Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1310: You Feng - You Jian

After waiting for a while, the guard returned and led them into the You Clan, specifically to a forging workshop. Along the way, they saw many children and teenagers practicing by swinging hammers, each of which was of a different size, depending on their strength.

Zhang Fei and the others also saw several middle-aged people not far from the location, but they didn’t practice with hammers; instead, they practiced using various forging materials.

”Ling’er, our husband is drooling over those forging materials,” Wu Lianzhi whispered softly.

Xu Ling’er nodded in agreement after seeing Zhang Fei’s expression. ”Our husband is a blacksmith, but he doesn’t have many materials for forging equipment because we were in isolation for so long. Therefore, it’s natural for him to be eager to get those forging materials.”

”Unfortunately, our husband didn’t bring Sister Shi Xi to this domain; I’m sure she would also be eager to get them.” Ning Zhuan’er added.

”Haha.” Luo Yunxiao laughed softly. ”Just like our husband, Shi Xi has been focused on practicing blacksmithing for over two decades, and she’s also already reached the supreme-rank blacksmith, so she’ll definitely be overjoyed if he brings her here.”

The guard leading them could hear Luo Yunxiao’s words, and he stole a glance at Zhang Fei, thinking, ’Is this young master really a supreme-rank blacksmith? If so, he’s truly talented since he has the god-rank alchemist badge. But why did he have to come to our clan to look for a swordsmith? With his blacksmith rank, he should be able to forge his own sword, right?’

Before long, they had arrived in front of the largest forging workshop in the clan, and the guard immediately left them after reporting to the people inside.

Zhang Fei immediately led his five wives into it, where they saw two people busy forging swords. They were not alone, and several people assisted them in some ways.

Luo Yunxiao had no interest in blacksmithing, and she pulled her sisters to the side of the room to sit there.

Meanwhile, Zhang Fei approached the middle-aged man on the left. Based on his status from the system’s scan, he was You Jian, the best swordsmith in the You Clan. The middle-aged man on the right was You Shiyan’s father, You Feng.

You Jian briefly glanced at Zhang Fei before returning his focus to the sword he was forging. ’I don’t need to examine his body in detail, and I can already tell that this kid is an expert blacksmith.’

You Feng also glanced at Zhang Fei, and he had the same thought as You Jian. ’Why would an expert blacksmith like him come here looking for us? Unlike us, who can only forge swords, he should be able to forge various types of equipment.’

Zhang Fei stood in the middle of You Jian and You Feng, carefully observing their sword-forging process without disturbing them. ’Hmm? There’s nothing wrong with their forging process, but why can’t they forge other equipment besides swords?’

[Master, it seems like they can’t forge equipment apart from swords because of their brains.] Zhang Fei raised an eyebrow for a moment. [I don’t know what happened to them in the past, but they seem unable to imagine any other equipment besides swords, which prevented them from forging them.]

Zhang Fei rubbed his chin. ’When Old Gang first taught me blacksmithing, he said that forging requires a high level of imagination, and we must organize everything in our minds first before we begin forging. For so many years, I’ve always held onto his words every time I forge equipment, and the results are in line with my thoughts. Could it be that there is something wrong in their brains, Mei?’

[I think so, Master. However, I found it strange because it didn’t happen to one person, but to the entire clan.]

’You’re right.’ Zhang Fei agreed with that. ’Their condition is indeed strange and illogical, and something may have happened to them in the past. Some illnesses are indeed hereditary, but they shouldn’t affect the entire clan, and they will only be passed down to the descendants of the owner of the disease.’

[With their status and wealth, it shouldn’t be difficult for them to seek treatment from the Zhi and Qiao Clans. They may have done so in the past, but people from those two clans were unsuccessful in curing them.]

Zhang Fei nodded slightly. ’I hope they have the materials to upgrade my Demon Extermination Sword to immortal grade.’

As the sun sets, You Jian and You Feng finally complete their swords. Zhang Fei could see that both swords were immortal-grade, making him even more eager to ask for their help in upgrading the Demon Extermination Sword.

You Jian and You Feng asked the people who helped them to tidy up everything. ”Sorry to keep you waiting, young man.”

