Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1343: Zhang Fei - Zhang Zetian

Zhang Zetian and his clan members froze in place and stared at Zhang Fei in a mixture of shock and disbelief, especially after Hua Xiaoyu introduced him as Feng Yao’s fiancé.

Most of them, including Zhang Zetian, were cultivators who had lived for a long time. They even lived during the time when Empress Huo Yanling was still alive, so they were familiar with her past character, including her antipathy towards men. Today, Huo Xiaoyu suddenly told them that Feng Yao had a fiancé, let alone a younger and weak one, which shocked them.

Zhang Zetian took a deep breath. ”Is this young man really Empress Huo’s fiancé, Young Miss Xiaoyu?”

”If you don’t believe my words, my empress is in this domain now, so you can ask her directly.” Huo Xiaoyu’s response caused Zhang Zetian to twitch his lips, as he lacked the courage to ask Feng Yao about the matter. ”Anyways, my empress asked me to inform you that you can turn off the barrier now, and you must let Mo Shentian’s two children infiltrate this clan so that her fiancé can do something about them.”

Zhang Zetian returned his gaze to Zhang Fei, doubting his ability to deal with Mo Shentian’s two children. The old man’s expression changed as he activated the soul link, which brought their cultivations on par.

”How... How is this possible?” Not only was Zhang Zetian shocked by Zhang Fei’s sudden improvement, but also his son, family, and clan members.

Zhang Fei deactivated the soul link and spoke to them. ”Senior, I didn’t mean to show off, and I came here specifically to take care of the two demons. Since you seemed to doubt my abilities, I showed you a little of my abilities. Anyways, they knew about me from Jia Zizhen, and they misunderstood that I was a member of your clan because we have the same surname.”

”Jia Zizhen? The Fairy King?”

”Jia Zizhen has fallen, and his position has been replaced by Jia Leixuan.” Zhang Fei’s revelation shocked them again because the news of the fall of the Fairy King had not yet spread to the public. ”The Dragon Emperor found evidence of his conspiracy with Mo Shentian and the Jiu Mozu to assassinate his predecessor, so the Dragon Emperor and the others immediately moved to eliminate him.”

Naturally, Zhang Zetian and his clan members had heard rumors about the conspiracy between Jia Zizhen and the two demon races, but no one had ever succeeded in proving the truth of those rumors before.

”The situation in the Fairy Race has stabilized now that Jia Leixuan has ascended the throne as the new Fairy King.” Huo Xiaoyu spoke in support of Zhang Fei’s words. ”My task is done, and I will take my leave now. My empress will visit you guys after she gets rid of Jiu Moze, so you should prepare to welcome her.”

After Huo Xiaoyu left, Zhang Zetian ordered his son and family to prepare to welcome Feng Yao. He then got off his chair and led Zhang Fei to another area.

”Did you just ascend to this realm, Zhang Fei?”

Zhang Fei nodded at Zhang Zetian. ”I ascended to this realm about six years ago, and I immediately went into seclusion. If you want to ask about my relationship with Empress Huo, I met her reincarnation in the lower realms of the Three Immortal Realms. At that time, I had not been a cultivator for long, and she helped me a lot in my cultivation path.”

”I see.” Zhang Zetian nodded in understanding. ”Did you join a sect or clan in another domain? Or did you follow Empress Huo in the Blazing Nirvana Domain?”

”I am an elder of the Moonlit Passion Temple, but also their current leader.” Zhang Zetian suddenly stopped walking and looked at Zhang Fei in disbelief. ”Feng Yao already knew from the start that I was a dual cultivator, and she didn’t care about my status.”

Zhang Zetian led Zhang Fei to walk again. ”I heard about your sect’s changes from one of my clan members who happened to attend your opening ceremony a few months ago, and the Moonlit Passion Sect is no longer a dual cultivation sect but a universal one. At first, I didn’t believe it because I knew quite a lot about Qing Qiu’er, but I finally understood the reason behind your sect’s changes, and you were the one who brought about that change.”

