Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1311: Forge Three Weapons

You Jian and You Feng were shocked again when Zhang Fei used his golden crow flames to ignite the furnace. They could feel the extreme heat from his flames, but they couldn’t identify them.

”Have you ever seen such golden flames before, Brother Jian?” You Feng asked.

You Jian thought for a while before answering. ’As far as I know, only Long Wuzhao possesses golden flames. Moreover, this young man is an ordinary human like us, so his flames are definitely not dragon flames. Even though the heat of his flames is high, he has complete control over them.’

’Yes.’ You Feng nodded in agreement. ’Wasn’t one of the materials you gave him the Fragment of Heaven’s Alloy?’

You Jian nodded at him. ’I deliberately gave him the Fragment of Heaven’s Alloy to test his abilities because we needed a month to soften it, but I apparently underestimated him, and he should be able to soften it in a few hours with his flames.’

’Hmm?’ You Feng looked at the remaining materials beside Zhang Fei. ’They are Sun Steel, Blood Alloy, Blackstar Meteorite, and Earthheart Stone, right? How is he going to forge a weapon with four opposing materials?’

You Jian smirked faintly without responding to his brother. ’Heh! He’s so arrogant, so I wanted to see how you forge a weapon from those materials.’

Even though Zhang Fei had never seen those materials before, he knew for sure that he could not use them to create a weapon. However, he didn’t think too much about it, and he conceived of another solution.

’You Jian deliberately played tricks on me, but I won’t let his plan succeed.’ After he thought things through, Zhang Fei took out some of his own forging materials. ’Let’s see if this idea will work.’

You Jian frowned as soon as Zhang Fei activated his fire domain, and those forging materials floated within it before being enveloped by his golden crow flames.

’Does he intend to simultaneously soften those materials with his golden flames? Can something like that really be done?’ You Feng wondered to himself. ’Brother Jian, your plan to make things difficult for this young man is useless. Although his materials aren’t high-rank materials, they can still be combined with the materials you gave him.’

You Jian didn’t respond to You Feng, but his expression looked displeased as he watched Zhang Fei process all the forging materials.

Unlike You Jian, his assistants looked enthusiastic to watch Zhang Fei because he did everything himself, and he could do everything at once.

Four hours later, everything was ready, and Zhang Fei began to forge the Fragment of Heaven’s Alloy, the Sun Steel, and the Blood Alloy at the same time. Utilizing his speed and body strength, he swung his hammer at a high speed at the three metals one after another, leaving those who watched his action dumbfounded.

Usually, a blacksmith would focus on one material, and he or she would continue with the next material and so on. However, Zhang Fei actually processed all the materials at the same time, and there was not the slightest hesitation in every swing and blow of his hammer, which was something they had never seen before.

Two hours passed, the three materials had taken their forms, and they could see that Zhang Fei had deliberately forged three different weapons, even though their forms were not yet completely perfect.

You Jian’s face darkened, and his facial veins bulged out; even his fists were tightly clenched. It had taken him several months just to soften the Fragment of Heaven’s Alloy, but Zhang Fei had done it in just three hours, which caused jealousy and envy to rise in his heart. ’Fuck! Where did he get his golden flames? If I also had such flames, I definitely wouldn’t lose to him.’

You Feng also felt jealous and envious of Zhang Fei, but he did not have the slightest negative thought towards him; Instead, he felt lucky because he came to their clan, allowing him to witness a forging process he had never seen before. ’Did my son learn forging from this young man? If that’s true, he will surpass me and become a skilled swordsmith.’

Luo Yunxiao, Wu Lianzhi, Xu Ling’er, Mu Lingshu, and Ning Zhuan’er repeatedly glanced at the two men. They could see the hostility in You Jian’s eyes, but they didn’t say anything and waited for Zhang Fei to finish his forging first. ’He better not think stupidly like the people from the Zhi Clan, or he will suffer if he is hostile to our husband.’

In the end, Zhang Fei spent another two hours completing the three weapons, and he immediately cooled them using a special cooling liquid inside a small stone box.

