom, boom…*

Deep underground, hundreds of meters below the surface, countless roots surged like Earth Dragons, constantly moving around, bringing streams of colorful Spiritual Energy. In no time, much to the bewilderment of countless Mutant Beasts in North Canyon, the surface of the entire North Canyon began to bulge.

After a while…

*Boom Boom Boom…* One after another, roots tore through the surface, reaching for the sky. And accompanying these roots was vast and incredibly rich colorful Spiritual Energy.

In just a moment, the colorful Spiritual Energy had filled the entire North Canyon, along with its surrounding areas.

“Huh!?” With a look of disbelief, the Golden Ant stared at his golden scales.

The colorful Spiritual Energy happened to have surrounded him, giving off the impression of being in a dream. At the same time, a torrent of energy continuously surged into his body.

Slowly, his golden scales grew thicker as he started trembling non-stop. A desire filled his heart, surging straight down from his core. A trace of ecstasy appeared on the face of the usually cold and proud Golden Ant.

*Rooaar..* A shrill roar shook North Canyon. At this moment, the body of Golden Ant happened to be continuously expanding.

Even more terrifying and suffocating was the ferocious and domineering aura that was spreading without restraint.

At the same time, torrents of colorful Spiritual Energy gushed toward Golden Ant, as if they had found their owner.

Upon a closer look, Golden Ant happened to be surrounded by a colorful cocoon of Spiritual Energy. The cocoon happened to be expanding and contracting as if it was swallowing something.

The increasingly oppressive aura caused most Mutant Beasts to feel suffocated. They felt as if a ferocious monster of unmatched proportion was gestating.

On another side…

*Rooaar…* A Tiger’s roar resounded through the mountains and forests.

Its source, White Tiger, happened to be standing on a steep cliff.

Having just finished his meal, he suddenly opened his mouth wide as torrents of colorful Spiritual Energy surged into his body like a flood.

What surprised Yu Zi Yu was that two bulges had appeared on his back.

“This guy…” Seemingly aware of Yu Zi Yu’s gaze, White Tiger let out a long roar, unable to contain his excitement, which was clearly visible on his face.

“Lord Divine Tree, this is truly a tremendous opportunity.” As he stated in an excited voice, the colorful Spiritual Energy surrounding White Tiger became even denser, to the point where even Yu Zi Yu could not see his figure clearly.

“It seems that this guy is about to undergo a transformation.” Chuckling lightly, Yu Zi Yu shifted his gaze.

After a while, his gaze landed on a pack of Storm Wolve. However, at this moment, Yu Zi Yu’s pupils could not help but slightly contract.

*Awooooo…* Suddenly, a painful cry echoed in the canyon as the body of a very tall Storm Wolf gradually started ballooning at a speed visible to the naked eye. Then, with a deafening bang it blew up into pieces.

“Someone could not withstand it after all?” With a hint of helplessness, Yu Zi Yu created a passage leading to the outside.

“If you can’t withstand it, leave. The concentration of colorful Spiritual Energy will only continue to increase…”

After listening to Yu Zi Yu’s voice, while crying in pain, a few Storm Wolves and Mutant Wild Boars finally chose to leave with reluctance.

Opportunities were indeed opportunities. Be that as it may, they were also a nightmare for low-level Mutant Beasts. Otherwise, the apocalyptic scene of the Darkest Days for Mankind would not have occurred when countless Sea Creatures invaded the continent.

Right at that very moment…

*Crack!* A crisp sound rank as if a bottleneck was broken.

Looking toward the source, Yu Zi Yu noticed Honey Badger crouching in a corner, surrounded by lightning.

But this was not the most astonishing thing, the most astonishing thing was that his claws were slowly growing bigger.

*Crackle!* Suddenly, a bolt of lightning cut through the air, heading straight for a spot not far from him.

The next moment, with a deafening and thunderous clap and violent earthquakes, a several-meter-deep charred crater appeared on the ground.

“Has he broken through?” Yu Zi Yu muttered to himself, feeling a bit satisfied.

Things had turned out as well as he had expected.

Right at the very beginning, someone had managed to break through. Certainly, more Mutant Beasts would break through in the next few days. Moreover, outstandingly talented Mutant Beasts might even undergo a terrifying transformation.

Like the leader of Black Chimpanzee underground – King Kong.

Apparently, he had chosen to sleep when he came into contact with the colorful Spiritual Energy. Be that as it may, his body was growing bigger at a speed visible to the naked eye. In just a short while, he had grown over 10 meters tall.

Such an astonishing rate of growth even made Yu Zi Yu narrow his eyes.

It could only be said that colorful Spiritual Energy indeed had mysterious qualities.

More or less, it activated the latent Innate Talents of some Mutant Beasts.