”Two Seniors, it’s not a problem because I came to this clan without a prior appointment. Moreover, I had the opportunity to witness you two forging those swords, and I am very satisfied with it.” Zhang Fei then introduced himself. ”My name is Zhang Fei, and I came here because I want to upgrade my sword. Additionally, I want to buy new weapons for my wife, but I may not be able to afford weapons in this clan.”

”How did you know about us, young man?”

Zhang Fei let out a soft sigh. ”Two seniors, I don’t want to lie to you, and I learned about this clan from You Shiyan.”

”Hmm?” You Feng instantly frowned as soon as Zhang Fei mentioned his son. ”Did my unfilial son come here with you?”

Zhang Fei nodded at You Feng. ”You Shiyan and Fei Yingling are natives of this domain, so I asked them to bring me here, and they’re waiting for me at the teahouse not far from here.”

Hearing that, You Feng used his senses to search for You Shiyan and Fei Yingling. He found them in the teahouse, but he immediately withdrew his senses.

”What is your relationship with them, young man?” You Jian asked Zhang Fei, but his tone was not as friendly as before.

Zhang Fei showed them his sect plaque. ”I am an elder of the Moonlit Passion Temple, and—”

”You should leave our clan now.” You Jian pointed towards the exit.

”Hahaha.” Instead, Zhang Fei laughed at that. ”Aren’t you being too petty, Senior?”

”You—”

Zhang Fei released his aura, forcing You Jian to swallow his words. ”The Moonlit Passion Sect used to be a dual cultivation sect, but it changed after I joined them, and I overhauled it into a universal sect. Moreover, becoming a dual cultivator is everyone’s personal choice, and no one can forbid someone from taking the path they like, including our families.”

”You’re not wrong about that, young man.” You Feng said while nodding in agreement. ”As you said, everyone has their choice, and no one can interfere with theirs. They can choose to become dual cultivators, but we can also choose not to like them.”

Zhang Fei smiled at that. ”What’s wrong with being a dual cultivator? Look at me, I am a dual cultivator, but I am also a god-rank alchemist, and I am also a supreme-rank blacksmith.”

”Huh?” You Jian and You Feng were shocked to hear Zhang Fei say that he was a supreme-rank blacksmith. ”What—”

”Senior, I managed to become a god-rank alchemist at this age, okay? Do you really need to doubt that I can also become a supreme-rank blacksmith?” Zhang Fei took out his alchemist badge and showed it to them. ”If you two doubt the authenticity of my badge, you can contact Jin Nanqing and Luo Lianjin to verify its authenticity, since they were the ones who issued it for me.”

You Jian took out his communication device and tried to contact Jin Nanqing, but he received no response from the old man. He decided to contact Luo Lianjin, who confirmed that he was the one who issued the alchemist badge to Zhang Fei.

”How did it go, Brother Jian?” You Feng asked him.

You Jian nodded at You Feng. ”Luo Lianjin said that he was the one who tested this young man when he took his alchemist rank promotion test, and he was also the one who issued his alchemist badge.”

”Haha.” Zhang Fei put away his badge again. ”I don’t mean to brag, but I dare say that I am superior to you in status. Unlike you two, I am more skilled in many things, even though I am a dual cultivator. If you two doubt my blacksmithing abilities, I will show them to you, and you can watch me directly. However, I don’t have the materials to forge high-level equipment, so I hope you are willing to lend them to me.”

You Jian unhesitatingly took out some forging materials and handed them to Zhang Fei. ”Use them to forge anything you like.”

”Alright.” Zhang Fei went straight to the forging area on the left side and talked to those people. ”You guys don’t need to help me, and I will forge the weapon myself.”

You Jian frowned for a moment, but he immediately ordered his assistants to retreat, as he wanted to prove for himself Zhang Fei’s ability in blacksmithing.

You Jian and You Feng took a deep breath when Zhang Fei took out his Heavenly Forge Hammer and Heavenly Soulwave Anvil. ’Divine-grade blacksmith equipment! Even so, neither of them will be able to match ours, as our two pieces of equipment are immortal grade.’