After everything was done, Zhang Fei deactivated his fire domain and retracted his golden crow flames. He then gave the three weapons—a short sword, a dagger, and a spearhead—to You Jian and You Feng. ”Do you two still think I’m bragging about my blacksmithing skills? Unlike you two, I’m a true supreme-rank blacksmith because I can not only forge a sword, but I can also forge other weapons, and I can forge these three weapons much faster than you. Unfortunately, I don’t have many materials right now, or else I would show you my abilities to forge various other types of equipment.”

”Marvelous! You are truly marvelous, young man!” You Feng then took out the short sword. ”Even though this sword is too short compared to a true sword, it is still an immortal grade, and its appearance is also exquisite.”

You Jian didn’t say anything to Zhang Fei, and his gaze was fixed on the dagger and spearhead, admiring both of them.

”Ha ha.” Zhang Fei laughed and took the short sword from You Feng’s hand. ”Senior, the size of a sword isn’t everything, you know? In the hands of a true swordmaster, even a leaf can become a deadly weapon, let alone this short sword.”

Both You Jian and You Feng looked at Zhang Fei as they realized something. ”Don’t tell us that—”

”Yes.” Zhang Fei immediately used his sword Qi, causing the short sword to look as long as a normal sword. He moved the sword in slow motion, creating many qi swords that stunned the two men. They were even more stunned when he activated his sword domain, creating countless qi swords within it. ”I never like showing off my abilities, but I want you to know that dual cultivators can also achieve many things in this life. As you already know, I am a god-rank alchemist and a supreme-rank blacksmith, and I am also a god-rank swordmaster. You guys always hate dual cultivators, but my achievements are much better than yours, even though I am a dual cultivator, right?”

”We—”

”Senior, I don’t know what happened in this domain in the past, but I think your hatred towards dual cultivators is too excessive.” Zhang Fei canceled everything before continuing. ”Some dual cultivators are indeed vicious, and they use various heretical methods to improve their cultivation. However, it is unfair to assume that all dual cultivators share the same mentality, right? Look around you; there are no dual cultivators in this domain, but there are many evil cultivators here, right?”

You Jian released a heavy sigh and nodded to Zhang Fei. ”You are right that not all dual cultivators are evil people, and not all non-dual cultivators are good people. However, you—”

”You want to say I should be aware of the traditions in this domain, right?” You Jian and You Feng nodded to Zhang Fei. ”Senior, let me ask you two a simple question.”

”What’s your question?”

”What is the purpose of your cultivation?”

You Jian and You Feng exchanged a confused glance for a moment before answering Zhang Fei. ”We cultivate to defy the heavens and achieve longevity.”

”Haha.” Zhang Fei softly laughed at that. ”I’m not looking down on you two, as you’re both more senior and stronger than me. But my question is, how are you two going to defy the heavens if you can’t defy traditions?”

”That’s—” You Jian and You Feng were speechless, unable to refute Zhang Fei.

Zhang Fei then spoke to them again. ”Traditions arise because of past experiences, and they become one of the chains that chain us to worldly things. If you two cannot free yourselves from the worldly chains that restrain you, how will you fight against something as mysterious as the heavens? Even if the two of you cultivate for so long and manage to reach the pinnacle of cultivation like the Golden Dragon Emperor, you will never succeed in defying the heavens; instead, they will punish you for your arrogance in defying them.”

”What do you know about the heavens? You—”

”Senior, my husband knows more about the heavens than you two.” Both You Jian and You Feng looked at Luo Yunxiao, who walked to Zhang Fei’s side and hugged his arm. ”My name is Luo Yunxiao, and I am the daughter of Luo Fenghan and Huang Xiaoyi of the Immortal Lotus Sanctuary.”

”Huh?” Luo Yunxiao’s revelation shocked You Jian and You Feng, as they never knew that Luo Fenghan and Huang Xiaoyi had a daughter, but she immediately showed them her identity jade.

Luo Yunxiao then spoke to them again. ”The heavens have repeatedly tried to kill my husband using lightning tribulations every time he breaks through, and they will definitely do it again once he breaks through to the Celestial King Realm.”