”Haha.” Zhang Fei softly laughed. ”I first met Qing Qiu’er at the Star Tower, shortly after I had broken through to the Earth Realm, and she chose me as her dual cultivation partner. As soon as I came out of my seclusion in this domain, I immediately joined her sect. Although I am a dual cultivator, I didn’t like the fact that her sect was exclusively for dual cultivators because I had many acquaintances who weren’t dual cultivators, so I decided to revamp the sect and rebuild it into a universal sect. Many clans and sects have joined us, and the latest were the Liao, You, and Qiao Clans from the Sky Pillar Domain.”

”You’re lucky that those three clans are willing to join you.” Zhang Fei simply smiled at Zhang Zetian. ”The Liao Clan is second best in formation arrays and artifact crafting. The You Clan is highly experienced in blacksmithing, but unfortunately, they can only forge swords. The Qiao Clan is not as powerful as the Zhi Clan, but Qiao Yisheng’s medical abilities are top-notch, and I always send my injured clan members to him for treatment.”

Zhang Fei turned to Zhang Zetian. ”How about you bring your clan to join us, Senior? You don’t need to join directly, and you can send two of your best young generation to my sect as your representatives, just as the other clans have done.”

”How about you bring your clan to join us, Senior?” Zhang Fei’s question surprised Zheng Zetian. ”You don’t need to join us directly; instead, you can send two of your best young generation to my sect as your representatives, just as the other clans have done. If you are willing to join us, your clan members will gain many benefits that will be useful for their future.”

”For example?”

”This.” Zhang Fei took out a pill bottle and handed it to Zhang Zetian. ”Don’t be shy; just open it and take a peek inside.”

Intrigued by that, Zhang Zetian immediately opened the pill bottle, but his eyes and body trembled after he saw the five superior-grade pills inside. Before he could ask, Zhang Fei already showed him his alchemy badge, making him sigh softly.

Zhang Zetian wanted to return the pill bottle to him, but Zhang Fei asked him to keep it because it was just a set of his basic pills. ”No wonder you managed to win Empress Hua’s heart, as you yourself have extraordinary talent. A god-rank alchemist under fifty is an extraordinary achievement, and I think you are the second person to achieve it after her. Please tell me more about your sect, and I will consider your offer. Besides, please tell me about your plans regarding Mo Shentian’s two children, and I will prepare appropriate plans to deal with the aftereffects.”

”Since you already know about my sect’s changes, I won’t talk too much about the details.” Zhang Zetian nodded to Zhang Fei. ”Currently, I have eight god-rank alchemists, two supreme-rank blacksmiths, one supreme-rank artifact crafter, two god-rank swordmasters, one rank 10 array master, two domain masters, and many more.”

Zhang Zetian didn’t say anything, but Zhang Fei’s statement shocked him greatly. There were so many sects and clans in the Heavenly Realm, but none had so many experts in a single clan or sect, including his Zhang Clan.

Zhang Fei continued. ”Not to mention, several experts in several fields have joined my sect, and we will never stop developing ourselves to achieve our ambition of becoming the strongest in this Paradise Realm.”

”The strongest, huh?” Zhang Zetian mumbled under his breath. ”You have such a lofty ambition, young man.”

”Haha.” Zhang Fei laughed in response. ”Senior, ambition is a part of life for all living beings, whether they are ordinary humans or cultivators. If we don’t have ambition, we will never strive to develop ourselves, and our progress will stagnate at a certain stage. My ambition is indeed too big for most people, but I believe in my abilities, and I am confident that I will succeed in achieving my ambitions in the future. When I’m the strongest, no one can threaten my loved ones, and they will live in peace.”

”So, what are your plans for Mo Shentian’s two children, young man?” Zhang Fei immediately explained to Zhang Zetian some of his plans for Mo Taiqi and Mo Yousha, but he didn’t go into too much detail and kept most of the details to himself. ”Are you sure you won’t need my help?”

Zhang Fei replied with a slight shake of his head. ”They’re still stronger than me, but I’m confident I can handle them both. However, I need your clansmen to lure them to my room tonight, and I’ll take care of them then. As for Mo Shentian, you don’t need to worry about him; I guarantee he and his wife won’t notice the changes in their two children.”

”Alright.” Zhang Zetian immediately agreed with Zhang Fei’s plans. ”I will take you to the guest room now, and I will order my clan members to follow your plan.”

”Let’s go then.
