The Sword God of the Universe

Chapter 428: Chapter 428: Descending upon the Song Family [First Update]

Perhaps the others outside the Flame Adventure Team’s station didn’t know who the fleeing Dao Spirit Realm warrior was, but the Zhang Family guards recognized Jing Yan.

Who else could that Dao Spirit Realm warrior be, if not Jing Yan, who had once visited the Zhang Family?

Hearing the guard’s words, Zhang Yibing and the others were utterly slow to react.

What did the guard just say?

People from the Song Family who went to the Flame Adventure Team were all dead, and those from Flame were all still alive? Were these words truly coming from the mouth of a guard?

For a moment, everyone doubted whether they had heard correctly. Or perhaps, had the guard gotten the outcome reversed?

”What are you talking about?” After a moment, Clan Leader Zhang Yibing exclaimed, his eyes bulging.

”Clan Leader! Not a single person from the Flame Adventure Team is dead, not even injured. The Song Family, they’ve all been slain by Jing Yan. Jing Yan is a powerful martial artist with Dao Spirit Realm cultivation!” the guard hastened to add.

”What?”

”Huh?”

”This can’t be possible!”

A succession of shocked cries echoed in the room.

Jing Yan, a Dao Spirit Realm powerhouse? What a joke!

There wasn’t a single Dao Spirit Realm warrior within their entire Zhang Family. How could such a powerful being become friends with their Zhang Min? Moreover, they appeared to be quite close.

”Clan Leader! Honorable elders, that Jing Yan is indeed a Dao Spirit Realm warrior, there’s no mistake! Outside the Flame station, I personally saw him flying through the air. Others may not recognize Jing Yan, but I certainly do,” the guard stated with great certainty.

Hearing this, everyone in the room took a sharp breath.

If someone was capable of flight, they certainly belonged to the Dao Spirit Realm. Since the guard saw it with his own eyes, it couldn’t be false. Furthermore, with the Flame members unharmed and the Song Family elders dead, it essentially confirmed Jing Yan as a Dao Spirit Realm martial artist.

”Brother Jing Yan is actually a Dao Spirit Realm martial artist?” Zhang Yu exclaimed with her mouth agape, astonished. Yet, there was delight in her astonishment. She had been worried that Jing Yan might die, but now he turned out to be a powerful Dao Spirit Realm warrior.

Zhang Yu’s father, the Ninth Elder of the Zhang Family, glanced at Zhang Yu, then at Clan Leader Zhang Yibing.

A tidal wave of regret spread uncontrollably within him.

If he had known earlier that Jing Yan was a Dao Spirit Realm warrior, how could he possibly have objected to Jing Yan courting Zhang Yu? It was something they couldn’t even beg for, yet he had hindered it?

One could imagine, if Jing Yan and Zhang Yu truly became a couple, although Jing Yan was not a Zhang Family member, he would at least count as half a member, wouldn’t he? If the Zhang Family faced any trouble, Jing Yan would surely lend a hand. From that point forward, the Zhang Family would command much more respect within Haofeng City. Even families like the Liu Family would have to severely alter their attitude towards the Zhang Family.

Zhang Yibing’s face twitched, as he exchanged a glance with the Ninth Elder, both reading the same regret in each other’s eyes.

”Where did Mr. Jing Yan go now?” Zhang Yibing asked again.

Previously, he always referred to Jing Yan as ”young friend,” but now that he knew Jing Yan was a Dao Spirit Realm martial artist, he addressed him as ”Mister.” In the presence of a Dao Spirit Realm powerhouse, he, the Zhang Family Patriarch, really wasn’t much at all.

Thinking about his previous disdainful attitude towards Jing Yan, Zhang Yibing felt a surge of frustration in his heart.

”It’s uncertain, but he probably went to the Song Family!” the guard guessed, shaking his head.

”He went to the Song Family?” The expressions of Zhang Yibing and the others changed again.

”Honorable elders, let’s also go take a look!” Zhang Yibing said to the several Zhang Family Elders in the room.

Above the Song Family Mansion!

A blue figure appeared like a bolt of lightning from above.

This person was none other than Jing Yan, who had flown here from the Flame station.

”Swish!” With a flash of red light, the Skyfire Sword, glowing with crimson Flames, surged with energy.

Jing Yan’s eyes narrowed as he scanned the entire Song Family Mansion. Right then, the people within the Song Family Mansion clearly had yet to realize that an additional figure had appeared above their family courtyard.

Inside the Clan Chief’s Courtyard, Song Zhongshan’s face was grim as he awaited Song Li to bring Song Ming back. Calculating the time, Song Li and his group should have returned within thirty minutes.

To annihilate the Flame Adventure Team, Song Zhongshan hadn’t taken it to heart at all. Haofeng City had hundreds of sizable powers, and Flame was merely an ordinary one among them, insignificant enough that Haofeng City would forget a force like Flame ever existed before long.

In the sky above, the corners of Jing Yan’s mouth curled slightly, and his hand holding the Skyfire Sword suddenly brightened intensely. Driven by the Primordial Energy within Jing Yan, a gigantic and formidable crimson Sword Light emerged above the blade.

This crimson Sword Light vibrated fiercely within the air. Then, the Sword Light fell like a Meteor from the heavens. An incredibly fierce Power instantly exploded upon impact with the ground.

A violent impact caused the very space around it to shake violently. Terrifying Primordial Energy burst forth in all directions!

”Boom!”

With a thunderous explosion, the tallest and grandest building within the Song Family Mansion crumbled in an instant, turning into ruins. Not just that, the fearsome Sword Light, after destroying the building, plunged deep into the earth.

From the sky, one could see the Sword Light’s trajectory leave a deep and wide trench on the ground.

Dust billowed around the buildings!

The building destroyed by Jing Yan was the Song Family’s Treasure Vault. The material used in its construction was extremely durable. The construction of the vault alone had cost tens of thousands of Spirit Stones, roughly equivalent to what had been used for building the Splendid Pill Tower in Donglin City. Even an Innate Realm martial artist would struggle to damage it deliberately.

But with a single strike of Sword Light, Jing Yan had completely destroyed the entire building.

”Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh...”

One figure after another burst frantically from the buildings.

With such a loud commotion within the Song Family Mansion, all the Song Family Disciples sensed the disturbance immediately, rushing out in response.

”What’s going on?”

”What happened?”

”The noise seems to be coming from the Treasure Vault; hurry and check it out!”

”...”

And Song Zhongshan, within the Clan Chief’s Courtyard, was naturally one of the first to sense the vibration. Moreover, he also sensed the spread of Primordial Energy in the space.

His face suddenly darkened as he spurred his Primordial Energy, dashing out like a wisp of smoke.

Upon rushing out of the Clan Chief’s Courtyard and instinctively looking upward, he saw the figure suspended in the sky.

”A Dao Spirit Realm martial artist?”

”Who are you!” Flames swept across Song Zhongshan’s eyes, Primordial Energy pulsating within him as he fixed his gaze dead on Jing Yan in the sky.

The comer was obviously an enemy, not a friend. However, he appeared to be very young and was someone Song Zhongshan had never seen in Haofeng City. Yet why, for what reason, had this person come to the Song Family Mansion, and moreover, launched a direct attack?
